I contracted with JMG to move from CT to NC. I also paid for moving insurance to cover any breakage or damage, and paid extra for zero deductible. Before the movers had left our new home, I pointed out a problem with a stainless steel cabinet. Pictures were taken and over the next 2 months multiple text messages were exchanged. This led to me being ignored and nothing being done to resolve the problem. I haven't heard back from JMG in 2 months and I'm beyond frustrated. I would never recommend using JMG based on my experience. read more

The pricing was great and much less than others we had gotten quotes from. Will be using them again when the need arises. In August moved from a 5000 sq ft home in Burlington, CT to a Condo in Avon, CT. Overall the move was excellent. However, during the move, a $200 TV was damaged. JMG promised to replace the TV but despite phone calls and emails, J&G has failed to replace the TV or to compensate me. read more

I booked moving a hot tub with them. The date and time was agreed upon nearly a month in advance. Despite this they had to reschedule twice before actually delivering the tub. After they unloaded the tub from the truck the owner told me it was more work than he expected and needed an additional $400 beyond the already agreed upon price. When i refused and offered $100 instead he took the $100 then threatened to load the tub back up and leave with it if i didnt pay more, even went as far as lowering the lift gate on his truck. At this point I had to threaten to call the police to get them to leave my property. Highly unprofessional. read more

I had hired JMG Movers this past December to move my elderly parents and have still been dealing with the owner for 8 months as he has taken months to get back to us regarding furniture that his movers broke. In my contract, the Owner Aaron, stated that damaged consumers' property that the mover would reimburse the customer for the reasonable cost of repairs of damaged household goods. On December 11th the Mover responded to my inquiry and stated "We are fully insured and our company is also accredited with the BBB" Therefore, we signed a contract to proceed with services. Four men showed up the days of 12/27 to move my parents to their new house. The full services came out to approximately $2300. I paid the invoice on the day of 12/27. A few days later my mother discovered items missing, and she also discovered significant damages to her bedposts which was a $6000 bed frame that is no longer made,broken glass for desktop, and also her printer was damaged. JMG was willing to work with my mom and me at first, however, it took them approx. 4-6 months to provide the money for the broken printer, and the replica of the glass. The major piece is the bed frames which Aaron Gist (owner of the company) agreed to fix. He even took one of the other bed posts so he can have the others made from it. It has been months, and in June my mom called him to get an update. Aaron yelled at her and said he would contact her back the following week. It has now been over a month and he is not returning our calls. He has some of her furniture and we want it back and we would like the broken bed posts to be paid for under the insurance that he claimed to have and yet has not been able to provide us a copy of the insurance. I had recently started an investigation with both the BBB and another federal agency for movers just so we can try to get the furniture he took to make copies back. My lawyers are currently in process of contacting him too. Save yourself a lot of time and money. Do NOT hire this mover. read more

Arrived late. Movers did not have the proper equipment to move appliances, straps, etc. As a result, they struggled and damaged our walls. They didn't know you could take the doors off the refrigerator, so my husband did that for them. They could not get the refrigerator up the stairs, so they put it on our back porch and left. They said we could afford to buy a smaller one because we were the landlords. Worst service ever. Do not hire these people. read more

Aaron was very good in setting up the move. Movers showed up on time however one mo we was very young. Come to find out it was Aaron and his son. I guess there was an emergency with the other mover so Aaron brought his son. If there was an issue like this I would have much rather changed the date/time as we were flexible. Due to the fact that Aaron's son wasn't really a mover he had a hard time lifting my furniture. One item was dropped on my newly finished hardwood floors, causing a dent. My husband had to help move in the couch which defeats the purpose of having movers. On a positive note I will say everyone was pleasant from this company and I saw they had good reviews which I'd why I booked. I did reach out to Aaron with my issues and he apologized and explained what happened. However, I felt I should be refunded something due to the issues. read more
