A last minute move at the holidays, even requiring emergency rescheduling, and FinishLine Movers came through with flying colors. John originally took the details of my move, and since he's actually in retirement, his very capable daughter Melissa completed the details. i couldn't be more satisfied with all of the personal attention, and patience this family showed me during my move. 4 mirrors, 4 framed prints, fragile antique furniture, heavy items, all arriving intact and unbroken. The actual muscle of the move, a gentleman named Henry, has 30 years experience, with no sign of slowing down in his work. His assistant, Jose, was also a gentle giant, showing care and ability in maneuvering large, heavy items. Both were really friendly, working efficiently. Also, did i mention, 11 boxes of books, in addition to the furniture....so heavy... hard work done efficiently, and professionally. Henry and Jose showed up exactly on time. Melissa in the main office answered the phone cheerfully each and every time i called, (i'm a bit of a nervous nelly...I don't know how she put up with me..) and she absolutely understood every nuance of my concerns. The actual cost of this move came in almost exactly at the estimate. The time estimate was accurate within the hour, ditto the labor estimate. Clearly, these guys know what they are doing. I hired this company in late February, just before COVID lockdown. I was very happy with the job they did. They were extremely careful with all my furniture and belongings and treated them as if they were their own. Moving in hours were restricted in my building, but they made arrangements to insure everything was delivered safely. Justin even returned to repair an item that accidentally broke in transit. From start to finish, I was treated with utmost courtesy, consideration and honesty. They were in time, and did everything they said they would. These guys went above and beyond. I was moving a 1450 sq ft condo. The place was full as well as the garage. The items in the garage were to go to storage. The items inside were to go to my new address. John, the owner, was pleasant & personable on the phone. I told him that I had a lot of stuff and that it would probably take more than one day. He assured me that they've moved big homes & that this will only take 1 day. I told him again that I had a lot of stuff. As it was, it took them 2 days & then never showed up for the 3rd & final day. All day, I was told that they would be there, but they never showed & quit answering the phone. It caused me to pay a cleaning crew w/o them doing any work, and again, hiring them when I was finally moved out. I had to pay another weeks rent. There went the movers tip. I tip when the job is complete. They didn't get anything & they did work hard. I feel badly for the workers themselves. All moving money is gone. read more

This was the worst experience. I got scammed. Talking with John the owner he seemed like a great guy, a family guy running a family owned business. But it sadly I was scammed. I moved most of my belongings were moved prior to have them come. They showed up--not wearing anything that says Finish Line Movers- they took their sweet time moving my belongings. I'll post pictures of what they moved- it took 2 hours! I moved more in half the time. A 45 minute drive took over and hour and a half then when they got to where they were going they literally took items in 1 by 1. They brought in small boxes one by one, left belongings outside. I even explained prior to moving date that I would need masks to be worn as someone in my house was starting chemo---the day of I reminded the 2 movers when they got to the mext house masks needed to be worn because the person was on chemo meds, they didn't even show up with any masks. So unprofessional. At one point my couch cushions were being dragged om the ground, a box with incredible fragile items was destroyed. When contacting the owners I was giving excuses about them having to take down a TV and take apart a bed--first I provided the drill for them to take the TV down--and it took all of 10 minutes--- they were taking so long and made the person on chemo feel so uncomfortable that they didn't assemble the bed when getting to the next place. The said my couch took time---I had the couch taken apart already and ready to go-- they are claiming that filling up for gas took 1/4 of an an hour. And compensated my 104$. So be aware this company is a scam. They send unprofessional workers, that will take their sweet time to rack up hours. Worse moving experience of my 42 years. They didn't have the right equipment and very poor attitudes. So many things were broken or damaged including walls in both houses. I was also overcharged. The owner did give me a partial refund, but it did not cover the damages and broken items. read more

My total cost was more than twice of the initial estimate, and the job actually required three workers rather than the two I had. Overall, the men did a good job, but they had two separate truck breakdowns that added more than three hours to the job. ( I wasn't charged for that time.). PSA: DO NOT HIRE! We had the abolsute worst experience with this company. To start they told my husband they would be at our storage unit in 45 minutes and showed up over an hour and 45 minutes later. After collecting our stuff it took over 5 hours to drive what should take a little over-an hour. When they arrived they were overtly RUDE calling my father Pops and complaining about how heavy things were. They also argued with me about where things should go. This place is the absolute worst! These guys also told my husband one of our boxes was leaking but really they had left our stuff in the RAIN. All around unprofessional. Do not use! read more

