Auto Zones can be a crap shoot on customer service, so I've been pleasantly surprised the two recent times I've gone there to get a car battery replaced, then another time to pick up tire caps. Gentleman helped me replace my car battery right there in the parking lot and was super nice about it and was gentle and respectful of my car, which ai so appreciate. Wasn't rude, grouchy, irritable, or careless with my car. So I appreciate his good work ethic. Other time ai just pre-ordered tire caps cause I lose one the previous day and needed them right away for a long road trip. Caps were ready within a few hours, went straight to the store, walked in, gave them my order number, picked up my order, and walked straight out. In and out in less than 3 minutes. Pre-ordering what you need online, then picking up is gold! I'd recommend that was the way to go to save yourself time and headache. read more

Wednesday morning (05/21), I came to drop off my husband's battery for charging. I was helped by a young gentleman named Michael. He was so amazing an eager to help. When I returned later that afternoon of course I began looking for him I didn't see him and I turned and said are you the gentleman that helped me this morning. He said yes I am and immediately stopped what he was doing and retrieved my battery. That experience will definitely keep me a customer. Thanks again Michael for making my day stress free. I bought a part yesterday and it came with paperwork, I didn't receive a receipt. I came to return it today and the cashier would only offer me store credit even though I know they keep these types of things in their system. It wouldn't be hard to find considering I bought it yesterday and I have the paper work with it. Unfortunately I could tell I was going to have a problem as soon as I saw the uninterested jerk off cashier. Today when I started my car, I was pretty sure my car's battery was on its last leg so I went to nearby Auto Zone on 685 here in Pflugerville. I was acknowledge when I entered the store. Heather said it would be no problem to check the battery and did so right away. The car did need a new battery. No only did they have the type my car needed, but even had a choice in stock. Very poor experience with this location. I stopped in yesterday (Dec1) to get some parts, and there were 3 people in front of me. One guy on phone, second guy working register very slowly. When my turn came, I told him what I needed, and he got them. Fairly smooth. I left, a bit frustrated with the amount of time it had taken. Then today, I get a call from my bank with a fraud warning. Someone had used my CC to make a nearly $400 purchase at a video game store across the street from this business, and attempted a second charge over $200, which was rejected because my bank was already suspicious about the activity. This is a card that's not used online, and hadn't been used recently. I suspect my information was used by someone working at the store, or their system was compromised. When I stopped by the store this evening to express my concerns to the manager, she was flippant and dismissive and totally in denial that there was any possibility that there was any connection between someone at their store and this fraud, or that their system might be compromised. I'm waiting for the investigation to determine who used my CC, but I won't be back to Auto Zone any time soon. read more

(I so know a guy that I might send cause they'd hire HIM, they're so short staffed) But yeah. SLOW, and understaffed. YET, I will say, that there is always that customer (which is usually an older male) that is in front of you, chatting his ass off with the salesperson (usually a guy, but eeeeeveryonce in a while- a girl).. Now this inconsiderate yok needs to move his ass along, because the line is 110% being held up cuz of HIM. But it continues. And you just practice patience. Period. The guy in front of me, with the City yellow vest on, and I heard a joke by older guy @ the counter chatting his bum off, about a teacher that couldn't control her pupils. IDK. Sweet, but come on. This was my first time at this location, And I wasn't impressed by the service. Forget the sarcastic guy who couldn't find a product on the shelf, the long lineup because the 2 guys on staff happened to be on the phone at the same time, but the final straw was being checked out without an offer of a bag. I know supermarkets are pushing 'green' as part of excuse for the 'no bag' agenda, But when you're carrying a bunch of little items this doesn't make sense. Husband went in to get my battery checked and from the start had a bad experience. A girl on the phone who did not acknowledge him and so he asked a guy for help. The giy hooked the battery to the machine and then walked away without saying anything. They then told him he needed a new battery and what kind they have in stock. He asked what the differences were between the two and the girl turned the computer screen around for him to read the description. Just rude and he was the only customer it wasn't like they were busy. Needless to say he walked out. We will pay more for better service hands down and there is an advanced auto parts not even a mile away. read more

My wife had a strange experience at this Auto Zone location. She went in to get a regular oil change at the Tuffy's next door - where she was informed that the battery was only charging at 50%. We had just replaced the battery 2 weeks ago. My wife then went to this Auto Zone and they told her it was charging at only 35%! So, my wife went to two other places to get a second opinion, and they both said that the battery was charging at 100%. I am giving Auto Zone a one-star review because of these charge testing inconsistencies. If Auto Zone can give a reasonable explanation as to why our battery tested so much lower at their location, I will adjust the rating accordingly. read more

I went in for a serpentine belt for a 2008 Toyota Yaris. I asked for a tool to help with the tension of the belt. They gave me a tool for a spring loaded pulley. I explained that it does not have a spring loaded pulley, for which she said that's what the computer tells her. I tell her (with a confused look on her face) that she is wrong. Her response is " i have worked here for 13 years". Then a long haired boy came over and I explained to him, his response is " just put it on and tighten the bolt". I asked him, then how do I tighten the belt. He was lost, then a customer explained I will have to do it 'old school' and pull on the alternator. The long hair boy said "that's what he said" which isn't. They are dumb and uneducated at that Autozone, if I knew more about a vehicle than the woman of 13 years and the dumb long haired kid. They need to train their employees better and listen to the customer as I understand you don't know everything. Listening is part of customer service, which they failed at both. I hope the manager is better at customer service that his/her employees. read more

This Auto Zone gets two thumbs up from me! The staff at this location was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I was losing battery power to my car so I decided to price a new one. The staff tested my battery for free and found that it was my alternator that was malfunctioning. They gave a steal of a deal on a new alternator and prevented me form wasting money on a part I didn't need. read more

A few weeks ago I had a headlight go out on my VW Bug and I took it to my mechanic who replaced the bulb for ninety dollars!! I was gob-smacked, but begrudgingly paid. So you can imagine how I felt when the next week the other headlight went out. I Youtubed how to replace the bulb and it looked straight forward enough for me to do it myself. I went to Auto Zone by buy my bulb, and employee Lee Price didn't miss a beat in offering to replace it for me. The manager on duty made odd little comments like about not replacing headlights like mine, and that Lee just saved me two hundred dollars. I could tell if it was up to him I would have been SOL. Lee replaced the bulb and I went happily down the road. When I got home after work I noticed the headlight was out again, and I returned to Auto Zone. Lee was gone by then, and the same manager from earlier met me. He complained about headlights and again made it clear that he didn't want to help me. He said I'll have one of my guys look at it, but I can't make promises. He was a real jerk. Later Ryan Luna helped me. Like Lee he was extremely helpful. Ryan removed the headlight and checked the bulb. It simply had a bad connection, and Ryan reconnected the headlight and I putted down the road.The only thing that stops me from giving it 5 stars was the manager bitching. If you go to this Auto Zone avoid the managers and deal with the salespeople. read more

I am so glad this is within a mile from my house. They are always so helpful and know their stuff! I am so impressed that they come out to my car and help me out. Once, I bought a new battery there and was having to hurry to go out of town and they helped me select it, then they took out the old one and installed the new one!
