We had been "storing" stuff in our basement that was unneeded but a massive pain to get rid of by ourselves for several years, and it got to the point a while ago where we couldn't really use the basement for anything else (like woodworking or exercise space). My spouse put some effort into consolidating and sorting, to get the "get rid of" stuff all on one side of the space aside from a couple of big, difficult-to-move-across-the-room items, and then he found Rapid Removal and based on the good reviews scheduled a quote. They came out that week to take a look, not just at the stuff but also the logistics of getting it out and being mindful of the neighbor's driveway that's next to our basement door. The quote was equal or less than the price of renting a dumpster, so we said yes then and there, and they were able to come out a couple days later! Today, they arrived later than planned, but called well ahead to let us know about the delay and confirm it was still ok to come today. When they arrived, they got right to it and finished in about 2 hours! I spent more time than that just doing some extra shifting to clear the path to the door yesterday! I rated 5 stars because there aren't 10 stars. I bought some land and the guy who sold it apparently didn't learn from his mommy that you're not supposed to leave your garbage in someone else's yard, so I inherited a big rusty propane refrigerator. I live 3 hours away from the property so I was hoping to get someone who could just go there, give me a price, take the junk and bill me. The biggest challenge there is verifying that you can trust someone to not just take your money and go away, so I spent some time looking up their incorporation certificate, their business address, looking them up on google maps, and basically creeping on the poor folks. I did eventually convince myself that they would be a good risk, but it turned out my bank did not support their payment option (Zelle) so I ended up just meeting them in person. I think they are in the process of increasing their payment options, especially since I was very rude about telling them to do that. Don't worry, I was mostly very nice to them. I scheduled to meet them on saturday, 3/2/2024 at the property at noon. I also requested a blank invoice so I could forward it to my real estate lawyer so they could use it for the financial issues in the real estate transaction. The company was very accommodating (spelling?) and immediately sent me a blank invoice. On Saturday I got to the property at 11, let them know I was there, and waited. At about 11:30 they notified me that they would be late because they had another client to increased their requirements at the last minute and they were finishing up that job. I found that very impressive for a company in what I would call the "construction and demolition" industry, because I've worked with lots of those people and in general communication is not their strong point, to put it kindly. Rapid, on the other hand, was EXCELLENT at communicating, they were exactly accurate with the new time and very willing to reschedule if necessary. At the appointed time, Tyrese showed up with his partner Kyle with a big empty pickup truck ready to clean up my stuff. We discussed how he would get onto my property which doesn't have an official driveway, he figured out the best entry point, and he showed me how he could back his 4X4 up onto my property further than I thought in order to make the job easier and cheaper. He and Kyle checked out the situation, gave me a low price, we agreed and they got out some equipment and wrestled my fridge into the truck bed. The fridge was about 200 feet into the woods, they had to cross 2 small creeks and I was worried that would be a problem but Tyrese just went and grabbed it, no muss no fuss. When they were done, I paid in cash and Tyrese sent me the invoice via email and wrote me out a receipt for the cash, and then headed for the dump. I would recommend that someone hire Tyrese to manage your property as soon as possible, he is a rare guy in this world, a hard worker who gets the job done. If you don't have property to manage but you just have some junk to junk, Tyrese is your guy. read more
