Holy shit, this place might actually be perfect. Sure, it is a little bold to put "perfect" in the name, but they earned it and it works. The pizza is A+. The vibe inside is awesome. It feels like stepping into a warm late '80s or early '90s memory. Service is attentive and friendly. I have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and this is easily one of my favorite spots. They just nailed it all around. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, they have the best Caesar salad I have ever had. It is crazy how good it is. You would not think a pizza place would crush a Caesar like this, but here we are. My dad lives in Nassau and will drive to Williamsburg just for Ace's pizza. He is a lifelong pizza snob, the kind of guy who thinks every place is "good but not great," and even he is obsessed. Super cute spot! Very chill vibes that gives that's old school feel. The pizza is square pies/Detroit style pizza vs NY pies. I personally prefer NY style with a thinner crust, but the flavor was pretty good! It was more cheesy bread to me since the crust has cheese baked in on the edges. Really tasty! We shared the white slice that had cold mozzarella on top with honey and then also the hot burrata which was a red sauce really flavorful. Service was ok, it's a pizza place so very relaxed. We wanted to try a new pizza spot while in Williamsburg and unbeknownst to us, Ace specializes in Detroit style pizza which we enjoy but don't eat often outside of Michigan. Ace seriously nailed it. Two of us shared a medium pie (half pepperoni half cheese). The crust was incredibly fluffy and savory and the burnt/crispy cheese edges were insanely good. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high quality. We're already making plans to return to try other pizza toppings, especially the buffalo chicken and hot burrata. Ace's Pizza is a Detroit-style pizzeria that opened in Brooklyn, New York in February 2021. It was founded by chef Matthew Etchemendy. The talented chef had previously owned the NYC restaurant/bar The Headless Horseman as well as its sister establishment Ichabod's (both in Union Square). By 2019, Etchemendy longed to open a pizzeria that paid tribute to the pizzerias of his childhood. He had grown up in the 1980s when it was a ritual to go to a place like Pizza Hut, sit at the booths, and order pies and pitchers of soda to the table. After experimenting with doughs and pizza combos in his kitchens, he made the jump to open a new pizzeria location in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. The nostalgic pizzeria focuses on Detroit-style pizza pies as well as wings and salads. I recently visited Ace's Pizza while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn breweries and pizzerias and this was my third stop of the day. Although the pizzeria is relatively new, I had heard nothing but great things. I was very surprised when I walked in. The pizzeria had a super-retro vibe; I felt like I had stepped back in time to a pizzeria from the '70s or '80s. There were vinyl booths, an N64, a vintage arcade cabinet, and all sorts of crazy pictures and kitsch on the walls. After looking over the menu, I ordered a personal size of the "Hot Burrata" (Ace's special cheese blend, tomato sauce, creamy burrata, Calabrian chili and basil). When it was served to me, the dough was covered from edge to edge with a caramelized cheesy, crunchy crust. I may come from the land of New Haven-style thin crust pizza, but Ace's Detroit-style pizza was totally delicious! I enjoyed it so much that I immediately ordered a second. This time I ordered a personal "Vodka Meatball" (homemade meatballs, vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella and ricotta). Like the previous pie, it was so good! I recently came to Ace's Pizza while hanging out in the Williamsburg area. I have been dying to try their Detroit Style Pizza for a long time. I never had this style of pizza before, so I was very excited. I came on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get a seat with no problems. I ordered 3 different styles of their personal pies. I went with the classic cheese, vodka meatball, and buffalo chicken. I must say that all 3 of these choices were excellent. I really enjoyed this pizza. I loved the cheese crisp that were on the edges of each slices. That was my favorite part. The winner here for me was the classic cheese. This was my favorite from them all. It was super light, nice and crispy, and flavorful. But I enjoyed the buffalo one and vodka one, too. Overall, this pizza was outstanding, and I'd love to come back again to try some more options. My most recent order was last night Saturday 2/1/25. We ordered a large cheeseburger pizza and the Carolina gold chicken wings. Those are my favorite items on the menu. The smallest size is their personal portion, which is still two pretty hefty slices. Freshly made though, so still super hot and fresh! I got the hot burrata, and it was really good. Pepperonis were cooked to perfection, super crispy and crunch. The burrata provided pops of freshness and creaminess, and the calabrian chili really stood out, with its extreme amounts of flavor. The dough itself was also great, as it was super fluffy and light, with a good crisp around the edges. The only thing that was a bit weird to me was that the bottom of the slices weren't very crispy at all, and I was expecting that with how well crisped the edges were. This made the middle bites a bit homogeneous in terms of texture. Overall, still really solid. Will definitely be back to try a full pie! read more

The crust had a perfect crisp, just the right amount of cheese and that hot honey on the Spicy Boy was just delectable. The wings were also top tier. I really really enjoyed the Nashville hot wings , mainly bc the spice was on point. We also partook in the Caesar salad and it's a perfect palate cleanser but nothing special. I was also most pleased by the nostalgic vibe of this place. They have games like Connect Four, Operation and many more as "decor" additions. We started with a garlic cheesy bread which I was told was our reason for being there and shared that between 4 of us. Such crisp edges, delicious flavor and moisture balanced between the cheese and sauce. A personal pizza was the perfect size. It's like having two big square pieces to yourself or you can easily cut further and share. All served in rectangles with square cuts. I believe pizza is even better when cut up in squares. That's my philosophy. The awesome thing about it is you won't feel too heavy after eating it. You would think that's the case! It's not dense but filling enough to leave you content.
