Dr. Phan and his entire team are absolute angels. Every single person we've encountered in this…read moreoffice has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. We started bringing our firstborn in before she turned one, and from the very beginning, we were so thankful to have found this practice. Dr. Phan is thorough, kind, and direct. He makes both me and my husband laugh, and he always makes us feel heard and validated. He listens attentively to our concerns, provides sound, evidence-based advice, and truly demonstrates compassion and care with every visit. I just had our second baby on May 15. I was able to get an appointment scheduled the very next day (a Friday) for the following Monday morning. At that visit, we learned that our baby had lost 12% of her birth weight. This exact thing happened with our first, and our old pediatrician handled it terribly--immediately mentioning "failure to thrive" and making us feel panicked and inadequate. So this time, as Dr. Phan was gently walking me through the next steps, I started crying. But instead of jumping straight to suggesting formula, he encouraged me to take care of myself first and to pump to see what my output was. To my surprise, I was producing plenty of milk. That encouragement lit a fire in me--and by that Friday, our baby girl was already back to her birth weight. I am endlessly grateful for Dr. Phan. He was encouraging, compassionate, and honest throughout the process. Most importantly, he reassured me that he wasn't concerned about our baby's health, which gave me an incredible sense of peace. His calm confidence was the complete opposite of the fear and guilt we were met with from our previous pediatrician. Nurse Practitioner Ms. Shayla is also absolutely lovely--and our toddler adores her. For a while, our daughter was terrified of doctor visits, but Ms. Shayla completely changed that. She made her feel safe and comfortable, to the point where our daughter now chats her ear off the moment she walks in the room. Ms. Shayla has been a true gift in building trust and warmth around medical care for our little one. The front office and nursing staff are incredible as well. They are helpful, kind, patient, and consistently accommodating--especially when something urgent comes up. We always feel supported, never dismissed or rushed. Honestly, we never want to leave this area solely because of this practice. If we ever move, we're already prepared to make the drive back just to keep Dr. Phan and his team in our lives. Seriously--this office is amazing, and we are so, so grateful. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a pediatrician who leads with knowledge, compassion, and heart.

The first time I sat in the waiting room an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment to be seen just for the dr to brush off every concern. The whole visit took over 2 hours and there was only 1 other patient. The 2nd time was 3 weeks later and I showed up 10 min early for a 10am appointment. The receptionist took vitals and the dr wasn't even in the building. We sat in the waiting room for over 40 min before deciding to leave. The dr drove past me as I was leaving the parking lot lot. Apparently coming in late is becoming a normal practice for this dr. Beware this is not a medical group. This is one individual dr that runs this office. If she's not there on time youre waiting for her. I see she used to get great reviews, but maybe time has taken its tole and the quality isn't there anymore.

The office staff is horribly rude, unhelpful and simply don't give a damn. I had a mishap with my daughter's athletic clearance for school and I needed a copy of her clearance prior to her 9 am camp/tryouts for her school sport.... I called them at 8:01. She informed me they'd have to call me later since they had to actually go look in her file. When I told her I needed it by 9 she told me she couldn't guarantee that and seemed annoyed. Thankfully she called me back within a couple minutes, but refused to email me a copy or any other route of getting it me. I had to drive 25 minutes out to the office to get it, now my daughter is late to her first day of camp/tryouts. When I showed up to get it, the one I spoke to on the phone wouldn't even turn around to look at me. By the way when I arrived their waiting room was empty. You mean to tell me in 2025 in the era of "paperless" there was NO way to get me this document! Email? Mychart? Seriously. Wow!

I took my son to see Dr. Monfared because he was sick. After examining him, she recommended a strep…read moretest, and my husband and I agreed. She later returned and told us that my son tested positive for strep. I then asked if my husband and I could also be tested, and she later told us that all three of us tested positive. However, we were not shown the test results. She prescribed antibiotics for my son. I asked if she could also prescribe antibiotics for my husband and me, but she said she could not, which I understood. After leaving, I decided to seek a second opinion the same day. Another doctor tested all three of us for strep, and all of the results came back negative. That doctor also showed us the actual test results. To be thorough, we also went to Hoag Urgent Care later that same day for another test, and those results also came back negative for strep. Both places told us that what my son has is most likely viral and does not require antibiotics. I want to give Dr. Monfared the benefit of the doubt, but this experience was very concerning. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the testing process, the test kit, or some other explanation. It was frightening because I was very close to giving my baby--who is under 18 months old--antibiotics that may not have been necessary. This situation was especially disappointing because I had hoped she could become my son's pediatrician. It is very easy to make appointments, often even on the same day, the office is close to us, and she appears to be easy to talk to.
