Our family has relocated across state lines multiple times, but unfortunately, this was by far our worst moving experience. Several factors contributed to our one-star rating: Exorbitant Insurance Costs - The insurance options were unreasonably priced, nearly 50% of the total move cost, and still required a deductible. This felt more like a cash grab than genuine coverage. Unfair Pricing Adjustments - We conducted a detailed video walkthrough for the company to provide an accurate quote. To cut costs, we donated five or six large, heavy furniture pieces before the move. However, the company refused to adjust the price downward, claiming that additional packing time offset the difference in volume. Poor Load Security - Our belongings were not properly secured in the moving truck. Upon delivery, multiple, heavy duty plastic totes had crushed corners, indicating a lack of care in handling. Mishandling of Fragile Items - Despite being clearly marked "FRAGILE" with arrows indicating the correct orientation, several boxes were stacked upside down or sideways, leading to unnecessary damage. Property Damage - Over $1,000 worth of damage occurred during the move, including scuffs and marks on the floors of our new home, further adding to the frustration. Communication Barriers - Of the six or seven crew members, only two spoke English, and while they were kind, it was evident that serious miscommunication was occurring throughout the process. We feel terrible needing to leave a negative review, but want to warn others or encourage improvement. If nothing is said, nothing will be improved. read more

If anyone is looking to hire movers you should consider this company. They were very professional from start to finish. The customer service in setting up the quote was great and the movers wrapped everything up in blankets and then wrapped the blankets with more wrap over that, and everything we moved arrived safely and without any type of damage. They also were extremely patient and offered suggestions of how to fit the large amount of stuff that we moved from a house into an much smaller in law apartment - highly recommended! We have had a very disappointing experience with RT Relocation. Getting a quote and our initial move into storage went well, but when it came to delivery it was an entirely different story. The initial move out quote was $16,537.14 at 12,800 lbs to the general Phoenix area. But when we were ready for the actual move, the price became $17,707.73 at 12,240 lbs to our specific address in Gilbert which was closer than Phoenix. Even though the team cut that increase in half by $585.30, it had the feeling of our belongings being held hostage and not really having a choice. If the weight and miles were both less, and the price of gas ($4.889 on 9/26/22 versus $5.754 June 2022) dropped as well, this increase made absolutely zero sense. With these facts in mind, not only should there not have been additional costs from the original quote, it should have decreased. When I raised this with operations, they justified the increase in part due to an incorrect quote their staff person made. Yet, given their error, they insisted on making us pay for their mistake. When I discussed the final payment with Tiffany, I expressed concern about paying in full before the move out questioning what happens if we paid in full and didn't get our stuff. She laughed at me and insisted that they didn't want to keep our belongings, yet our fear of things missing was exactly what happened. On our move in day, it took them an hour to find 11.57% of our things that were missing and not in the truck. Turns out they forgot an entire storage unit, which unfortunately contained our most valuable piece of furniture, irreplaceable family pictures, our dinning room table legs, half our plates and cups, our grill, and all our hardware for hanging pictures and art on the walls. Especially for the hour we thought all of these things were gone, you can imagine our emotional turmoil and stress. It then took them two weeks to get these items to us, with poor communication, numerous times changing the delivery date which created a hardship around work schedules and time off to be here with the delivery, and more than once telling me they would call back with an update and then not doing so. We received cheaper quotes to do our move but felt much better with RT because of the person who quoted us and the reviews we had read. If I would have known the quality would have been what it was, I would have gone with a cheaper quote to begin with. Beyond that, a table leg on our couch was broken, an outdoor storage bin was cracked, and the cover for our grill was ripped and torn. As I have tried to get a partial refund for the very poor service and the emotional turmoil they put us through with irresponsibly forgetting/temporarily losing some of our belongings, they have been resistant, pointed me to a claims form (which says it only covers damaged items), and also even though their owners "About" page specifically says he will talk to unhappy customers, they refused to give me his email address and he's been on the phone the couple of times I've asked to speak with him. I wouldn't hire RT Relocation again for a move. read more

I hired RT movers to relocate our household belongs from CT to VT. RT movers did not use proper care to pack and load my valuable items properly and carefully. So pieces were delivered with obvious serious damage. I purchased damage insurance from RT in advance to cover my move fully. I promptly and properly filed a claim for damages caused by RT. I followed up with many calls and communications to Robert Anderson (owner of RT) over the many months subsequent to relocation. Nevertheless, RT Relocation refuses to honor the legitimate damage claim that I submitted. RT relocation will not provide any explanation for its failure to settle my rightful claim. Calls to Robert Anderson always go unanswered. Totally frustrating and in my opinion fraudulent. I strongly suggest you find alternative movers. read more

