I really like this place, and have for years. The only downside is that it has become TOO popular, and is always packed! Always a big workday lunch crowd with a line all the way to the door from the counter to order. And though I'm always worried I won't find a place to sit, one always opens up just as I need it. We sat at a two-top table today that was crammed elbow-close to the ones next to it. The tables themselves were a little too long, and we found ourselves leaning forward across the table to hear one another. The crowdedness is my only reason for knocking off one star, but in its own way it's a testament to how good of a restaurant the Adair Kitchen is. The food is always very tasty. I didn't have it today, but one of my favorites is their Bacon Waffle, with bacon pieces mixed into the batter. Gives it an awesome flavor when mixed with the maple syrup! Today I had their Club Sandwich. At first when it came out, I was disappointed that the bread had not been toasted. However, it looked incredibly fresh, still lightly powdered with flour on the crusts; possibly made in house or delivered from a nearby bakery. Then as I began to eat my sandwich, the bread itself had such a wonderful flavor that I was thankful it hadn't been grilled! The sandwich is pretty big and could probably feed two if you were looking for a smaller portion. I did note however that the big chalkboard had listed the sandwich price as $9.95, but the newer printed menus had it listed as $10.95, so I guess it has gone up on price recently. Overall a tasty and trendy choice that I keep going back to! Would definitely recommend, but be sure you aren't in a rush. read more

Ordered couple of things which looked interesting to try so went with pecan crusted chicken and chicken enchilada, but entrees tasted horrible would be least to say. For nearly $20 entree each portion sizes were small but quality was fairly decent but tasted like c**p. If I had option to give negative 5 stars would have given it. Now he's sides the cilantro rice was so salty it was not edible went into trash, beans were ok,green beans were basically raw and didn't get bacon but the citrus glaze didn't taste citrus but very sweet apple sauce. The only thing waspretty good was their mashed potato side. Wouldn't go back or recommend this place not quality control overpriced and lack consistency. read more

Adair has a really nice vibe, but I've never been really impressed by the breakfast food the handful of times I've been here. Their avocado toast is pretty decent, and the hash brown casserole has flavor instead of being bland potatoes like most places. I personally prefer my waffle a little harder but the flavoring was so good. I could taste the vanilla and buttermilk. The French toast tasted like a cinnamon roll. It was absolutely amazing! Their fruit cup was perfect large enough for my 2 kids to share and it had a great array of fruit. The mimosa was good, it has a very subtle taste but it was very strong. 1 is enough to start a day. I had the Simple Green Chicken Enchiladas and was amazed at the quality of the chicken. It was impressive rotisserie style. The sauce was perfect, the beans were great, and the rice was just right. Once I asked for Cholula, my plate was over with. I loved that they allowed substitutions for sides free of charge. I tried my brother's meatloaf and it was immaculate and I would probably order that next time. I would visit again if I am in the area! Houston is slowly reopening back up and yesterday was my first time dining out in nearly two months of quarantine. With physical distancing still being very important for me and my friends, we felt comfortable and safe eating at Adair. On my visit during lunchtime, I observed there were a total of five or less tables. Upon entering the waitress said we could sit anywhere with flowers on the table. The other tables had faces of celebrities, and patrons were not allowed to sit at those tables. (See photos) I ordered the Pesto Pita with sweet potato fries (to die for) with a Lemon Asparagus soup. Both were fresh and yummy! The next time I dine out, I will order myself the big, healthy bowl called the Super Foods Bowl! (Also see photos) At the time of closing out, I wish there was contactless pay where you can take a picture of the QR code (our friend was having difficulty using that method of payment) or tap your card to pay. I think they're still working out the kinks though, but the waitress came to our table with a mobile payment device to swipe our cards for payment so that was convenient. With this new normal of physical distancing, it felt great to be out supporting restaurants by eating inside their establishments. Today my job ordered food from Adair Kitchen. I tried the Roasted Veggie Bowl. It had forbidden red rice, carrot, zucchini, squash, sweet potatoes, red onion, sprouts, sauteed kale, cashew tamari vinaigrette. It was extremely tasty. What i really like about this place is that they have a lot of healthy and gluten free options on the menu. The food is colorful and a nice presentation. My meal got an A+. And my experience with Adair was really good. Plenty of parking is available as its located in the same lot as Randall's. They do offer ordering online for pick up as well should you choose to have a picnic or just take it home. Plenty of seating inside for big parties or just a table for 2. So I had ordered an omelette with spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Along with a side of fruit and side of bacon (they do the bacon right - crisp quality bacon) and delicious latte. I'll tell you it was so good I put that tongue to good use and licked the plate clean. It will definitely be part of the brunch rotation - I'll have to try out lunch and dinner. This was my first time eating here and for the most part the food was good. Unfortunately the service was not. I walked in and wasn't greeted. So I just sat down at the bar. I was confused by everyone's faces and asked "are y'all about to close" because It felt like I wasn't supposed to be there. Another thing was my server wasn't attentive... no food or drink recommendations at all. I assume maybe their having a bad day... or I came around the time they were about to go to lunch... I work in the industry so I understand. However, I noticed when other customers walked in they were greeted with a "Hello welcome in" I was not. Another customer sat next to me at the bar and my waitress was more attentive to her than I. Still trying to give her the benefit of the doubt... after I finished my food she brought my tab and I checked out... I didn't get a "thank you have a nice day" or a simple "thank you" she continues on her conversation with the customer next to me. I swear Adair Kitchen is a 100% knock off of Corner Bakery Cafe. Heck, even the font of the signage and font are similar. The few meals I've had at CBC have been good; so I'm not really dragging either restaurant under the bus. Adair was a short drive from our hotel; simple order at the counter process just like...well, you know. Wife hated the coffee; never seen her drink so little coffee in 10 years of marriage. Drink station even had mint for my iced tea which was a nice touch. Expeditor who delivered our food brought back ranchero sauce ala salsa back to the table in a timely manner. By the time our food arrived to the table there was a line out the door. I had the daily scramble for $8. You get the requisite scrambled eggs plus two add ins from the "mix-in list" along with your choice of side. My mix items were goat cheese and proscuitto with excellent results. I'm not a huge black bean fan so I chose hash browns that were remarkably similar to Cracker Barrel. Somehow I got some toast too! Wife had the croissant sandwich with egg, cheddar, field greens, tomatoes, and avocado which she added. So, similarities aside to the national chains the dishes at Adair are a win for the price point. Except for the coffee which my wife still want's me to give them crap about. When asked what it's for I was told it's a 5 % charge to the total bill to help pay for packing so they have to raise prices...but they just raised their prices. Like what?
