Friendly staff, great ambiance, delicious food. Worth every penny. Had dinner here. I had the steak. Very flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Mashed potatoes were also awesome. My wife had the garlic burger and she loved it. This morning we went back for breakfast and both had "the Anchor" and it was delicious! Get this biscuit with it. We live in the south and their biscuit was honestly one of the best we've ever had. The raspberry preserves on top took it to the next level. read more

We drove up to Anacortes to spend a day at Deception Pass and stopped at Adrift for lunch. Everything seemed good, up until I had found hair in my food. As most people would agree, finding hair in your food, usually ruins the meal.. read more

Best burger I've had in a while (the one with peppers, bacon, and gorgonzola, mmmmm). Split that, the steamed artichoke with curry aioli, and the adrift salad with grilled chicken -- ingredients were fresh and delicious, and service was excellent. read more

Food was AMAZING! Mine was the catfish tacos and my friend ordered the fish of the day: halibut tacos. Personally, I liked mine more. The catfish was blackened so there were so many flavors that worked perfectly together to make one delicious taco! It was spicy which I LOVE but my friend wasn't the biggest fan. She ordered the halibut tacos, and the halibut melted in your mouth. They cooked it to perfect. Light and fluffy but still just enough flavor to keep your mouth watering. The mango salsa?! Life changing. I ate it by itself after I finished my catfish tacos because, well.. my tacos didn't need anything extra. They were perfect lol that ice cream pie too?! Every bite was heaven. The chocolate cookie between the strawberry and wild huckleberry ice cream was absolute genius. You get just enough fresh and sweet, with the hint of crunchy chocolate. I'm going to be dreaming about that slice for a while. It's only seasonal too, so get it while you can! Only reason why I give this place 4 instead of 5 was because the hostess in the front was not very friendly or welcoming. We almost left because we didn't like the way she treated us from the beginning but the reviews were so great (food wise) so we decided to try it anyway. read more

We were on our way to the Blue Fox Drive-in and decided to head to Anacortes for some dinner. I had the Piano salad and my boyfriend had the pork and sweet potato tacos. The flavor in both dishes was great. The lemon mustard basil dressing on my salad was delicious. We shared one scoop of the Lopez Island Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert that was also delicious. read more

Went here based on the Yelp reviews, and OMG they did not lead us astray (thanks, Yelpers!). The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered "oven fries", a Dungeness crab cake, fish tacos, and tried a few desserts, and EVERYTHING was delicious. This place is a true gem. The oven fries had a hint of garlic, were not greasy at all, and came with a garlic aioli to dip in. My mom (who hates regular fries) and I (I love regular fries) both loved them. The crab cake was light, not super fishy, not super greasy, and was full of flavor. The fish tacos were truly something special. Loaded with all sorts of goodies including mango salsa, beans with a hint of cinnamon, and a smoky chipotle sauce that all worked together to create a flavor explosion. For dessert, we each tried "The Dave", an ice cream sundae with a cookie. I got the standard one with a walnut-chocolate chip cookie. My mom got a seasonal one with pumpkin ice cream and a ginger cookie. Both were awesome. I also had a key lime tart that was perfect. The bottom line is this: if you're in Anacortes for any reason, eat here. The food is outstanding, the service is great. It's the place to go. read more

I had my first meal here after moving to Anacortes, and I was so pleased to find such good food in my new hometown. The salmon I had was grilled to perfection and I loved the cocktail menu. While others have mentioned poor service, we didn't experience that at all. Everyone was friendly, and someone from staff checked in regularly. I can't wait to go back and eat my way through the rest of the menu. read more

I'd give this restaurant 4 stars for the food which was excellent. But ... we were there on a Tuesday at 12 noon, a time when they should be quite accustomed to serving a lunch crowd promptly. We were sadly disappointed in the service; it was very friendly, yes, but ... (a) After being seated exactly at 12 noon, it took a full 30 minutes for our order to arrive. It shouldn't take that long to get a lunch order to the table. (b) There was one water refill-- and that was it; we spent the majority of our meal with empty glasses. It was a disappointment and will put us off from returning any time soon. read more

Oh boy was I disappointed in my dinner experience here! I've had brunch at Adrift a few times, which was always fine, but dinner was a mega flop. MEGA. The dinner service was awful. First, our server was wayyyy overly friendly to a point where she was touchy and I was very uncomfortable. I don't want random people touching my face and removing my glasses from my face, especially when I'm a captive audience. Second, we had to wait almost an hour to receive our food. Not once did the server or anyone else stop by our table to do refills or assure us they hadn't forgotten about us. Our server had other tables sit, eat, and leave in the time between us ordering and our dinner arriving. Mega WTF. We ordered two burgers - nothing fancy. Once the food finally arrived and our server decided to be of service again, the server was full of excuses. The primary excuse was that they had to make a new patty for me. It takes like 3 minutes, tops, to make a burger patty. She also asked that we not blame her. What? It sounds like someone forgot to make our food and nobody wanted to own it. The food was not worth waiting an hour for; the burgers were fine but not outstanding, and the fries were soggy and cold. Never again. Won't be back. read more

I wish there was more outdoor seating but I think it was a really beautiful place. Service was fairly quick even when they messed up my order, the new one came out fairly quickly. They are accommodating to vegans and vegetarians. I'll most likely be back there it's in a great part of town easy to walk to and they are also dog friendly on the porch outside. read more

A great find in the heart of downtown. Could be a locals-only-snobby-joint but just the opposite, Super friendly and inviting. The crab cake was hefty, full of crab but a lil too mild of seasoning for me - they could kick that up a smidge. The burger was super good - great flavor and plenty. Walked out delightfully full and will be back next time I visit this quaint town. Hope your lunch is as fabulous as mine! read more

