Front desk employee didn't even acknowledge me coming in. I was waiting for a good 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. I originally came in to get a new battery, I tested my battery before arriving. The employee insisted on testing and confirmed it was a dead battery. As we looked up batteries the employee said a professional needed to install it.. I mention I've been to this location and many others for my vehicles and never had an issue buying a battery and having them replace it. It just seemed he didn't want to do his job. read more

I needed a new battery and O'Reilly was recommended to me. The store associate, Totong, assisted me. He was super knowledgeable and showed me my battery options. He did not try to upsell me which was a refreshing surprise. He also quickly installed the battery and ensured it was working. The battery installation was free! I was very pleased and now know that I don't have to go to an auto repair shop to get a battery with labor and a premium built into the price. This is the nearest auto parts to me. My battery was dying after 5 years and it was time to replace it. I also needed to buy a metric socket set (darn German car). None of the metric sets on sale were available so I had to look carefully to find a metric set that was at a good cost. The tools layout was sort of confusing as some of the bigger boxed sets were just empty boxes. The store is laid out like most auto parts stores with a large self serve retail space. After you select your self service items mosey down to the parts desk and provide your vehicle information. Luckily I took pictures of the existing battery so when asked about group size, we were able to look up the existing part. Do note that batteries are big business and all these shops tend to stock the more expensive batteries with all the bells and whistles - I compared around and your dealership will probably be the cheapest - If you have an older car 2017 and older and your planning to install the battery yourself. Newer cars with auto start / stop will need to be reprogrammed so if you are doing this yourself make sure you have a device to reprogram the car. Unfortunately the oem batteries were out of stock at my dealership so my choice was to go here. Prices are similar to other major national auto parts store. If you need something now this place fits the deal. If your looking to save money you will need to shop around. read more

In addition to the warm and friendly service, after disposing of my oil, he even returned the catch container to me wrapped in plastic, which is a first from any auto parts store including many O'Reilly's. I love this place! I've been a patron of this store for 15 years...consistently excellent service from these folks. A model for local businesses, there is no mask mandate to enter the store!!! They trust their patrons to stay away if ill (there is a sign at the door explaining this) and leave the choice of what to wear on your body to the individual, where it belongs...BRAVO!!! I was in Austin for a training session the week of 10/23. On my way to dinner on 10/26 I was informed by a Good Samaritan next to me at a traffic light that my passenger brake light was out. I thanked him very much. I stopped by O'Reilly on my way home on 10/27 and purchased the brake light bulb and asked Ed if he could install it or if I can use his tools. I got great service from Jimmy at O'Reilly in Delwood Shopping Center. When my dashboard battery warning light came on and I went there to ask how best to diagnose the problem, Jimmy took his ratchet wrench and removed the battery from my car. He carried it into the shop and put it on a charger, but unfortunately even after twenty minutes, it wouldn't retain a charge. Since O'Reilly didn't have that specific battery in stock, Jimmy couldn't sell me a replacement, so he reinstalled the battery in my car and charged me nothing for his labor, his time, or the use of his store's charger. read more

These guys are really helpful! I know very little about cars or maintaining them, and the employees at this Oreilly's are always great at answering my questions. I came here thinking my battery needed to be replaced, but they tested it for me and said there was just rust build up on my connections. They also helped me install some basic parts such as headlight bulbs for free. read more

