Going out for breakfast at different local spots, wherever I may be, has always been my thing. Adels seems more like a big chain restaurant like a Dennys but it felt more personal. Getting the bad out of the way. I know it's breakfast time but sometimes you need to treat yourself. My son ordered a chocolate milkshake and got chocolate milk covered in whipped cream and a cherry. Needless to say he was rather disappointed and ordered a juice instead. The pancake was a but tough and didn't come with near enough butter or syrup. I'm certain it was a heated frozen pancake. It's one of the dishes I judge at every breakfast spot I hit. The corned beef hash was meh. The corned beef itself lacked any kind of seasoning or flavor and the potato chunks were way to big into proportion with the shreds. Even sprinkling on lots of salt and pepper failed to save it. That is my other dish I rate at every breakfast place I go to (that has it on the menu). Now the positives. I really liked the hash browns, large shreds of potatoes cooked to a golden brown, the eggs were cooked perfectly (most breakfast places fail at cooking an over easy egg properly). My son liked the biscuits and gravy. My husband seemed to enjoy the eggs benedict he ordered. My daughter got the crepes with strawberries and she literally DEVOURED them. The sausage links were just ok. Next time I want to try a different breakfast spot, but adels location was convenient and was a nice break from the subpar free breakfast at the Holiday Inn. read more

The breakfast food is consistently good; my husband and I are repeat diners at Adel's. If you have dietary restrictions, be cautious--and be very explicit as you place your order. We placed a "to-go" order this morning, with a request of "no dressing" on my Chinese Chicken Salad--and found when we arrived home that the salad was drenched in salad dressing. Then, on the telephone, the manager insisted that the order had not stated "no dressing" and that they could redo the salad if we drove back to the restaurant (we don't live in town). Thus, my rating would ordinarily be a four-star, but not four-star with the lack of empathy by the manager. read more

Customer service is and has always been great, the servers took the time to help us, were attentive and polite making sure everything is perfect. Burgers and chili cheese fries are extremely delicious, nothing like we have at home. The food is so good you get to forget everything else, lol. I've driven past this place hundreds of times. My boyfriend suggested it because he dug their chicken cesar. We went on a Friday night after a self prescribed 5k. The service was great, the ambience was like 90's modern, food was delish (loaded bake potato with chili and cheese are you kidding me?!) and all was impeccable clean. I will be back for the Mismosa bar. We dropped our atm card between the seats and the wall and weren't able to get it out. We went back the next night and explained it to the manager what happened. Someone was sitting in the booth. He offered to get it for us and call us. Sure enough he called us later that evening and said that it wasn't easy but he had gotten our card back! I would like to start this review out by giving our server Sidney a big thank you. Outstanding customer service with fantastic recommendations. We started our meal off with some gooey crispy mozzarella cheese sticks. Then moved on to some freshly made salads then perfectly cooked steaks and baked potatoes. Their dinner plates sure are big though so bring youre appetite!!! This was our first time here and we will definitely be coming back! Came back in 2020 Trinity was an amazing waitress, super friendly and knowledgeable. However, when my CA omelette came the bacon, obviously precooked and reheated, was cold and hard and the cheese wasn't even melted. The country potatoes were great though and the well-done toast came out just as I ordered They just brought the bill and gave me a 20% discount on the bill - nice customer service! read more

In comparison to other diner restaurants, I'd go e this place 4 stars. Looking at it from the outside, the look of the building and signage is a bit striking still despite their recent repainting. So it kept me from trying this place for a while. We dined in this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how clean the restaurant was and well taken care of. The diner feel reminds me of an old Alton's restaurant but it was welcoming and every single one of the employees was courteous and prompt in their service. Not knowing what to expect, but seeing "steaks" on the sign, I tried the rib eye steak. It came with a delicious salad to start, and the steak itself came with veggies, baked potato, and garlic toast. The potato comes with butter and sour cream - lots! Though I would have liked come chives or cheese... the vegetables were cooked well, and the steak was tasty for a griddle style steak. I admit, I prefer steaks when they are smoked because the flavor is better but this was good overall and good quality for a diner steak. The one really "meh" part was the garlic toast. It was actually bread sandwich slices with a little cheese/garlic sprinkled on it. I'd advocate for a better bread... but overall the experience was good. There was an older crowd all around that seemed to frequent the restaurant- mostly grandparent types or grandparents with their grandkids. So I have a feeling the food is at least consistent based on the clientele. read more

Unfortunately, they do not salt their fries or offer to replace the flavorless dish but, I wasn't expecting the tone that was a stern reprimand that I need to request they be salted first. When you order fish and chips they don't include tarter sauce or lemon either. Out of convenience, I have ordered here, I can easily buy the battered fish at Costco and turn on the oven, because that's where they are from anyways. No reheated well enough, either. Very disappointed. My husband and I travel a lot and we love Eureka. It has nice weather and red woods is close. We always stop to eat at Adel'e Restaurant. But yesterday's food was just awful. The burgers were average. The meat had a weird texture for me. Coleslaw on a side was tasteless. The lettuce in Caesar salad was yellow. Also, the salad had an unknown greasy sauce, not regular Caesar salad dressing. We got chicken popcorn where chicken wasn't fully cooked. Fries were fine. We also got chips where the meat was tasteless. Please, use salt! Needless to say it was our last time eating here. read more

