My daughter received speech therapy w/ Ms. Renee (1yr) and occupational therapy with Mr Travis (4yrs). She always looked forward to her sessions.  Through the years the center was truly wonderful and accommodating with her needs. Our sessions were held in clinic and virtually. She was dependant on us for everything minor task. Working with Mr. Travis' she progressed significantly with day-to-day self-care.  Your kindness, hardwork and efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you

It was not effective at all. It was very difficult to keep a 3 year old engaged and locked in a high chair in front of a camera. The therapist that I did have quit working there due to horrible management per a discussion she shared with me. The therapist following her were not doing much engagement as the previous one so it became a waste of time and I ended up cancelling. I decided to try again and in person this time in hopes my son would have a better experience. The first therapist they assigned me temporarily, literally stuck his finger in his nose casually as I was discussing my child's eating issues and proceeded to put his hand in my child's snacks and pass one to my child to engage in eating. I then was assigned another therapist who I liked and I was teaching her how to warm up my sons food to a certain temperature he likes and I offered to go to the microwave to do so and I got a sense she didn't want me to as she kept trying to grab the bowl but I insisted and the microwave was absolutely disgusting. Old food splattered everywhere for who knows how long. It couldn't have been just that day. I let her know and she said she will let the cleaning staff know. She wouldn't allow me to microwave the food any more going forward. Most of the staff was rude so I never allowed my child to do therapy without me present. I have observed children being mistreated, I have seen therapist putting the child's food and a toy in front of them while the are glued to their phone. I witnessed a melt down that a therapist had in front of a special needs child because she couldn't handle his hyper behavior. Lack of training with autistic children and labeling it bad behavior. The facility was always dirty. Pink mold in the sinks and feces stains left in the toilet. Counters dirty and no sanitizing the toys and tools they used. The last straw for me was when I observed staff yanking my son off of the floor because my child wanted to explore a toy room on his way out because it was the end of their shift. The staff member had no idea I was following behind and once I told her to let my son go, she became surprised and started telling him good job for listening. My therapist then explained to her that I was mom and she changed her character right away. I feel bad for all the innocent parents that think their children are being handled appropriately while they wait in the lobby. I'm so glad I never let my child go back there alone. The place is a joke. I decided today that I will not be returning. I know there is not much therapy options being offered in my area but this is place is a disgrace. No sense in a complaint because it is privately owned and nothing will be done. I figured the best I can do is share my experience here in case you are considering this place for your child. If you do, I encourage you to stay in the sessions.

She has a ten week program and she eases you into the process of correcting and training your tongue. Each week you get a worksheet to follow along with and practice different training exercises each day. She's very easy to talk to and wants to see you succeed. She always makes herself available by phone, text, or email if you have any issues or questions. One of the things I appreciated the most about Kelly Brown is that she explained why each exercise she taught and assigned was going to help me and help eliminate my tongue thrust. You can feel the care and love Kelly has for you and your progress. Not only did Kelly help me work around my summer internship schedule but she encouraged me to shoot her a text if I was having any questions or difficulties. Both during my time at Selah Speech and Language and after. The worksheets she refers to as "homework" are amazingly helpful and I would suggest on keeping up with them! She even gave me a cute little purple squirt bottle for some tongue strengthing exercises. (I still have it!). She also gives out great snacks. I was referred by my orthodontist Dr. Larson and Kelly made me feel right at home. I would suggest anyone seeking speech therapy to Kelly Brown, I left my time at speech therapy with my tongue thrust fixed and feeling like I gained a friendship.

She began physical therapy very early (around five months old) and worked with several wonderful therapists before we were referred to Up and Movin' Physical Therapy to continue her care. Their individualized exercises were exactly what she needed to build strength and coordination, and their guidance empowered me to continue her practice at home each day. For over seven years, Kelli and her incredible team have loved Leif like he was one of their own. They have been by his side since he was just 18 months old, celebrating every milestone, every breakthrough, every challenge, and every victory. They never just treated him as a client they became part of our family. When Leif was diagnosed with autism, I had no idea what our future would look like. I worried if he would ever be able to tell me how he felt, make friends, or confidently navigate the world. Kelli gave my son something I can never fully repay her for she gave him a voice. Because of her patience, dedication, and unwavering belief in him, Leif has grown into the funny, smart, kind, and expressive little boy he is today. She helped him find words when he couldn't find them himself. She celebrated the victories that others may have overlooked and loved him through every setback. So much of who Leif is today has been shaped by the incredible work she and her team poured into him. There will never be enough words to thank Kelli and everyone at Playworks. Thank you for loving my boy so fiercely. Thank you for believing in him before he believed in himself. Thank you for every hour, every lesson, every high-five, every hug, and every ounce of encouragement you've given him over the years. Walking out those doors today was one of the hardest things I've done because it truly feels like we are saying goodbye to a chapter that helped shape our entire family. Kelli, thank you for changing our lives forever. You didn't just teach Leif how to communicate you helped him find his voice, his confidence, and pieces of himself that we weren't sure we'd ever get to see. We will carry everything you've given us into this next chapter, and no matter where life takes us, a piece of Playworks will always be part of Leif's story. From the bottom of this mama's heart... thank you. We love you more than words could ever express.
