We have seen Dr…read more Nylander and NP Jennifer Maccio several times and have been pleased with the interactions each time. Both are so kind, patient, and loving with my children. They ask good questions and make sure all of my questions are answered. The longest wait time I've had here is 15 minutes which is so great when trying to get sick kids seen. They also have Saturday and Sunday care which is SO helpful. The front office is happy and it reflects into the practice.

All of the staff exude confidence in every type of interaction, even when Covid was an unexpected curveball. As a first-time mom, I interviewed several pediatricians in the area. I can only imagine how pediatricians get tired of being "interviewed" by nervous parents, but Dr. McNulty was very reassuring, even with my 'stupid' questions. She personally came to the hospital on a Sunday morning 12 hours after our daughter was born just to check on both of us. I am especially grateful for their attention to my postpartum. They are the only pediatrician's office I found in the area who has their doctors rotate being 'on-call' instead of sending after-hours calls to a service. I love how I get a call back from a Mia Bella doctor when I have urgent questions. It's so reassuring. We've been a patient for over five years, and we have always received outstanding care!

We were then charged additional out-of-pocket fees on top of that. At the office's direction, we contacted their billing department to dispute the remaining balance due to the minimal nature of the treatment provided. Unfortunately, the charges were not adjusted. We understand healthcare has costs, and we respect medical professionals' time and expertise. However, we believe billing should be reasonable and proportionate to the services rendered. Because of this experience, we've decided to seek care elsewhere. We're sharing this so other families can be informed and ask detailed questions about treatment and billing upfront.

She treats you like you're a peasant who is seeking free service. I was very close to having a breakdown because of her poor behavior. I explained to her that my daughter (born only two months ago) had insurance. She was born at Hoag Hospital in the same complex and has been seeing Dr. G since birth. I explained she had insurance, but I didn't have the ID number memorized. I said I would call once I got home in an hour to provide the member ID number but I could provide the group ID number in the meantime. This receptionist was incredibly rude and kept saying that our visit would be marked as a cash visit and she won't bill the insurance. She needs training on bed side manners.

Ive never had a bad experience with a pediatrician and it feels icky to share but I cannot allow…read morethem to treat patients with no empathy, no bedside manner, and being cold to every concern and question. Every interaction felt like a business transaction, prescribing me antibiotics and sending me on my way so that I don't bother them again. I never feel heard or understood. Both my kids, 2 and 4 months were seen here by two different providers. My daughter's provider started being short and un kind when I shared I wanted to do an alternative vaccine schedule. During sick visits, she barely spoke and just prescribed antibiotics. When I asked her questions regarding her illness' she was dismissive and annoyed that i asked. I felt like i was a burden to her and that she hated her job and was trying to get through her day as quickly as she can. When taking simple Measurements like weight and height, the medical assistant didn't even tell me what they were. My son's provider was so rude and made me cry. She told me My son potentially had something wrong with his brain due to his small head size and I needed to do genetic testing because of his small head. She kept reminding me at each appointment even though I didn't believe there was anything wrong with him. I told her that I didn't believe anything was wrong, and that he was meeting milestones and developing. She took incorrect head measurements of his head and one time didn't even measure his head at all. She was dismissive of my questions when I was stressed out and looking for answers on the potential case of microcephaly. I ended up getting testing and seeing a pediatric neurosurgeon at CHOC who confirmed that my son is perfectly healthy and there's nothing wrong with him. I've had to call the front of house staff three times to ask them for a referral to neurosurgery and ask them to transfer my medical records and they never did. It was so frustrating when I came to my neurosurgery appointment and the surgeon never received critical medical records that I had called for three times. My last appointment was made with my son's provider and the provider had recently left, and the clinic didn't bother to let me know and automatically rescheduled me with someone else that I didn't want to see without telling me as well.

We have three very different children and he's been excellent with all of them. In fact, for a while my daughter was with another doctor, but we switched her to Dr Mike because of how comfortable he makes the kids feel. Dr Mike also has a functional medicine philosophy, looking at health from a perspective of the whole child, not just treating symptoms as they come up. I'm honestly not sure what we are going to do once my kids age out of his practice. Dr Mike has been a partner with us and I'm so glad we found him 17 years ago.

So many healthcare givers these days are very pushy towards providing the same line of treatment for every patient but Dr. Jones is not. She listens to your needs and will treat conservatively based on what's best for you and your child. Her staff, Denise and Brianna are amazing with little ones and make the doctor visits so much fun. They've been working at the office for a long time, which also shows it's a great place to work. The only other feedback is that wait times can be very long, as with most doctor's offices. So plan ahead for that. If it's your first time here, plan to leave a bit early since the Kaleidoscope area and construction can get quite backed up. Even if we move further away I'd still make the drive to bring my kiddos here. They also have fun when they visit and look forward to it, so that is also very telling! :)

Dr. Jones personally said she could squeeze us in the next day specifically due to the concern -- but when we arrived, she dismissed the issue almost immediately. Despite our midwife and even we as parents being able to clearly hear the irregularity through a stethoscope and see it on a pulse ox screen, Dr. Jones insisted that no one could hear (not diagnose but HEAR) an arrhythmia without an EKG. She barely listened for a few seconds and said she couldn't hear anything. Dr. Jones refused to take our concern seriously and ultimately was really rude and arrogant in how she talked to us even though we were understandably concerned and emotional about the situation with our newborn. This was incredibly upsetting, as it was the entire reason for our visit and the only reason we scheduled with her in the first place. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit was equally disappointing. No one greeted us when we arrived, even though Dr. Jones and the receptionist were both sitting at the front desk and appeared unoccupied. We were then kept waiting for 30 minutes past our appointment time. When she finally saw us, she didn't introduce herself, made dismissive and rude remarks about our choices for basic medical decisions, and generally lacked warmth or professionalism. Their billing system is another major issue as other reviewers have emphasized -- they didn't take our copay at the time of the visit, and we still haven't received a bill weeks later. They also communicate using a Gmail address, which is not HIPAA-compliant, and fail to practice informed consent in any meaningful way. For comparison, our usual pediatrician and their team are incredibly warm, respectful, and professional. They greet us every time, take our concerns seriously, and offer comfortable seating (something that sounds small but really matters when you've just given birth!) and nursing accommodations. The experience with Dr. Jones and this office could not have been more different. We won't be returning.

I understand that working in a call center and medical office can be demanding, and I appreciate the efforts of your team. However, after several appointments over the past few months, I have noticed some areas that may benefit from improvement. Today, while trying to schedule an appointment for my child, I found that very few appointment times were available, and the interaction felt somewhat lacking in empathy. As parents, when we call regarding our children's health, we are often concerned and looking for reassurance as well as assistance. I have also noticed that many appointments seem to be handled by nurses rather than physicians. While I appreciate the nurses and their hard work, there have been times when the care and guidance provided did not feel as thorough as expected. Even when a child appears to have a simple cold or virus, I believe every concern should be approached with caution, attentiveness, and respect. Having lived in several states and worked professionally as an operations consultant, I have experienced many healthcare systems. I genuinely believe there are opportunities to improve scheduling access, patient communication, and the overall service experience for families. My intention is not to criticize, but to provide constructive feedback in the hope that it helps create a better experience for your staff, parents, and most importantly, the children who are your patients.
