If I could give Michael M. 6 stars I would. Right from the get go, I was waiting in line (no one acknowledged me) but he walked out from the back and instantly waved me over and asked how he could help. As a female, he immediately put me at ease (which counts for so much in my book) and helped me find the right battery for my car. He offered to install it. Before installing the new one, he made sure my battery was dead - my Jetta was acting funny so he went to get a second opinion. He didn't want me to pay for something to be fixed if it didn't need to be. More points in my book for trust. By now, his boss Billy came out to check on us and offered some more insight and solutions. Switched the battery and we were fixed! So grateful for both Michael and Billy's help. Was helped immediately by technician (Joe S.) who was very friendly and helpful. He definitely knew what he was doing and was very quick at it too! My battery died and my previous warranty with them existed so with just a quick phone number lookup, they pulled up my file, tested the battery, ruled it dead, and changed it right away. Yeah, these guys rock. Their primary competition is a mere block away but you'd never notice, there's no stress or duress here, they're always really nice, professional, and accommodating. I've ordered online and usually choose this specific store to pick the items up even though they are farther away, and that's because they are always prompt and courteous and I've always had a nice experience and prices are very competitive. The guy pictured is the sales associate who recently helped me, he's very friendly and quite the character. I did not have my online receipt to return the battery core - - no problem (he says), we can call the original store and have them look it up for you. I am betting that must be his "Thinker Pose" where he's thinking of new ways and ideas to improve the operations. I say this because he made me aware of some of the ideas he implemented around the store to help improve sales, including bundling small funnels with all the windshield washer fluids. He should get credit for that. So it's definitely all good in this Advance Auto Parts store. read more

Don't become their next victim of fraud. Avoid this company at all costs. Their business model is: customer buys battery with warranty, then they purge the customer from their system, customer brings in their battery and they cannot be found in the system and are asked for a paper receipt, which of course, the customer doesn't have. This happened to us and hundreds of other customers. Don't believe me? Just google: "advanced auto parts no name in system warranty" and you'll find lists of hundreds of people that they ripped off in this exact manner. Long story short, Amanda is my hero and a bada$$. Being a woman, going into an auto store is very intimidating. Refuses to except delivery's at their back door cause poor drivers to back up in parking lot up to 15 minutes or more could not get out of parking spot while they delivered there stuff asked the driver why he said the won't let him deliver to the back and herd them telling him so. I'm not the brightest crayon in the pail when it comes to the car. And their wonderful employees never EVER let on! I needed a brake light and to fix the passenger side window that wasn't lowering when the actual passenger tried to lower it. I purchased both the brake lights needed, but the clicker for the window. Yeahhhhhhhh, I didn't need the switch for the window. The damn child lock was on. Who feels like a jackass? Yeah. THIS girl! No judgement no teasing nothing. Just a "well let's get you your money back' (!!!). And thennnnn, he replaced my brake light, while teaching me how to do it for next time!! I wish I could have tipped him.. Seriously they are the nicest and knowledgeable workers I know, and give some of the greatest customer service out there!! read more

When my truck battery died, I called them to find out about pricing to replace it. Not only were they very friendly on the phone, not only were the prices reasonable, not only will they replace the battery for free AND check your charging system, they will also deliver the battery to wherever you are. Amazing. Needless to say, I went there to get the battery and they were just as good in person. Super friendly, helpful, and efficient. Do yourself a favor - go there. What a waste of a trip! I spoke to customer service and they advised me to take my faulty battery to this location. They even gave me a reference number to use when I got to the store. When I got to the store James would not even take the reference number and I even explained that I could call customer service again. So I drove 30 mins north to the round rock location and they swapped the batter out for me. James you should take notes on customer service. read more

My car stalled and the engine died in two intersections around Central Austin. I think this is AutoZone now and in any case I'm leaving an excellent review for John Falkquay, who came out in the rain to run some tests on my dead car. I bought a $129 battery and a $18 core charge (minus $18 for having a battery) and he put it in there right away with very friendly service. He has 20 years of experience as a mechanic. read more

Thank goodness I didn't have to buy a technical part, because I would not have been able to buy it. James was at the front desk and I was the only customer in the store at that time. He was very rude (mumbled every response if I got a response) and seemed as if he could care less if I got what I needed. I had to walk back up to the counter to get an answer and hear him. The service that I received from him was par poor. I have never been so outdone by dissatisfactory service that I vowed to never dawn those doors again. This is the worst parts store I've been to. They have no knowledge of the parts they are selling, nor do they give a flying flip. I know it's hard to find good help now. I understand when you have new employees who are learning on the job. But the staff I've encountered here lately just doesn't care. Remember your there to help people and sell them parts. You aren't the only game in town. Not even the only game in your direct parking lot. I've done business there consistently thru the years I've lived in the neighborhood, but don't worry I won't be bothering them to spend my money there any longer. read more

Well, recently it dawned on me that I hadn't changed my cabin air filter in quite some time. I had time on my hands and decided to switch it out. It also helps that this location and the Autozone behind it are in my hood. Those things considered, I'm not a fan of either location for a few reasons. 1. Getting in and out is a nightmare and even more so now with construction right in front of them. 2. The selections seem sparse and the prices seem high. Maybe that's just me? Anyway, I ended up here after going to Autozone and leaving. I was wandering around the filters and found they had zero book/guide with the make/model filter sizes etc. Guy at the counter got my information and disappeared to the back to get a filter. While he left I was looking and out of say, 8 different filters they seemingly have ONE brand, because he didn't ask me. He came back and I guess they didn't have it. I left, the end. read more

I have had two good experiences here regarding batteries. On this most recent one I noticed that my battery was struggling on my work truck. I took it over to Advance and asked them to test it for me, although I was pretty sure it needed replacement (6 years old). No problem, the guy got the tester and ran the battery through a few tests and confirmed a dead cell. He was helpful regarding their selection of batteries and suggested a couple of different ones with differing cranking amps and warranties. I made my selection and then told him I had a tax exempt number for the purchase. Once again, no problem, he looked up my employer in their system and the transaction was completed in short order. Another kudo, he received a phone call during our transaction, and he asked them to hold, and then finished our business (3 min). I appreciated him taking care of the customer in the store first. That isn't always done in some businesses. Good experience. read more

Go to Wal Mart for batteries. Their warranty doesn't transfer and their batteries aren't as reliable.

Sergio at the 620 location was very helpful and took a lot of time to help me find the right parts to put together my exhaust system. He went way beyond and I really appreciate it. read more
