Edit: I am updating my negative review in the positive direction…read more TLDR: I was happy with the owner and should I need moving help, would happily give Two Brothers a call. After seeing my review I received a call from the owner (Christoper) and we had a cordial conversation. He went over my concerns and addressed them to my satisfaction. I will go over each concern in order. The original review is further below. 1) Yelp apparently does not give businesses the opportunity to put anything on the page to properly set expectations. While the page on Yelp says users will get a quote based on the questions it asks, it apparently doesn't gather sufficient information to allow the movers to do so. Therefore the setting an incorrect expectation of getting a quote after supplying the requested info is a problem on the Yelp side and not something Two Brothers can impact in any way. 2) Apparently Yelp forwards the information entered to multiple parties to give them an opportunity to compete without informing users they are doing so. In my case, the anonymous text I received seems to be from a competitor rather than from Two Brothers. 3) The part of not giving me a call back in an hour (called the next day instead) as promised was an error on their part and Christopher took responsibility for it. He said there was no way to know if they will be free in that amount of time because they won't hang up on someone or otherwise interrupt assisting another client to give someone a call back. The employee should have said he would attempt to call back in an hour but would call back no later than next day. In short, I found Christopher responsive, professional, quite cordial, and pleasant to speak with. As stated above, I would happily give them a call should I need moving services again in CT. ------------------------------------- Initial review follows: ------------------------------------- Based on my experience attempting to get a quote, I don't think I will be using this company. I filled out the Yelp form to get a quote. Instead of a quote, I received a text back about 10 minutes later from a person who didn't identify themselves or their company. It said to expect a call tomorrow to go over how they can help me. The unidentified person said I should contact them if I didn't hear back. The next morning I did get a call but it was at a time when I had a prior appointment and couldn't talk. I asked if they could call back a little later and the person agreed to call me back in an hour. I never received the call back. Essentially they fell short multiple times in setting expectations and keeping commitments (yelp quote not provided when the info was provided on their form, not identifying themselves when contacting me, not verifying a convenient time to call, not giving the promised call back. All of this may be considered minor but it is a pattern. I can only imagine what I would have to go through if a major problem came up and I had a similar experience in trying to get assistance. I'll be exploring other options to see if anyone else can display a higher level of reliability and professionalism on the first contact.

We hired 2 Bros to load a storage trailer getting hauled to California…read more The good: - easy to communicate with over Yelp - brought straps (that we could buy off them) to secure the contents in the trailer - saved us $$ by packing the trailer tightly (2 feet less space than expected) The not great: - they wrapped only one piece of our couch in saran wrap, which protected the piece, but our other couch sections and bed were dirty from the inside of the trailer - CA side, many of our boxes marked as "fragile" were slightly caved in because there were many levels of boxes loaded on top of them. I'm thankful that nothing is broken, but it was tense seeing so many boxes with bent sides on the other end of the move

Much to our delight they sent a guy out to the house BEFORE we moved so we could get an accurate quote. He was very professional and courteous and gave us a respectable qoute. So moving day come and the company tells us the movers will be there between 8-8:30am so I would expect to realistically see the movers at 9-10am lol. Didn't happen - they showed up at exactly 8am with 5 guys and 2 trucks. They worked their butts off and was so respectful of our belongings. They were polite and strong and had great senses of humor. They packed and wrapped our stuff as if it were their own. They did the move in a timely matter and charged me wayyy under the quote. Use these guys and with a little luck you'll get the crew I had. Ray...the guy is unbelievable and does Tetris with packing a truck. Then there's Chris who is a GREAT guy who is not afraid to work and also took all my Dad jokes with a smile. Eric is a hard working guy with a constant smile and a kind heart. Dale was a packing pro and a hard worker. Can't forget Jordan who was a superstar running up and down the stairs with a few hundred pounds in his hands and an incredible personality. Donell (probably butchering the spelling of his name) a hard worker and quiet guy but not as quiet as Mike who worked and worked and got the job done. I can't recommend this moving company enough.

He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Three points here: 1-When receiving messages, confirm you know who the message is coming from - a customer or a employee. 2-Revise your reservation confirmation system. When I called, I was told "it's all set," but there were no additional details provided. On moving day, both workers arrived on time and were polite and professional. However, they did not have the equipment typically needed for moving a piano, such as a ramp or specialized moving tools. As a result, I had to assist with lifting the piano alongside my spouse. While I appreciate that the workers who arrived were courteous and did their best with what they had, the preparation and coordination for the job did not meet my expectations for a piano and heavy item move. I tipped the workers for their effort, but based on my experience, I would not use this company again.

I made it clear that I had a lot of large, heavy furniture and I also told them the sizes of the two storage units that I wanted emptied and brought to my new house. I specifically asked if it would all fit and if they would make multiple trips. I was quoted a price for six hours including tax. They did bring most of the large, heavy stuff but took NONE of the boxes. Now I am left to empty half of a 10x25 unit in MANY trips in my car.
