We had the pleasure of working with YI for our son's therapy--once, around when our son was 6…read moremonths, and then a bit more than a year later (we had moved, and SARC assigned us to another agency, which we eventually went back to YI). The technician that was assigned to our son (the second time) noticed that he showed behavioral patterns that indicated SPD. Neither my wife nor I were familiar with this, and the tech suggested some resources for us to read and learn from (one of which was The Out Of Sync Child, which comes on an audiobook). I am always thankful for YI and that tech, as, until our son could officially be diagnosed (later diagnosed as autism), that tech integrated her therapy to be in line with children who have SPD. Unfortunately, SARC assigned another agency to our son (as he required many more hours, which YI couldn't meet; as well as other services that YI doesn't offer). That agency, among many other problems, didn't know (or bother to learn about) SPD. Fortunately, after pushing our Regional Contact for another agency (as well as asking to go back to YI, as, even though our son was getting fewer hours, those hours were FAR MORE SUBSTANTIVE than the new agency--in fact, he was REGRESSING with the new agency), the new agency (which could meet the new hour demands and other services) knew about SPD and their techs are trained about it.

For years, our son participated in this riding program. As long as he was small and easily managed,…read moreeverything was smooth. But the moment his cognitive needs grew and he required more support, they dropped him like a hot potato. After my wife requested a reasonable accommodation to our billing because our son couldn't attend on non-mounting days, they took our payment and immediately cut ties. When she pushed back, the owner lashed out with outrageous, false claims that our son had harmed staff and animals. We have years in this program with zero history of issues; the single incident they referenced involved an animal that was completely unharmed--if anything, the risk goes the other way around, as the staff stated on more than one occasion. Conveniently, this "safety concern" only materialized the exact moment we asked for a fair accommodation. It is heartbreaking to watch a little boy who has very few interests in life constantly ask to ride his favorite horses, only to be shut out by this organization's greed and lack of empathy. Families with children who have developmental or cognitive needs deserve far better than this.

Based on our experience, this organization's public image as a nonprofit dedicated to helping…read morechildren with disabilities does not match the reality we experienced as a family. What is especially troubling is the disconnect between the organization's mission and how families with more complex needs are treated. If an organization wants to present itself as a nonprofit serving disabled children, it should be held accountable to that message. Families deserve transparency about which disabilities and support needs they can realistically accommodate, rather than discovering only after enrollment that their child is considered too difficult to support. For families considering this organization, I would encourage you to ask very specific questions upfront about accommodations, cognitive disabilities, behavioral or communication needs, and what happens when a child requires more individualized support. The word "inclusive" should mean something more than a marketing slogan.

The other 4 are typically developing and healthy, only going in for yearly check ups and if they're sick. They are quick to put in all prescriptions and stay on top of referrals and the "extra" things that my daughter needs. I'm very impressed with their bedside manner and knowledge. I feel my kids are in great hands!

Brought her in for her 2 months healthy baby. 4 month visit the doctor asked me about vaccines and I am indeed anti vac. And as soon as I told her that all of a sudden my healthy baby has a heart murmur. I'm sorry but you are a doctor and just because we have different opinions doesn't mean you should tell me something that is not true and instill fear into me and her father. Of course we got a second opinion from someone who is WELL trusted and actually believes what we believe in and told me that yes this "Doctor" told us this out of anger. How dare you! How dare you tell a family that just had a baby that our sweet healthy vulnerable daughter is sick. Sorry you didn't meet your quota for the day on your vaccinations. Good riddance.

Their billing department can't get their billing codes right. With the office being in network w/ my insurance still left me with a $650 bill. They I brought to their attention and still a $250 bill. And had the nerve to call me w/ a demand to pay call. Called my insurance and once again they are billing my insurance for a type of treatment we never received. Been back and forth with them since Feb. Sent them the insurance invoice that I received from my insurance company saying all of it was paid. They are still harassing me about the out stand balance of $200. Keep in my copay is only $10; which I paid and have the receipts for that too. You're better off find a more organized and professional office. It's a shame because my son actually liked his therapist.

I'm in Anaheim but my insurance found me a list of female providers and the therapy offices' phone numbers to schedule with them. So I called the number and it turns out Abigail from the Corona office answered and handled me very professionally and promptly. She patiently explained the process of how it works when you're a new patient and made sure I was aware of how it works with availability and whatnot and when I got discouraged and disheartened by the seemingly lack of availability she gently listened to my concerns and explained that she just wanted me to know what to expect. I felt much better and decided to continue. Towards the end of the super quick screening process she heard why I wanted therapy and when I was done talking she focused on the part where I casually said I just found out apparently I can't get diagnosed with autism as an adult so the root of why I need therapy is really so I can navigate the world better and not feel crazy -AND SHE SAID THEY DO EVALUATIONS and basically just brought hope and joy back into my life I'm crying tears of joy as I write this ending because now it sounds like she was just doing her job but I haven't been able to find any hope for getting evaluated since I've been finally trying to like how is it possible that not everybody in the mental health field knows who or where is offering what and I wish someone would've told me sooner but nonetheless I am ever so grateful to Abigail please keep her she is a gem anywhere she goes so treat her right please and learn from her! Not everyone in the medical or mental health field actually cares most people are in it for the money so I'm so happy Abigail was the face of heredia today because of her I'm IN. She will have a lasting impact on me because she was professional. No matter if she answers phones she knows and understands her field she's educated and she conducts herself with a great balance of candid and compassion that we all need more of ‍
