They didn't wrap ANY furniture with furniture pads I provided them. A metal shelf loaded onto a leather couch - thankfully only one hole. OY

RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN. AVOID THE NIGHTMARE I HAD AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE. I booked this crew through UHaul's Moving Help based off the reviews I read on Yelp. I'm so happy the folks below had a great experience because I had THE WORST MOVE OF MY LIFE. Never in a million years would I wish the experience I had with this company & their movers on anyone else. If I could give them zero stars, I would have. Where to begin ... I utilized this moving team on Thursday, July 30th to pack a UHaul & I am absolutely livid by the service I received. If you want to skip this novel, just take a look at the pictures of my furniture post-move to make your moving decision :) First, it took the 3-man moving crew FOUR HOURS to load my one bedroom apartment & they didn't even finish that!!!! I had everything organized, packed up, & ready to go so it could be quick for them. Second, the treatment of my furniture & belongings was horrendous. At the recommendation of Connecticut's Finest Movers, I added furniture blankets to my order. I had a total of 36. ZERO of these were used until I came down from my apartment to find my queen size head board being pushed into the UHaul - leaving scratches all the way down the side of it. Not to mention money down the drain for renting furniture blankets. How about the mattress bags I bought to encase my mattress & box spring? They were taken out of the packaging but I found them unused & laying in my bedroom floor. When I asked about this the crew leader said it's easier to put them on once the mattress is at the truck. When I see my head board loaded on to the truck, I find the mattress & box springs have been loaded onto the truck without the bags. There's more money down the drain & now the box spring & mattress have marks down the side. I spent well over $1500 on the bed frame, mattress, & box spring and now they are in awful shape thanks to CT's Finest Movers. These 3 items were delivered & set up by Macy's & this was their very first move. Completely ruined thanks to the moving team! This doesn't even scratch the surface (pardon the pun) of the moving team's behavior while on the clock ... - No masks were worn while working. We are in the midst of a world pandemic. Safety of the team & customer should be the company's #1 priority. - One of the movers spent more time on his phone than he actually did moving furniture or boxes. - The team broke my building's elevator & we lost 30 minutes while waiting for a repair man to come fix it. Instead of staging the boxes outside the elevator & then loading them onto it, they left a box in the pathway of the empty elevator door so it couldn't close all the way. They staged the boxes outside of the elevator & once it was time for them to load the boxes onto the elevator, they couldn't get the door open because it had timed out. Ultimate laziness. While the elevator was broken, instead of continuing to move things down the stairs, they stood outside chatting or spent time on their phones. - I rented a utility dolly & a furniture dolly for the team to use. Neither were used to help expedite the move. - I had plenty of movers wrap for my furniture to be wrapped & none of it was used to protect my belongings. The only things wrapped were items I had already wrapped prior to their arrival. - The time frame I was given to expect the team was between 1:30-3. The movers arrived at 3:50 pm. That should have been a red flag of their previous move. I did a lot of research to avoid nightmare movers & thought I was going with the best. I am so disappointed in the service I received from this company & the amount of money wasted with the company due to the service received & all the broken/damaged furniture due to the lack of care by your team. I reached out to the moving company via email on 8/3 but heard nothing back. I reached out to UHaul's Moving Help to have them file a complaint & I haven't heard anything back there either. The owner could clearly care less. He's just in it to send out poor moving crews & collect his money. I'll say it one more time if you're still considering hiring this company, RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN. AVOID THE NIGHTMARE I HAD AND GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

I must say my fiancé and I had the greatest experience. We got a call at 8:54 am with an eta for 10:10 a.m. They handled the piano with such care from the first location to the second. So very happy, wonderful experience and GREAT COMMUNICATION throughout the whole process.

This is an epically heavy piano and the guys took their time and kept it safe for me. Here it is safe and sound in my new place!

These guys did a great job moving all kinds of furniture and belongings for me. They were extremely flexible and really friendly. They were understanding that not everything was moving with me, which I know can be frustrating as a mover. They moved a really heavy piano, multiple furnishings, and endless boxes, all with smiles and laughs. What a great team. They were so good with my stuff that the little sticky notes I had put on my furniture was still on there when they put it in my new place. I'll definitely use them next time I move. HIGHLY recommend.

I highly recommend CT's Finest Movers! They recently moved some heavy furniture out from my home. They loaded and packed their truck very carefully using plenty of pads. They also unloaded my belongings from their truck and packed them very efficiently and safely into a storage facility compartment. The team of three men were professional, efficient, polite and respectful to me, as well as to each other. Peter told me what the cost would be prior to the move and that's exactly what I was charged after the work was done--very honest and good to do business with. I would definitely call them again should the need arise.

