John originally took the details of my move, and since he's actually in retirement, his very capable daughter Melissa completed the details. i couldn't be more satisfied with all of the personal attention, and patience this family showed me during my move. 4 mirrors, 4 framed prints, fragile antique furniture, heavy items, all arriving intact and unbroken. The actual muscle of the move, a gentleman named Henry, has 30 years experience, with no sign of slowing down in his work. His assistant, Jose, was also a gentle giant, showing care and ability in maneuvering large, heavy items. Both were really friendly, working efficiently. Also, did i mention, 11 boxes of books, in addition to the furniture....so heavy... hard work done efficiently, and professionally. Henry and Jose showed up exactly on time. Melissa in the main office answered the phone cheerfully each and every time i called, (i'm a bit of a nervous nelly...I don't know how she put up with me..) and she absolutely understood every nuance of my concerns. The actual cost of this move came in almost exactly at the estimate. The time estimate was accurate within the hour, ditto the labor estimate. Clearly, these guys know what they are doing. I ordered a mini they came to my house but my driveway (very short and very steep) was to small to maneuver the mini up. So 1 call to Renee and she had a moving truck the next morning for me. Fast forward 5 years. I am moving again this time the mini goes perfect in my driveway. Day 1 of loading its clear I under estimated how much stuff I had and I need another. I dealt with 3 different people, one to set up, one to pick up and one to drop off. Everyone knew what I had, when and where I needed to go, and the drivers were amazing! In September 2015 I came back to CT and requested to get into my storage. They were able to accommodate me and had someone there to help me find those two boxes and other things that I needed to retrieve. The guy who helped me was very nice. Then in the summer of 2016 when I moved back to CT, I had to change the date they were bringing me stuff several times (due to a change in my closing date), and they changed it without any hesitation, each time. They changed the date 3-4 times and then were professional when it was delivered. I also did not find anything broken.

After researching other companies around, this was definitely the best-priced quote (and no hidden fees at the end!!) Nate was the person who finished setting everything up for me. We are sorry to say that the quality of RT Relocation moving service was below standard. Please…read morenote that despite close to $15,000 in moving expenses with this company and their assurance of safe delivery of several heirlooms, China and furniture, they arrived damaged. They stated that since we packed it ourselves and we also marked our totes as fragile, that waives their responsibility and compensation. Then why pay for packing material? I could supply more pics of other broken items but, one can see the damage. They dumped all the items from our bureaus into a box with no packaging material. They stated during the quote process that they would just wrap these pieces. This move was a complete nightmare! Their third party claims review is only compensating $79 for all the damage. This doesn't even cover the hole in the wall that the movers did in our new bedroom hallway. If you are in the market for white glove delivery, RT Relocation is not a company I would recommend.

They were friendly, professional, punctual, and did a great job getting everything organized both on the truck and once the stuff was moved to the new location. They made sure I was happy with the placement of stuff in the new place before they left and I never felt rushed. My only advice if you hire these guys: they are FAST, so make sure you are ready to go when they get there and that you know where everything is going to end up (mark boxes, notes in rooms, etc). If I ever move again (hopefully not!) I'll definitely hire these guys again. Considering they are very competitively priced for the truck and the team they are worth every penny. Their price also includes a lot more than other companies. In addition to the moving team (I think it's typically 4 movers), the price includes the truck and all the equipment on the truck (blankets, dollies, etc), which isn't the case with other area movers.