Pros: Our belongings got from Point A to Point B, for the most part, in one piece. John was very easy to reach and responsive. Also adjusted our time frame when we needed to due to our closing. Guys were polite and worked a long day. Cons: A few things were broken in the move. The biggest & most glaring problem was the truck had a giant hole in the roof!!! Of course, the day we moved it rained and our queen size mattress was ruined, along with two single mattresses and a table. When we called we were offered $130 for the damages and were told we should have gotten more insurance and used mattress bags. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I typically do not write reviews but have to warn people to stay away!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I moved in 2020 at the beginning John seemed very nice, gave me an estimate and I trusted that estimate. He assured me someone from the family is always present to oversee and assist with any issues, that was not true. I had an all furniture move (no boxes) of an entire house. The night before Justin messaged that they had booked another move for the morning and would begin my move in the afternoon. I thought that was odd but trusted they knew what they were doing. When the guys arrived, they had no idea what they were walking into and were given no info. They only sent 2 guys but they needed 3 and had to send someone else out later in the evening to help. They ran out of supplies to properly wrap my furniture. The guys were so nice but by 3:30 in the morning they were exhausted and one of the guys physically could not work anymore and went to sit in the truck. I begged them to put my kids beds together before leaving so they could have somewhere to sleep. There was damage to the floors and walls in my new home, my furniture was damaged and some things broken including an antique dining room table. The guys left without putting everything in the correct rooms and without re-building all of the furniture. My kids and I were left sitting until 3:30 a.m. in the mess and then I had to pay other people to come and help move things and put things back together, I also had to replace several things as they were not able to be fixed. Justin emailed me the next day to "apologize" for the issues and collect the rest of the balance which was more then what I was originally even quoted and I had already paid more then half of what was quoted. 3 1/2 years later and they are now having a debt collector contact me and threaten to "pursue this vigorously" if I don't pay what they say I owe. I cannot believe they are still in business and will also be reporting them to the BBB. I have moved several times over the years and have never ever had such a terrible experience and have never had damage like this. STAY AWAY!!! read more

Our moving experience with Finishline Movers was not good. We were overcharged, they did not finish loading because they ran out of room, they did not work efficiently, and did not bring the correct equipment to get the job done. I contacted, Justin, the owner about these issues. He was apologetic and did fix SOME of the overcharge, but after our experience, this is not a company we would use again. According to the owner, our move was entered into his system at a price $50 higher per hour. As the move was happening, I was told they were adding an additional mover at no extra cost. After the fact, I was told that I would be paying the higher price for the time they added an extra mover. Also, the movers were not honest at all about their lunch/break times; this was also partially corrected by the owner when fixing the overcharge. Besides being overcharged, I was underwhelmed by the whole experience. They movers were not especially careful with our possessions and home. On both ends they scraped and chipped walls in many places. (At my old home had to hire a painter to do fixes for the people buying our house, which is cost me $450.) The movers showed up with just 1 dolly on the first day. Fortunately, I have 2 dollies I let them use or they might still be hand carrying every box to the trucks. To me, this lack of being prepared just cost me more money because they are not as efficient without the correct equipment. I was also pretty disappointed that they were not able to get everything into two 26-foot trucks. At the point they did not think thing would fit, it was too late for me to rent another truck, and they did not have any ideas to help. I ended up renting another truck early the next morning and loading it all myself. The attitudes, behavior and language of the movers was also not even close to professional. They spent considerable time complaining about all aspects of this job and their job. There were many times were I could not locate members of the moving crew and a coupe time spotted then sitting in the front of the moving truck or down the street smoking (which at least was better than when they were smoking in the back of the truck while loading). Many of our items now smell like smoke. I have 2 small daughters and the language used it their presence was not acceptable at all. What might be the worst thing that happened was at the end of the first day, one of your movers said to another, "We should just take off and sell all this stuff and we'll be set." It they did not have a truck full of my stuff, I would have fired them on the spot. Even if it was said in joking manner, after a long day of moving (that was not finished), there is no excuse for saying something like that. I found this company on Yelp and the good reviews were a lot of what made me pick Finishline Movers. Reading back over other reviews, it feels like the reviews were for a different company and for sure a different crew. After the move, the owner, Justin, told me that he was normally part of the moving crew and that his guys would not act like this with him around. Unfortunately for us, he had a family obligation that weekend and was not a part of the move at all. As someone that manages people, my expectation is exactly the same if I am present or if I am on vacation; my people know that and work the same if I am there or not. read more

