Just contracted Ace to move my daughter from Connecticut to Florida. Everything from the consultation to the pick up and delivery was efficient and top notch. The pick up crew arrived ON TIME, labeled everything and packed her items quickly. They provided her with a tracking number to track the progress. When they arrived in Florida (ON TIME), the drop off was also quick and efficient. Nothing was damaged. Best movers I've worked with ever! They were friendly, patient, accommodating, and meticulous. I got a couple lower quotes prior to getting theirs, but I've moved enough times to know that those movers were lowballing me to get my business. One claimed my move was a one-day move! Bull! If I had gone with them, they would have been lobbing my stuff into the truck. It was a four-day move, and Ace had to work their asses off to do that. It was a massive move! If you want customer service that does not even show the bare minimum with regards to your move - this is the company for you! I booked a cross-country move from CT to CA in August through United Van & Storage. Ace was the local carrier that picked up my belongings and was my contact throughout the process. My stuff was set to be delivered on September 1 in California...and two days, one day before the move I had not heard anything. I hadn't received any updates about when my things would arrive. I called Tom Mulrooney (my contact) and he couldn't even tell me where my belongings were. So, I had to call EVERY DAY for TWO WEEKS and I kept getting the same nonchalant reaction - "Oh, I'll give the carrier a call." "I can't get an answer" and my favorite email which I received almost two weeks after my set move-in date "I dont know what to tell you." I then emailed the owner of the company to let him know what atrocious customer service I have received and he told me that I had not been abandoned (gaslighting) - despite the fact that the agent Tom NEVER ONCE CALLED ME WITH AN UPDATE. I had to live in an empty apartment with no furniture for two weeks with an elderly dog. And I get it, the pandemic, things happen. But, to have such an uncaring attitude when literally all my worldly possessions are somewhere and no one can either tell me where they are or even pretend like they cared to call with an update. It speaks volumes as well when I finally got the owner on the phone, he said he would call on the date that my stuff finally arrived to check in (which never happened). I did end up getting my stuff a full 15 days late, for which i received $100 a day back for each day it was late. However, I was never told about that condition by Ace either - I had to finally escalate myself to United Corporate. (And I would have rather had my belongings than the money tbh). So, if you want to be completely stressed out by a move, with the onus on you to check in every day on where your things are, and speak to people who can't even pretend to care about trying to find your stuff - then this is truly the company for you. read more

I was recommended by a number of people, had them come give me a quote, called and scheduled a date 2 younger guys come very nice worked very hard I was so kind gave them breaks, food drinks etc...Next day I go to unpack and ALL OF MY GOLD JEWLERY WAS GONE.I called spoke to wife and husband owners and they stated they have never had a problem of such, am not making this up. My engagement ring, wedding band and much more I am sick over this,a very happy time in our lives turned sad.I called & spoke to the owners asking if he drug tested his workers, also stated just have them leave it and I will pay them it cost me $1072.00 plus around $25,000.00 in jewelery!! The guys showed up at exactly 8:30 am and could not have been nicer or worked any harder or faster. They moved all of my furniture and a huge sofa out of my apartment and down a flight of stairs without missing a step. Then they placed everything in my new place just where is belongs. They even got a full sized mattress and box spring up to the loft in my new place like it wasn't an issue at all. I hate to say it-but I would NEVER use ACE Storage again. My condo was foreclosed and all my furniture and belongings were sent to ACE Van and Storage. Within 3 weeks I wanted to retrieve my belongings. Well over 40% of my belongings are missing and ACE does not have them. Lost all my cloths and various furniture items. Many of my furniture pieces were damaged in the move. To say I am disappointed is mild as to how I really feel. I have a feeling that ACE took a lot of my items and put them in their auctions. Movers broke table and hooked up washer incorrectly and caused water damage to ceiling. When we called they said they don't hook up washers and the crew stated that they never hooked up washer. The move was for my 82 yo mother. When she called person was rude and called her a liar. 2 people saw mover hooked up washer. Will contact lawyer and BBB. I will say table was fixed. read more

After reading reviews (and complaints) from all the other moving companies in our area I was a total wreck about moving until a friend recommended Ace. We moved from Durham to Wallingford and we were moving the contents of a 4,000 sq. foot house into a house about 1/2 the size. I was worried about a lot of my treasured heirlooms handed down from grandparents, along with other household items. From the original walk through and estimate with Tom in the office, to the final move this company is TOP NOTCH! They were professional, courteous, friendly and fast working. They cared for our things as if they were their own; even took the time to re-wrap and/or box glass items to ensure they would be secure. They labeled anything they touched so I would know what it was. All requests were treated as priority; they truly kept saying "whatever you want". Knowing that both my husband and I have back issues, they were quick to tell me not to try to lift. All I heard was "Don't do it...I'll get that!". They also had to store the items for 2 nights because the closing on the new house was delayed. I was not worried at all about my belongings as I knew they would be secured. There were no last minute charges or true up items. The estimate was spot on. If you use them, ask for the crew of Clint, Mike, Jeremy & Wayne - those guys are THE BEST. In fact, they were so good on the move out, that I immediately called the office and requested them for the move in. This is crazy to say, but they felt like family, whom better to work with? We hired this company to move us a very short distance (we had a LOT of stuff). They were very good. Punctual, polite, good teamworkers (had a crew of 3), not too much chitter-chatter. They moved some stuff that I didn't think humans were capable of! I was very nervous about using movers (first-timer) and everything was great. Ace Van and Storage provides the kind of old-fashioned service that is very hard to get any more. Mind you, I am writing this review only after my stuff was packed and picked up and not after it has been delivered. I will provide the second half at that time, hopefully will be as kind and appreciative as this one. First, they pick up the phone during office hours. There is always someone who will direct your call or give you info. For someone who was juggling moving out of the country, this was very useful in not making me waste my time. They are also very prompt at returning messages if you happen to call after hours. Second, Tom Mulrooney, the estimator, knows his stuff, and was very flexible in adjusting my estimate every time we added or took things away. I expected him to get grouchy at some point, but he was always diligent and very gracious. Even after they picked up my stuff and he was asked to provide a new Bill of Lading so I could cross the border, he stayed late and gave me one as soon as he coudl finish it, on a late Firday evening. He gets a prize! Third, The crew lead by Clint was amazing: Clint was a true gentleman, affable, patient and KIND, who also was super proficient and did his job with dedication and effectiveness. I was amazed at his attention to detail and how patinet he was with me (who was a ball of nerves!). I left the two other members of the crew some space of their own, because these two men, were not only helpful and knew what they were doing, but kept a light sense of humor and treated me, Clint and each other with care, kindness and respect. They worked non-stop from 830 to 530 and I never heard a complaint nor a grunt! As the day progressed, their incredibly helpful and kind behavior helped me feel progressively calmer and relieved. Used these guys twice within a few weeks. When I first arrived in CT from MN, they moved me in. It was an ok experience, not great, but better than average. We stumbled upon Ace movers this past week when we were looking for a firm to move portions of our household in the northwest corner of CT to a second home just outside New Haven. Boy, were we lucky to have found them! Ace's estimate of costs for the move was the lowest of any of the (many) movers we contacted -- and then, when the actual move was complete, even though we added a few significant items, the final cost was fully 15% less than their written estimate! None of this would have been worth it if the movers hadn't been timely and competent, but Pat and Mike were that and more. They arrived right in the time window we had been led to expect. They went out of their way to be helpful, taking care to protect our pieces and showing real concern that we were satisfied with their placement of furniture in our new house.