I have eaten at "Mrs. G's", then "Adel's" Restaurant, for over 30 years. Was a customer at least 5+ times a week. I don't like to cook. As I was there last, had ordered my meal and was sitting there waiting on my food, I observed a newer waitress, who was attempting to take the orders of a group of people. I could see that there must have been some difficulties, by her body language and posturing, the tilting of head, the dropping of hands by her side, turning palms up, in the mannerism of maybe frustration, or surrender. A few minutes later, the waitress who was seemingly having difficulties with a larger party of guests came to the counter, maybe 3 feet from me, doing something on her order pad. As to be polite, I inquired, "How are you?" The girl stopped what she was doing, to raise her voice at loudly exclaim, (In her exact words) "I'm too busy right now, I do not have time to talk to you!" I did respond, "Wow! That was extremely inappropriate." calmly, while feeling a bit shocked and embarrassed. Unsure if she was listening, or even heard me. I strongly felt insulted and embarrassed by her loud outburst, with so many other customers nearby. Making me look like a 60+ year old pervert, trying to pick up on some young girl, or something. I was not flirting with her, nor asking for conversation. I only inquired of her on how she was. Only to be polite, as we were raised to be, in my generation. I had not intended any further exchange, beyond that. It would seem more reasonable, for her, to have just responded with something in the nature of: "I'm too busy to talk" - "Busy as Heck" - "I'm good, just busy" - etc. It would have taken less effort and time, being she was "busy". She exerted extra effort and time, just to be rude or aggressive. I realize that she may have been in distress, due to a former interaction, but that is not cause, nor justification, to inflict verbal abuse onto others. When I mentioned the outburst to my waitress, she justified the actions by stating that, "the people in the other seating area had been rude" to her. When I asked to speak with a management person, I was told that no one was available. After about four telephone attempts, I spoke with a lady who identified herself as management. I attempted to explain what had transpired, she was not really interested in what might have happened. I had to even ask her, (Exact words) "Do you even want to know what happened?" (In her defense, I did call around the noon lunch hour.) She responded, "I have customers, but I will listen." She did not suggest, request, or ask that I might call at another, or a recommended time. After all, it took 5 attempts, to get this far. It was clear to me, that she really didn't care about the incident. An experienced manager, or one who cared, would have made arrangements for a follow up call, or asked for a phone number. A month later, I was able to talk to Juan, the Manager. As we had discussed the incident, at the far end of the restaurant. Juan apologized, for the incident and I was just about ready to leave. We were interrupted by one of the waitresses, who walked up to us and said, "You're making us uncomfortable, so I'm calling the police." Juan, told her not to call the police. I volunteered to wait, if they had. I had done nothing and would appear guilty, if I left, to avoid police. I inquired to Juan, what I had done wrong or inappropriately. I asked, "Did I have a loud voice?" He answered, "No." I asked, "Was I violent?" "Juan responded, "No". I asked, "Did I use curse words, or threaten anyone?" He responded, "No". I waited for 18 minutes in the parking lot to see if the police came. Did not want to appear I was evading them. No cops showed up. The initial reason for the complaint to Adel's was, as a businessman, if someone working for me, representing my business, had interactions like these, I would definitely want to know. So the treatment of customers is not an important concern, it would seem. And any complaints are met with strong resistance, even to the threat of calling the police. read more

Just had thanksgiving dinner at Adela and it was spot on delicious!! I would highly recommend going to this restaurant for any meal.

Food has gone down hill recently as prices have gone up a lot:l. Frequent here about once a week, but tonight the old gentlemen at the table next to me got a $20 steak that was cooked way beyond the medium he had ordered and the waitress went to get the manager. Waitress came back and said "the manager doesn't really have time to come out and replace this so we will just take a few dollars off". Seemed pretty clear where the customer stands and the managers ability to come out and quickly correct the situation. I felt bad for the old gentleman who didn't even bother to eat his burnt meal. Our server was super patient with my family and handled all of our requests really well! Absolutely recommend the Caesar salad with chicken. The interior is decorated really well too. I inquired if the French Dip was masquerading as the Prime Rib sandwich and was assured that I was mistaken. I don't believe them. And, two sandwiches and two drinks came to $44+. I was fortunate enough to have a Eureka native show us this place for breakfast before heading out of town. The diner doesn't look like anything special but I'm sure that's because there are so many long time customers that could care less about a facelift for the restaurant. I strongly believe that they come for the food if anything! The food was awesome, honestly more than I had anticipated. The waitress was very attentive and got our orders taken and brought to us at a nice pace. I had the Rueben, I try to have one any time I travel because every one makes theirs different. I have to say that this was the first time I'd had the sauce served in a separate dish, I liked that idea but I didn't find it necessary personally. Along with the Rueben I was able to order a side salad and I have to say that it was well beyond my expectations also. Altogether I say that the service was awesome, the food was fantastic, and the value would be hard to beat. I'll be here again if I'm ever back in town! Side note - The leftovers didn't do so well for the car ride home, so in this circumstance I would just recommend eating it all before leaving the diner. This is unfortunate but Adele's has NO senior menu. I feel this is discriminatory toward our elders. I took my 82 year old mother and my 85 year old aunt for a small bite. The regular menu is a waste for these seniors with smaller appetites. They asked for the child's burger since the burgers are smaller in size. The young girl denied them saying no one over 12 is allowed to order off the child menu. However they were, for some odd reason, allowed to order child's milkshakes! Made no sense. In this day and age I don't understand why this place is discriminating against our elders, who not only have smaller Appetites but are also on a budget. If there's a child's menu why isn't there a senior menu as well. Not ok. read more