I was excited thinking that I had less to do after doing so many moves myself with moving multiples times due to the Army. At first everything was great because communication was on point. Well that was until moving day came. I was given a time of 0930-1100 and I showed up to my storage at 0930 but the moves didn't get there until 1217. It took double the time to load my storage and I felt as if time was being taken slow to maximize how much I spent. It is a 15 min drive from my storage to my house and they took almost an hour. So no I will not be using this service again and I will be making sure that service members stay away as well because this was not a customer friendly move. It was more money making. Omg!!! These guys are very nice and get the job done I hired them to move down 4 flights of stairs and into a container to be drove to Alabama. They came on time and worked hard even after running into my maintenance guys who was rude!! They still got container packed and didn't even need second container; so money back from that container not being used!! Justin the owner is very nice and professional as is his staff!! john the owner is a complete scam artist. makes up a cheap estimate without even assessing what you have. i paid for 35 hours of labor with my move-which the majority of it was loading a truck, drivers driving 40 minutes unloading in a warehouse an then driving 40 minutes back to reload .. why on earth wouldnt you send the appropriate size truck!? and can u guess-he charges an hourly rate and does whatever he wants to charge making up nonesense. disgusted with this service. I reserved Finish Line Movers, which was smooth going til the day of the move. My reservation was scheduled for 8:30 am, got a text that they were running late from the move the night before and will be arriving at 12:30, which wasn't a big issue so I can wrap up a few things. They finally arrive at 4:30 and finish packing truck at 7:30 pm. I moved out of town only 1/2 an hour away...I ask if they're gonna follow and was told they'll meet me there. 9:30pm still no truck, I call the owner, no response. I proceed to call the dispatcher who is the owners son and I explain that this is ridiculous and it shouldn't take this long to bring me my belongings and if the truck is not here in half an hour I am calling the police. The truck finally arrives around 10:30 and after an hour I notice only the driver working and went outside and saw the other two sitting in the truck. I asked if they're taking a break? The one who I thought was in charge said oh we don't like to work for people with an attitude and we're gonna take the truck and the company will send replacement movers tomorrow. Not realizing the driver was still working, I stand in front of the this big moving truck and say you're not taking my property and proceed to call the police. As I'm waiting for the police the other two call for a ride and I over hear one say "I just got bonded out last night, I can't stay here!" The dispatcher calls me and says they will store my things on the truck and return tomorrow. And I reply, I didn't hire you to store my belongings, I hired you to move my belongings into my new home. He then agrees to leave the truck and keys with me and the driver was nice enough to help my son with the mattresses so we can at least sleep. In the morning the replacement movers arrive, they were so much nicer but I was over the experience and had them just unload the boxes in my garage. Discovered that my sons computer desk was broken in half, my marble end table, head board and foot board all chipped. My dressers scratched and one of my plant shelf's missing. I was told the owner was gonna call me and here it is 4 months later and haven't heard anything. The only thing I paid was the deposit for the reservation and this company would not get another penny from me. I've documented all the damages just in case they expect to get paid for the most horrible move I ever experienced. read more

We hired Finish Line Movers to move a 3 BR raised ranch into storage for 3 weeks, then back into a new house in a nearby town. The movers showed up a full four hours late for the first move and two for the second. During the first move the movers themselves did a pretty good job (although trash talking the owner so I wouldn't be mad at them for being late is a bad look), but the second time they clearly had another move afterwards and were rushed. They destroyed a table and a bookshelf, dropped a computer tower, and had several other near misses with dropping boxes. Several pieces of otherwise undamaged furniture were left scuffed. I've used movers many times over the years and I've never had so much damage done to my belongings. (All My Sons Moving dinged a table once and I've used them for 3 moves.) I haven't finished unpacking the dishes, but so far those are undamaged, for what it's worth. Update: One box of glasses was smashed. To top it all off, their billing is clear as mud. I was given an estimate for the whole process, clearly showing the move from house A to house B, as well as the storage cost, only to be told once all of our belongings were in the truck that actually that estimate is only for the first move and that I would be paying labor to load and unload their truck at the storage site. The labor was an hourly rate, and I have no way of verifying how long it took to load/unload at the storage site. Furthermore, the owner could not be reached to discuss the billing snafu, probably because it was 10 pm on a Sunday night after they were 4 hours late. So, I'm left with a bunch of scuffed furniture, the remnants of a table, the memory of a bookshelf, and 2x the bill which I've had to pay in various partial amounts four different times now due to incompetence on the part of the owner. I only needed a couple of guys to help with loading a small apartment into a pre-rented truck. I booked about a month in advance and tried to get the first appointment of the morning (8:30-9:00), because I had carpet cleaners coming at 12:00. All of my phone correspondence was with John. The morning of the move around 9:00 I called John to ask for an ETA and he told me that the guys were running late, and should be arriving by 9:30-9:45. Well 10:00 rolled around and still no one had showed up, and I was getting very anxious that the truck would not be loaded by noon. I called John multiple times to try to get an update and find out if I needed to make alternative plans for movers. He ignored my multiple calls. We spent the next half hour loading the truck ourselves, not knowing if or when the movers would arrive. Finally, at 10:35, two men (Pete and Anthony) arrived. They were perfectly pleasant and efficient, but offered no apology, explanation, or recognition of the fact that they were 1.5-2 hrs late. They got the truck loaded in 1.5 hours but we still had to pay for the full 3 hour minimum. John finally called me back a few days later to collect payment, but also offered no apology/explanation for the lateness. These guys seem like they do quality work, but if reliability and punctuality is important to you, look elsewhere. read more