There are a lot of hit and misses when I'm looking for dinner visiting new places. Adrift was exactly what I needed. A great beer selection, it took me a while to get my gorgonzola stuffed porkchop but it was certainly worth it. I also loved that I could browse through their book collection while I was waiting. It helps take the uneasiness out of dining alone :) The menu on the website does not seem to be visible, which is a shame, but if you visit I'm sure you will enjoy anything you order. read more

One of my favorite dinner experiences ever. We liked it so much that we ate dinner here twice on our 4 night trip, which I NEVER do on vacation because I always want to try as many places as possible. I would say that you should make a reservation if you're going on a weekend, but we showed up without a reservation at 9:00 on a Friday and ended up at the bar which turned out to be very serendipitous. Watching the chefs and servers do their thing in the open kitchen on a busy night was so fun! Everyone was very lively and so appreciative of each other. Onto the food. You can tell all the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. Both nights we tried their veggie soup specials and they had a wonderful depth of flavor. Nice to have multiple vegetarian entree options as well-tacos, stir fry, and veggie starts. First night I had the crab au gratin off the app menu because I wasn't super hungry, but it was very large and super filling because it was so rich. The ratio of cheese to crab was perfect. Comes with a lot of bread too to gather all that deliciousness. Second time we came we sat at the same spot at the bar; it was a Monday night, much quieter, and not so fast-paced. I had the chicken pasta special. There are no words for how delicious that dish was; the chimichurri sauce on top was out of this world- perfect balance of garlic/greens for the pasta. If I could buy the chimichurri by the jar, I would. If I could get it on monthly auto-delivery, I would. And don't even get me started on dessert. The bread pudding special was huge and comforting. First time having beer bread in bread pudding, and it was genius! Served warm with creamy vanilla ice cream melting into all the bready goodness. I honestly will probably stay in Anacortes again sometime just so I can eat here (and I live 14 hours away!) The people, the quality ingredients, the thought put into the dishes by the head chef, and the open kitchen make this place indescribably special. read more

Rude hostess, mediocre food. After our meal, the hostess attempted to openly debate me in the middle of the restaurant as to whether or not we'd actually received both of the salads they charged us for. She all but flatly accused us of attempting to scam them out of a $9 salad on a $100+ ticket, when they simply failed to bring out the food we ordered. During this conversation, mention was made that it took a solid half an hour after we ordered entrees to bring out two hamburgers - the hostesses response was "You need to understand that when you order a hamburger well done it takes..." as if I've never cooked a hamburger before in my life and know it doesn't take a half an hour to cook (it was not busy). Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Another hostess attempted to explain that we weren't the first customers our hostess had gotten into a confrontation with that day. Somehow we weren't surprised. read more

This was a great restaurant with a cool vibe. The fish was delicious, the service was attentive. I would definitely return!

Excellent service and great clean food. The seating may not be as elegant as something on the waterfront of Anacortes, however the food is just excellent and the service is friendly and fun. Highly recommend Adrift. The salads were very crisp and the seafood soup was wonderful. read more

The food here was so amazing! I had a yummy glass of Malbec to start followed by the adrift salad with creamy Gorgonzola dressing - amazing. For my main course I had the baked fish - cod over creamy risotto with a sun dried tomato aioli, broccoli on the side. 10 out of 10!!! My daughter got the Brutus salad which was also yummy. Plus, our waitress was so friendly and wonderful. Will return next time we are in the area!! read more

I loved everything about this place, great vibe, friendly staff, great presentation, etc. We were meeting up with friends whom we hadn't seen in years. Unfortunately, when our food came out, everything was barely warm, which suggested that it was prepared but sat for many minutes before the server brought it to our table. One of my biggest pet peeves. Had I not liked the other aspects of this place, I would have docked another 1-2 stars. read more

Delicious food, fantastic service, outdoor seating during COVID was a big plus. Will be back every time we are in Anacortes!

Food was fine, nothing spectacular. What was really great though was the staff. They were so nice and accommodating and overall seemed to take special interest in each particular table. I wanted a glass of wine, but they only served it by the bottle and my server went out of their way to ask kitchen staff or management if they could do it by the glass for me, and they did! While I wasn't blown away by the food, the kindness and good vibe from the staff makes me want to come back when I'm in town again! read more

Well we went to dinner during the arts festival this year and it was even more of a disappointment than breakfast last year. The artichoke appetizer was dry with virtually no "meat" and a tough heart. The steak was over cooked and the crabmeat was not fresh. We ordered apple crisp for desert. It arrived 40 mins later. More crisp than apple. The waitress was indifferent Cannot understand the 5 star reviews but do understand we will not return read more

I have to say I was horribly disappointed in our dinner at Adrift. We had just moved into the area and had two couples visiting us. We had heard great things about this spot, so we made a reservation and arrived at 6:00. We were seated, and not attended to with water, a server, or menus for over 30 minutes. Our waitress apologized profusley, but after taking our orders, our drinks came 15 minutes later, and our dinners, overcooked and lackluster came 15 minutes after that. This was a weeknight, so it wasn't all that busy, but it seems they were both understaffed and overworked. My friend's blackened fish tacos were truly awful, and my highly touted Cioppino was 'muh.' I'm not one to leave poor reviews, but from the beginning to end, our dinner was terrible. We have a gift certificate from a friend, and truly, I'm hesitant to use it. read more

The food is so amazing here! If you are visiting Anacortes for the day, make sure you stop by for an amazing Oyster Burger and a craft beer. The only reason I dont give them 5 stars is because for some reason they take forever to greet and seat you, even if there are plenty of empty tables. For a place with such amazing food & desserts, and incredible cooks, their non-existent front of house really needs work. Dont let that stop you though, the Crab Cakes are well worth the wait! read more