This was no an easy move--and they did it flawlessly

Moving day can be stressful and not having a well planned estimate will cause issues…read more We were quoted $1,300 - $1500 for two men and a half day. We were asked to send pictures of all our items so they can fine-tune the estimate and make sure they are properly prepared to meet the customers' needs. We followed their request and sent pictures of EVERY item to be moved. Subsequent to sending the pictures the estimator said that after reviewing the photos he would like to add an additional man and increase the time based on his review of the photos. Their proposal was increased slightly ($1,500 - $1,700) (we had no issues with the request), and we awaited their arrival on moving day. Moving day came the workers on the truck were very nice. However mid-way through moving things went south fast. The workers broke an expensive glass bar cart and called to inform their home office. The original estimator then called to say we had more stuff than anticipated and the truck was full. The stuff was exactly what was in the one dozen photos sent two weeks prior to the move. These photos contained all the furniture and all of boxes that we had packed for the move. He then proceeded to state that we "didn't inform them there were boxes to move" (a complete lie). We calmly said two of the pictures sent to you (which the workers on site actually had on their cell phones) have a stack of boxes in the family room and another from the garage. He said well, "people move their boxes themselves sometimes'". Our response was simply questioning why we would have sent the pictures, at their request, if we intended to move them on our own. After arriving at 11:05 and deciding they were done at 5:30 sharp, the movers left over 20% of the remaining contents. They said they needed to move what they have in the truck and "they would come back the next day", but we would be getting another quote for the remaining move. When I questioned the additional quote the gentleman from the home office then revised it talk track to say he would not be able to insure he could come back tomorrow (Saturday, knowing the house was being sold) and stated and he would do it in 3 days (past the date of the house being sold) but the quote had to be signed to get on a possible schedule. He carried on saying "couldn't disrupt his clients already on tomorrows schedule". I guess its OK to disrupt a client by leaving 20% of the job behind. His quote for completing the move arrived the next day and the move would now be almost double the original price! Needless to say we quickly found an honest and reputable company for less than 1/2 of the additional quote from Two Movers. Two days later they sent a final bill for $800.00 more than his revised estimate, bringing the total moving cost to more than twice their original estimated when added to the additional mover we had to hire. We informed them of their error in number of hours billed, and reminded them they didn't complete the job, and that they broke the bar cart. Their response was that the bar cart isn't covered as they were not specifically informed of it in the move list, but they would give me $50.00 for it even though it was included in the pictures we had sent which prompted them to increase the original estimate. They said any items not specifically "written" on the contact were not their liability! The reality is they received pictures of all the items being moved, they double checked those photos well enough to increase the estimate to include an additional man. While we hope for a fair resolution that accurately accounts for actual hours worked and the damage to the property they caused, we have so far not heard back from them revising their billing or received any apology for the distasteful experience Update : The owner called apologized for the stress and miscommunications and we settled on a fair amount for the work they did The owner was very nice and concerned about our experience and perception of his office staff because it's not what the majority of his customers experience according to him My advice ask a lot of questions and list as many of your bigger or more expensive/delicate items upfront so you can openly discuss how they will be handled. Ask about travel timing billing and supplemental insurance for your property

I called the day before we needed to move it, and got lucky that they had a cancelation and could squeeze us in with 1 days notice. The unit was heavy and awkward and had to go down some steep stairs into a basement. The movers handled the job professionally and got the machine into the basement with no damage to the machine, the house, or themselves. That was quite an accomplishment!!! If I had one concern about All My Sons it's their failure to clearly communicate pricing and liability limitations. I was told that their minimum charge is 2 hours. It's actually 2 hours plus travel time. And, I wasn't told that their liability limitation is 60 cents per pound. That would have come out to $240 for a $1500 appliance -- definitely not enough to replace the appliance if something had happened. I might not have hired All My Sons if I'd seen this. We got lucky.

