Very happy with Dr. Liu! It was our first visit for my 3 week old today in regards to concerns we had from last night. I called first thing in the morning and I was able to get a same day appointment. When I called the office, it was a staff member who automatically picked up and I didn't have to go through any extensions to speak to a staff person. Dr. Liu himself was attentive and very kind. He also provided us with an after hours number to get a hold of him in case of an emergency and said that the number reaches him or the other pediatrician directly and not to hesitate to use it when needed. That level of care was a HUGE plus for me as the previous Dr I first took her too doesn't provide that type of accessibility. Being able to reach a Dr after hours makes a big difference for me as a first time mom. I'm very grateful that he provides families with that level of support/option. read more

Dr Liu is one of the best pediatricians I've dealt with. He is so thorough in his examination and very informative. Of course having a young baby every little thing can worry you, but he answered all my questions and was so reassuring it calmed my nerves. He even made sure to check up on my daughter after our trip to the ER to make sure everything was okay. If that's not 5++++ service I don't know what is. Not only was he so helpful his nurse was amazing. Unfortunately, im not sure of the spelling and don't want to mess It up. She was so sweet and reassuring. Regarding the front desk staff, I'm sure depending on the seasons you would call as some seasons can be busier, I've never had an issue with them. This review is long overdue! My boys have been seeing Dr. Liu since they were newborns, and they are now 4 and 5. Dr. Liu is great with kids and very patient. He is great at explaining things and has a very pleasant voice, it is very soothing and calming. The one thing I love most about this office is that I can usually get a same day or next day appt for my boys when they are sick. I have also called their after hours phone number and either Dr. Liu or Dr. Tsai always picked up right away. Also, someone from the office always picks up the phone when I call. Some doctor offices are impossible to get a hold of. But the front desk could improve on their etiquette. The front office in any medical practice is the first thing that a patient sees when walking through the door. As the first thing that a patient sees, it's crucially important that the interaction and perspective that a patient sees sets the tone for what they can expect from the practice. Not only that, but those patients must feel a warmth and a positive presence at each interaction. That positive presence will set the tone for what that patient comes to expect and why that patient wants to be in your practice. With that being said, I've never had a bad experience with the front desk staff and they weren't ever rude, but they can definitely work on greeting patients with a smile and friendly attitude, acknowledging them when they sign in on the clipboard, and make them feel welcome. Dr. Liu is my son's pediatrician. We've seen him 2 times already and he's pretty nice and good with kids. We are first time parents to a 2 month old and he takes time to answer our questions and doesn't rush through appointments. That being said however, he has tons of patients and the wait time is always really long lol. Oh well, it comes with the territory of being a good pediatrician I guess :) They just moved to a new office and everything is clean and nice and the staff is very friendly. Dr. Liu is amazing as well as the receptionist and nurses. Dr.Liu is the first doctor for kids that I trust and think is really great. When my few days old daughter was jaundiced, he was so helpful and explained everything so well. When my son was a newborn and was jaundiced at Kaiser, it was a horrible experience, but Dr.Liu is just so great. She's now five months and she and my 5 year old son go to him. Sad to have to write this review but seems it's the only way to reach out to the dr's there so they know how their front desk is operating. My kids are currently sick with heavy cough. I wanted to get them seen today but I have been calling and calling. 1st call, receptionist says there's 2 calls ahead of me and places me on hold. The call forwards to an automated message after 8 mins of waiting. It says to leave a message but the mailbox is full. 2nd call, I explain to the girl that I was already holding and my call got forwarded, she continued to tell me that 3 calls are ahead of me and placed me on hold anyway. Same deal. I call a 3rd time, told her the same thing, she placed me on hold anyway. No worries, my kids will just die. Thanks for nothing. Will look for another med group. Dr. Liu is great but not worth the lousy system and staff. Please do your research before selecting a dr for your children. read more

Dr Liu is a very good doctor but the staff or the clinic is just unbearable. It is almost impossible to get an appointment if you child is sick and the staff on the phone will tell you unless the fever has been going on for four days, you don't get to see doctor. Another time my wife called and they said no appointment and referred us to urgent care in Rancho Cucamonga. If this doctor is only good for routine visits with appointments a month ahead, then you better pray that your child don't get sick if you want to use this pediatrician. I hate to lose Dr Liu but it's just ridiculous. It's like trying to schedule surgery with months of waiting list. There are two doctors at this office. My review is for Dr Liu. He is AMAZING. He LISTENS to you, he lets you speak and doesn't interrupt or rush you. Perhaps that's why some people don't give this doctor a 5 star because sometimes the wait time could be long but that's because he's with another patient taking his time explaining everything to the child's parent. The best time to make an appt is in the morning. If you make an appt in the afternoon, you could possibly wait more than 40 mins past your appt to be seen. Also, no other doctor I've heard of give you his work cell phone number to call in case you have an EMERGENCY question. Yep, him and the other doctor will answer any EMERGENCY questions after working hours. He has saved me a couple of trips to the emergency room but most of all he has saved me so much money because those hospital bills are INSANE. I love Dr. Liu. He's amazing read more