My move was in May 2021. I purchased 35,000 in full-replacement value insurance. I paid extra, separately, to move my Grandfather clock. I claimed 1535 for a lost box and damages. The company will not pay. I have not heard from them in over 3 months. Also, they left pieces of the clock on the floor on moving day, unable to reassemble it. When I called the day after the move, I was told, well of course one always has to hire a specialist to take care of a Grandfather clock after a move. Never having to move one before, I wouldn't really know. But, I was not told ahead of time, And, I wonder why I paid an extra, separate fee, if that was the case. read more

Seek professional moving services elsewhere!! This company uses subcontractors that don't speak English and are incapable of communicating with you during your move. I waited until the last day of my "moving window" to receive multiple pieces of furniture broken. I also had to throw out a bed frame because the movers refused to even try to get it up the stairs (that had more than ample room). They refused to come to my house to perform their inventory quote, which resulted in underquoting my weight by 2000 dollars. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't compensate me to remove the furniture that they broke or provide me a courtesy to cover the deductible for the furniture that they rendered useless. If I could give "0" stars, I would. Here is my note to the owner, Rob Anderson. Please read in full and DO NOT use this moving company. "RT Relocation did our move from CT to VA last July. Everything went smoothly then. I can't say the same for my latest move from Yorktown, VA to Ashburn, VA. I will spell out what a deplorable move this was, and how badly your company did: 1. Priceless antiques and valuables ARE MISSING - completely 2. Your crew unpacked crates upon crates of my belongings, and then repacked these into a dozen different boxes. I have no idea where any of my belongings, that were once organized, now are. It will take me weeks to unravel. 3. Expensive artwork that is custom framed and made with custom hanging hardware- I specifically told your crew to leave this artwork in the original boxes. They told me they would, and would wrap the custom boxes that the originals were packed in in blankets. They DID NOT. They took these apart, piece by piece! Now, I have loose pieces, glass, and artwork, without hardware, and cannot hang these. Also, by removing the pieces apart, there is no way to reassemble these pieces back together. I will have to contact the company that designed and frames them to have them redone or reorder them. Not sure if this will even be possible. 4. You charged me for weight, similar to my initial move from CT to VA, and the same price. THERE IS NO WAY the weight is the same, as this move is 20%+ less on items. Here are the belongings that were not moved from Yorktown to Ashburn: 2 qty- 1K lbs rolling tool cabinets, filled with tools an anvil that weighs over 500 lbs guest bedroom set and mattress (queen) 5 wardrobe boxes that belong to my husband and his personal belongings, 2 large sofas in my living room (donated to charity), 7 piece outdoor seating set with firepit (donated to charity) dresser - 2qty (donated to charity), 4 bar stools (left at house); 2 wingback chairs, living room (left at the house) large/oversized desk (left at house) 2 TVS - medium, left at house Other items left at home or donated I actually had less belongings because I had donated many of my clothes, etc, in advance of this move. The large furniture along, including the bedroom sets, my husband's personal effects, and large amounts of tools in his 2 large rolling tool drawers weigh several thousands of pounds alone. Last, you charged me $1K for an added truck. Your foreman showed me the receipt for this UHAUL - it was nowhere near the $1K. Also, I had to take an hour of my day to drive him from Yorktown to Williamsburg to pick up the truck. This is far from the seamless customer experience promised by your team, on such a stressful day as it was. Moreover, I have left 3 messages for you to call me, in the last 4 weeks. NO RESPONSE from you. I have asked your front office staff for weight records AND claim forms. No RESPONSE. IS THIS what you consider exceptional service?? I will be filing formal complaints with the BBB and the AG of CT against RT, for fraud. I will also be seeking counsel to recover lost costs, both from damaged and lost goods, as well as overcharging. Last, I will be making my experience known on every single media and social media platform about how you and your company have taken advantage of me. You and your team should be ashamed." read more

I called them to get a quote for moving . The mover guy called me back and was very rude and arrogant . He told me that he will charge me minimum 1200$ for 5 hours . when I said that can I do it less hours , then he told me to go with another company and not call them .
