Your child can't travel or leave the area over holidays. Forget being ill, even though there's strict rules to protect the staff and other children about the symptoms they can have and what you need to bring them back and you are staying away for everyone's good. It is such an incredible stressor constantly worrying about losing those hard to get afterschool slots while also dealing with health issues and the complexities of a child who needs several therapies. I am not seeing any improvement in my son to keep dealing with this stress. If I can't find another therapy center close by, I will teach him to zip his zippers at home and schedule him activities he actually enjoys that will incorporate the skill building he needs. And the front office staff is rude, the back office people clearly don't talk and consult with eachother, because I was told it was fine when I cancelled after him throwing up three times on the way to therapy and then got a call the next day that he'd be dropped from the schedule with no additional warning and plan for makeups once he improved. And lobby always smells like diaper shit; I can barely stand to sit in there. Good riddance.

The focus during the sessions is to work on skills such as impulse control, transitions, and self maintenance (such as dressing himself). I love the transparency - I get to sit in the entire session and there is usually an assistant and a couple observers which is nice. It is nice because my son needs to become more comfortable in situations where more than just one other person is present. Since he started the OT sessions with Misael, my son's impulse control has improved noticeably. I am not sure why this facility overall has a low rank. However, the Autism Clinic has been terrific for my son. Without hesitation, if you are looking for OT to help your kiddo with ASD check out this place and ask for Misael.

Kindercare staff are the only people I trust with my children outside of family. Unfortunately, I cannot say that it has been a positive experience throughout her attendance because there have been several challenges amidst a few "good months". Initially the site seemed inviting and welcoming but we soon discovered that this center was largely focused on quantity over quality, numbers over value or the importance of establishing interpersonal relationships with clients/families. While we understand children's temperaments and personalities vary, we feel that several teachers/ members of staff did not demonstrate the capacity, grace or patience to work with children effectively (at least not ours). We were constantly called away from work to pick our daughter up for nuances and incidents that we felt could and should be handled by skilled/trained staff. Coincidentally there were rarely incident reports when our daughter was in the receiving end. Our daughter is very intelligent, inquisitive, confident, outspoken and decisive, she's quite vocal about how she is treated & independent but this was often misinterpreted as a negative behavior and observed as problematic. We as parents' worked diligently to address any/all issues that could be addressed concerning behavior but ultimately observed that as she was continuously being disciplined and her negative behaviors highlighted' we observed her slowly lose her spirit, zeal, fervor and enthusiasm to attend. At best, we dis-enrolled her because we don't want to curb her enthusiasm or change the trajectory of her scholastic experience at such a young and impressionable age. We would like her free-spirited demeanor, creativity, and exploration to be cultivated, supported and encouraged wherever she journeys next We are grateful for the opportunity for our daughter to have attended, garnered the friendships and interactive skills she has.

Their individualized exercises were exactly what she needed to build strength and coordination, and their guidance empowered me to continue her practice at home each day. I'll be honest, I was hesitant at first because of a terrible past experience we had with another partial hospitalization program (Pacific Grove in Riverside, CA. He started Kindergarten and had an excellent head start among many of his peers as to what they were expected to learn that year. His social and classroom skills were excellent and he genuinely loves going to school every day, which I attribute to the skills and preparation he received from his time at First Christian. When our son moved to Kindergarten, we took a brief break from First Christian... only a few months because soon after we started our baby girl in the infant class. It was such a relief the second time around to have full confidence that, from our experience of the years our son spent at First Christian, that our baby girl was in good hands and was getting the best care for her overall well being and development that we could hope for.