My 6month old daughter had a fever last night. Her temperature reached to 102.7 around 1am. As a new mom I was very nervous!feeling helpless and idk wt to do to make her feel better ... I remembered dr.liu has given me a # to call when emergency. So I did~I thought it's gonna be an answering service person who's gonna take a msg first,but the person who answered was dr.liu ! He patiently answered all my questions & gave me directions of how to take the medication. I field very bad I had to call him so late @ night...but he was very nice to come me down and told me it's okay~that I don't have to feel bad about it. Dr. Liu is WONDERFUL! He gives a thorough answer to every question we have. He respects our decision to have a different vaccine schedule. He and his colleague are on call during non-business hours which has been very helpful for us. He is very kind, caring, and humble pediatrician. I highly recommend him. The reason why I give 4 stars and not 5 is because of the wait. I've always had an appointment and yet I've never been seen on time. I usually get called in 30-45 mins AFTER my scheduled appointment. After the nurse checks vitals, it's about another 15-20 mins until Dr. Liu walks in. I really wish doctors' offices would stop scheduling so many people at once AND that people would arrive on time. read more

I have been taking my son to this office to see Dr. Liu since he was a couple months old. I have never had a bad experience. I am currently bringing my newborn daughter here now also. I have seen doctor Chi before when Dr Liu wasn't available. They are both amazing! The office staff and front desk women are very personable and helpful. I completely trust them with my children. My daughter had her first sets of shots recently and the medical assistant noticed her legs were very skinny still so she switched to smaller needles. Little things like this that shows they care and are knowledgeable regardless of how busy they may be! I absolutely recommend this office! I love them and I love Dr. Liu! Recently switched insurance and was most apprehensive about finding a new pediatrician for my sons. SO HAPPY I found Dr. Liu!!!!! Took my boy in for the first time today, didn't know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised by Dr. Liu's professional yet down to earth demeanor and approach. I love that he wasn't wearing a stuffy lab coat, which made him feel more "real" and less intimidating, as doctors can sometimes come off. He had a great, friendly repore with my 8 year old and when we left my son asked, "is that my new doctor? I really like him!" Of course this was music to my ears as a mom! My kid has never been excited about seeing a doctor before! Front desk staff was also very sweet and welcoming, I arrived to our 9:30am appointment early, knowing we would need to fill our paper work, and was able to be seen much sooner (8:55am) as earlier appointments hadn't shown up yet. Nice! Nothing like getting in and out , ahead of schedule! Dr. Liu was very attentive and helpful, he took his time and I didn't feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient, which was a great feeling. Having been a member of Kaiser Permanente for so many years, I had just gotten used to feeling a like a number on the doctors clipboard, not an actual person. Dr. Liu taking his time with us was a breath of fresh air and was much appreciated. I also had trouble with my flexible spending medical cards, had 3 cards decline before one actually went through and the front desk team member was SO sweet and didn't make me feel bad, saying it happens sometimes. If you have a child with special needs, you are now warned not to bring your child here. My daughter has a rare condition and we been a patient for almost 3 years. It seems long but I think the ONLY times she truly is seen by him was when she has a typical cold. She is mainly followed by specialists at Children Hospital of OC. At first he seemed quite pleasant but as things get complicated or should I say as my daughter became more severe, anything from helping me to understand her MRI report to just prescribing antibiotics is differcult to deal with him. On one occasion I asked him details, meaning explain to me what her MRI report means. His reaction in my daughter nurse present in which she even felt he had a cocky demeanor was, "it's pretty self explanatory". Really!?! I am not a doctor, that is why I am here asking you! I had to go back and contact her doctors out at Choc to explain it to me. This is not ok!! You might be an acceptable doctor dealing with kids whom doesn't have a severe disorder like mine or any, but you need to seriously look into your bedside manner. The only person that helped me through my terrible ordeal was his nurse Roxanne. She is great and if you want anything done, go to her! Maybe you should learn from her! Once we filed a complaint to my daughter insurance, he starts to somewhat act decent but it was pretty obvious he understand that I am not ok dealing with someone like that. I don't have the time nor energy to deal with someone whom acts like he just graduated from medical school. read more