Wow. I'm appalled at how rude the staff was at this location. Short preliminary: Car knowledge is NOT my forte, I mean I can check my oil, change a tire (or watch AAA change a tire), but I just don't know much about cars. Pro: I generally smile at everyone I meet, which is usually reciprocated, but not today. So I went in to get some refrigerant for my AC after it went out, As I live in Texas and gets HOT. Once inside, I patiently waited til someone finally noticed me (even though the place was empty) to politely inquire if someone could help run diagnostics on my car (to make sure it was coolant I needed and that my compressor was shot or something) & run a free battery testing. *This was what my dad had recommended I do first. They ignored me. I repeated myself making eye contact with a Hispanic man and projected a little louder. Saying my pleases & excuse me's...still nothing. They just looked at me and walked off to go help another customer who had JUST walked in. Mind you, this is PRIOR to buying the freezing coolant. I decided to go ahead and buy the damn thing and then, MAYBE then, they could show me where or how to fill up my coolant so I didn't blow myself up. I parked right in front of the store, not even 10 feet away from where the front counter stood. At this point, there were STILL NO CUSTOMERS in the store except me, minus the guy who has just walked in. Maybe that should have been a clue, so I didn't understand WHY the supervisor replied "Yeah, I can show you..." He pointed his filthy finger towards the side of the freeze can. I mean... I started to grin, thinking he was kidding, but he handed me my receipt and walked off. So rude! Help a girl out! What is wrong with some of these men today. I mean, I'm a smart girl. So helpful! I went in knowing it was not going to be pretty and it wasn't. However, the guy who helped me was awesome...and he was kinda pretty himself. Easy on the eyes anyway! I was able to walk right in, tell him what I needed, and walk right back out. He loaded me up with all the gear for my car repairs and also helped me find the one they didn't have in stock. The icing on the cake was him seeing me toting a heavy baby carrier around and without me even having to ask, carried my load out for me. With an armload already in tow, that is priceless when someone is that generous with their time. read more

The guy Edric was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. I went in for a simple return. He asked for my name and as I'm saying "No, I'd rather not" he slid it across the counter, became agitated, and raised his voice to say "Then you can take it back!" as if I said something wrong. I didn't even get to finish the sentence and at that point, I had not said anything rude. Some places ask but don't require your info for small returns so I was just going to say "I'd rather not." He then kept interrupting me and talking over me as he commanded more info and I went along with it. I gave the first name, he didn't explicitly ask for a last name yet, and when I gave my last name and spelled it he shouted "I know how to spell that. I'm black!" The whole thing was dumb and made no sense. Then he kept talking to me as I walked out the door, kept being rude, so I did say Go F Yourself as I went out. He kept on so I stopped and asked for his name to which he said "Go F yourself." He became agitated when I simply asked if giving my name was necessary, then made racially based remarks about my last name, and obviously, I'm not black. And then when I needed some roadside assistance 10 minutes later, two people from O'Reilly's (one of them was the store manager) came to the rescue and made sure I was on the road safe before leaving. Cut to the chase: I live in Southern California - my daughter goes to UT Austin and needed a new battery for her truck. I called this store and Edwin stated that they had her battery in stock, but couldn't take payment over the phone (fraud prevention). Explained that I could go to my local store, pay for the battery and they could do a "swap" with his store. Okay, cool. Communicated with my local store on the phone to make sure they could do this. Check. My daughter had the battery jumped and drove it to this store. Edwin removed the battery, communicated with my store, and I paid for it. He replaced it with the new battery and tested the charging system as well. Triple A rep had told my daughter earlier that the alternator was registering weak and it may not even be the battery. Edwin explained that of course it was registering "weak" - the battery was super low. When Edwin tested the alternator after installing the new battery, it was registering normal. Bottom line: Triple A rep was a bonehead - Edwin did an awesome job, my daughter drove away happy, AND this Yelp review is LEGIT. Thanks again, Edwin! :-) read more

We were traveling on 35 and were alerted that our brake lights were both out. God was watching out for us and the first exit we got to after we were told had this O'Reilly's (Cherrywood). My husband went in & bought the bulbs and one of the employees came out & helped him replace the bulbs. He went above & beyond to make sure we were safe for our trip. I just left this place after trying to return some items that I had purchased. Items were in perfect brand new condition and I had the receipt. There was an error between the items I had purchased and the items rung up on the receipt. Obviously not my error, since I didn't ring the stuff up. They offered me no solution and the manager didn't even come out from the back room to talk to me or make it right. I was hesitant to go here in the first place and I will definitely not go back. Pep Boys on South Lamar and Autozone on Burnet around 2222 are both awesome and always extremely helpful. The guys at O'reilly, the exact opposite. read more