Not sure if Kareem or the customer, but someone. It seemed to be an outlier. Surely with 4+ star rating means I'll get a decent experience. Kareem was my primary contact and who I arranged the move with. I sent videos ahead of time to show the job to be done. Kareem did not ask questions. I got a quote and decided to see what I can get done on my own with family to save money. Economy sucks, yadda, yadda. I came back and explained how we did some ourselves and there's less work to do now. I explained what was left. Kareem did not ask questions. I then asked for an hourly rate. I was given one, and we both agreed on the job. I paid the deposit. A few days later, the movers arrive (Kareem absent), and they were not informed at all of what the job was today. They also kept making comments about me being "on a budget" or something and being shocked when I explained the scope of the move. I felt Kareem fed them some nonsense instead of details about the actual job. The movers were fine, but their leader wasn't. 2 hours into the job, Kareem calls me and accuses me of trying to pull a fast one by going hourly (why offer hourly rates and accept hourly jobs if it's an issue?), misleading him about the job (how??), and saying men could walk off the job with my actions. What did I do? Was it that I sent videos and a description of the move? Was it that I agreed to the rate and crew he presented me? What could I have done worth men driving the crew to walk off the job? The entire call was very aggressive and backhanded. Absolutely asinine. Thankfully, Kareem didn't feed them enough nonsense for them to actually walk off, and so they completed the job... mostly. It was scaled back because Kareem apparently REALLY didn't want it all done. Maybe because he didn't send enough manpower despite knowing the job. At the end of the move, Kareem told the movers to collect payment. Now, this is completely reasonable. What's not reasonable is me not knowing the exact amount until minutes before yet being expected to have that money exactly on hand, and giving me an invoice from day 1 (updated at the end of move, via email) that has a due date in the future. I talk to Kareem again, and he says he needs payment immediately. Again, would be fair, if all signs didn't point elsewhere. I said the invoice gives a future date, and he blamed ME for it, saying I should have corrected him and he'd have fixed the invoice. I can't read his mind. I didn't know he made a mistake. I said I will pay, but I don't have the cash on me at this exact moment, and explain why as described above. He immediately gives me the shake down and jumps to aggression again, accusing me of playing games, etc... He skips actually trying to resolve the issue and instead threatens to call the cops. I offer to get the money from the bank immediately, but somehow he's still arguing with me about that. Apparently immediate payment isn't even good enough now. And he's going to have the movers follow me to the bank. What is this? Is knowing where I live not good enough that you need to aggressively "escort" me to the bank? Thankfully, The Spin Doctor backed off when he got his money. The crew themselves were mostly fine (if not a bit slow checking their phones at times--almost assuredly because of Kareem's failures in communication, or worse, Kareem harassing the crew?) and one item being damaged/broken. Again, avoid at all costs. I hope the men actually doing the work get a better gig because Kareem has no business managing workers or handling customers and his presence alone is good enough to write off the company. His communication skills are beyond abysmal and he went out of his way to insult me. It's a shame he's the owner. If my things weren't already on their truck by the time he called me the first time, I would've canceled and got someone else. Avoid yourself the frustration of dealing with The Spin Doctor and look elsewhere. ========== EDIT: Got a reply from Kareem. I can't address it all else I hit the character limit but here are the biggest parts: - Trying to save money is not a "red flag." - Kareem was shown the job ahead of time, and agreed to take it. - Yet his crew came unprepared and somehow it's my fault they were undermanned and had no gloves??? - I'm not obligated to tip or cater and I never agreed to (compensate your crew! I already paid!), but maybe I'd have tipped if Kareem didn't harass me, threaten to call the cops, change terms of payment, or the crew didn't break our things. Remember to listen the bad reviews. It's easy to leave a good review, but when you want to get it over with an forget about it, it's not tempting to take the time to explain your bad experience. If there's a few really bad reviews, chances are, there's a lot of bad experiences. ==========

However, I went with another company, that quoted me a flat hourly rate. I thought a 3-man move would be quick and efficient, at only $150/hour, guess-timating about $500. However, those movers were not, in fact, efficient (mainly due to back-office/poor dispatching issues, since it was the end of the day). With Collegian, I dialed the phone number and reached a person. I didn't get re-routed to a local office. I spoke with an actual, local employee. I told him about the size of the job and what items I needed to move. I requested an early move time, which they put in my request. I immediately received an email confirmation with a link to my account details on the website. A couple days before the move, they confirmed via email, acknowledging my morning move-in request would be granted. I was given an arrival window of 8-10:30 am. At 8:30 am, I received a call that the crew was on its way. They added another man (from a two to three-man crew), which increased the price an extra $25/hour. I figured that the move would have gotten completed faster. By 9:15, the crew arrived and got started. It wasn't a huge move, just furniture. It took an hour to get everything in the truck and wrapped up. Once they got to the new location, it only took an hour to unload the truck and move everything in. Nothing was damaged. The crew (led by Rick) was professional, respectful, and efficient with their time. By 11:45, we were completing the paperwork to close out the job. The only snag was the final tally of the job cost. I was quoted around $4-500, but was billed for $750. It seemed high, so I double checked it and called the office the following Monday. George acknowledged the error and agreed to get me in touch with the bookkeeper. Erin, the accountant, got back to me with an invoice stating the amount I overpaid and promised to send a check to reimburse me for the over payment. THIS is how you run a business and merit a 5-star review; meeting expectations and correcting discrepancies in a timely fashion. Thank you, Collegian. I will turn to you first the next time I have to move (hopefully not anytime soon). **I previously reviewed All My Sons for a 2016 move. Check that out for comparison.

Less than a week before my cross-country move, I switched to U-Pack (see my scathing review of PODS…read more- don't use them!). Ultimately our experience with U-Pack was ok, with some great features and others that were not as good. I ended up going with the set-up where you fill a portion of a storage trailer. (There were no cubes available by the time I called them.) When I first made the call, I received great customer service during this very stressful moment. Sure, they want my business, but the agent did a great job being thorough and addressing my concerns. Also, the automated texts throughout the experience were helpful. I appreciate the flexible pricing - based on the amount of trailer you fill - and they could deliver a full week earlier than PODs. Amazing! At the same time, other parts of the experience were not great: - I wish there had been information upfront about the size of locks that were needed to secure the door and the panel inside. I ended up having to buy 4 separate locks as I was attempting to get the size correct. - When we received our items on the CA side, two of our boxes had water damage. One box was so wet, that it was falling apart. The second box, which had less water damage, was an electrical device. Luckily, the electrical device was not damaged, and the seriously wet box only had exercise weights inside. The liquid smelled like water, so I wonder if it was something else that was loaded behind our stuff that made these pieces wet. It could have been a lot worse, but it was certainly upsetting. - The driver who ultimately took the trailer away after the trailer was empty damaged a tree. The city took care of removing the branch, but the incident should have been reported.
