Edit: I am updating my negative review in the positive direction…read more TLDR: I was happy with the owner and should I need moving help, would happily give Two Brothers a call. After seeing my review I received a call from the owner (Christoper) and we had a cordial conversation. He went over my concerns and addressed them to my satisfaction. I will go over each concern in order. The original review is further below. 1) Yelp apparently does not give businesses the opportunity to put anything on the page to properly set expectations. While the page on Yelp says users will get a quote based on the questions it asks, it apparently doesn't gather sufficient information to allow the movers to do so. Therefore the setting an incorrect expectation of getting a quote after supplying the requested info is a problem on the Yelp side and not something Two Brothers can impact in any way. 2) Apparently Yelp forwards the information entered to multiple parties to give them an opportunity to compete without informing users they are doing so. In my case, the anonymous text I received seems to be from a competitor rather than from Two Brothers. 3) The part of not giving me a call back in an hour (called the next day instead) as promised was an error on their part and Christopher took responsibility for it. He said there was no way to know if they will be free in that amount of time because they won't hang up on someone or otherwise interrupt assisting another client to give someone a call back. The employee should have said he would attempt to call back in an hour but would call back no later than next day. In short, I found Christopher responsive, professional, quite cordial, and pleasant to speak with. As stated above, I would happily give them a call should I need moving services again in CT. ------------------------------------- Initial review follows: ------------------------------------- Based on my experience attempting to get a quote, I don't think I will be using this company. I filled out the Yelp form to get a quote. Instead of a quote, I received a text back about 10 minutes later from a person who didn't identify themselves or their company. It said to expect a call tomorrow to go over how they can help me. The unidentified person said I should contact them if I didn't hear back. The next morning I did get a call but it was at a time when I had a prior appointment and couldn't talk. I asked if they could call back a little later and the person agreed to call me back in an hour. I never received the call back. Essentially they fell short multiple times in setting expectations and keeping commitments (yelp quote not provided when the info was provided on their form, not identifying themselves when contacting me, not verifying a convenient time to call, not giving the promised call back. All of this may be considered minor but it is a pattern. I can only imagine what I would have to go through if a major problem came up and I had a similar experience in trying to get assistance. I'll be exploring other options to see if anyone else can display a higher level of reliability and professionalism on the first contact.

They were friendly, professional, punctual, and did a great job getting everything organized both on the truck and once the stuff was moved to the new location. They made sure I was happy with the placement of stuff in the new place before they left and I never felt rushed. My only advice if you hire these guys: they are FAST, so make sure you are ready to go when they get there and that you know where everything is going to end up (mark boxes, notes in rooms, etc). If I ever move again (hopefully not!) I'll definitely hire these guys again. Considering they are very competitively priced for the truck and the team they are worth every penny. Their price also includes a lot more than other companies. In addition to the moving team (I think it's typically 4 movers), the price includes the truck and all the equipment on the truck (blankets, dollies, etc), which isn't the case with other area movers. I made it clear that I had a lot of large, heavy furniture and I also told them the sizes of the two storage units that I wanted emptied and brought to my new house. I specifically asked if it would all fit and if they would make multiple trips. I was quoted a price for six hours including tax. They did bring most of the large, heavy stuff but took NONE of the boxes. Now I am left to empty half of a 10x25 unit in MANY trips in my car. Not only that, but one of the movers spent a lot of time trying to get out a splinter (using tweezers that I offered) and using the bathroom and the other guy stood around waiting for him. This caused me to be charged for an extra hour. I'm grateful for what they did, but it wasn't as much as I was expecting. I'm older and on a limited budget so I went with the lower priced option because she said they would handle it, but they didn't and now my arthritic knees and back are paying for it.

The actual muscle of the move, a gentleman named Henry, has 30 years experience, with no sign of slowing down in his work. His assistant, Jose, was also a gentle giant, showing care and ability in maneuvering large, heavy items. Both were really friendly, working efficiently. Also, did i mention, 11 boxes of books, in addition to the furniture....so heavy... hard work done efficiently, and professionally. Henry and Jose showed up exactly on time. He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. We hired 2 Bros to load a storage trailer getting hauled to California…read more The good: - easy to communicate with over Yelp - brought straps (that we could buy off them) to secure the contents in the trailer - saved us $$ by packing the trailer tightly (2 feet less space than expected) The not great: - they wrapped only one piece of our couch in saran wrap, which protected the piece, but our other couch sections and bed were dirty from the inside of the trailer - CA side, many of our boxes marked as "fragile" were slightly caved in because there were many levels of boxes loaded on top of them. I'm thankful that nothing is broken, but it was tense seeing so many boxes with bent sides on the other end of the move
