From the beginning, they promised professional, careful service -- but what we got was the complete opposite. * They did not estimate the amount of truck space correctly, which caused major delays and unnecessary stress on moving day. * They failed to bring moving blankets as promised, leaving our furniture and belongings unprotected. * Several items were badly damaged, including our master bedroom furniture, lawn furniture, and workout equipment. * When we asked for proof of insurance, they couldn't provide it -- and they refused to take responsibility for the damages. * Their handling of our belongings was careless and unprofessional, and communication throughout the process was poor. This company clearly lacks proper planning, preparation, and accountability. What should have been a smooth, organized move turned into a nightmare that cost us time, money, and damaged property. If you value your furniture, your home, and your peace of mind, do not hire M.A.P. Movers. There are many reputable moving companies on Long Island -- this is not one of them.

I had a tight deadline, as the warehouse holding my goods was about to close. I had already asked for estimates from two nearby storage companies, only to find either negative or mixed reviews for them on Yelp and elsewhere on the web, so I was concerned about finding a reputable company. Kecia responded to me via Yelp immediately, and when she realized I was located overseas, she called me on WhatsApp to inquire about my move. She reached out to the warehouse right away and arranged a visit with them the following day. She then scheduled the pickup for later that week, well within the deadline, having already sent me the contract and given me a quote, etc. Because I could not be present for the move, Kecia sent photos of my goods once they reached the unit at Jonathan Alexander. The inventory provided was very clear and easy to read (which is never a guarantee) ... and because of that, as well as the photos, I quickly realized that my biggest and most expensive item had not been accounted for. Luckily, she had even thought to photograph and send the original inventory from the old warehouse. It turned out that the old company had been storing the large item separately from my other stuff, and had forgotten about it! Pretty stressful, but Kecia worked with them on it and made sure to get it picked up, still within the deadline. Throughout the entire process, including the curveball at the end, she kept me updated via WhatsApp, email and phone, so I never had to worry -- I knew the company was on top of everything and working quickly.

The total cost was reasonable related to the services provided (remember...we're talking Lower Fairfield County here...) and quality of the service was truly excellent. The following phrases come to mind: "highly professional", "punctual", "responsive", "hard working" and "customer focused". These terms apply to everyone at Kaster from Kevin Kaster, the CEO, to our primary contact, Jamie Swanson, to the actual movers, who were a pleasure to work with and really put in 110% effort. Yes, there were issues that came up along the way...as there always will be during an 18 month-long move of this scope. But when problems arose, Kevin Kaster stepped-in and personally resolved them to our complete satisfaction. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

On 11/24 I inquired and paid for delivery service from Crate and Barrel outlet…read more Was told my item would be picked up on 11/26 because C&B's policy requires pickup within 2 days, otherwise there would be a 20% penalty assessed On 11/26, I texted asking for confirmation my item was picked up. They confirmed. On 11/30, they said they would deliver my item on the next day, 12/1. ***Later on 11/30, I received a call from C&B with photo proof that my item had NOT been picked up, despite me asking and receiving confirmation on 11/26 (???)*** I then received an apology (no token reimbursement for the inconvenience) and promise that it would be picked up and delivered 12/3 or 12/4. This is in contrast with their policy that if *you* have to reschedule the delivery, you'd be charged a fee. 12/5, one day after the promised date, it was finally delivered (30 minutes before the agreed time window, when I was on a work call). There was, however, an imperfection I did not notice in my initial photos I took of the item at the store. (I completely understand I'm buying from an outlet, so I took my own photos of the condition before leaving the store). Mike insisted that the imperfection was there when they picked it up and that they took photos as proof. However, when I asked him to send over the proof, he refused citing "policy" and said he would share those photo proofs ONLY to C&B. Then I'd have to take it up with C&B. What is the logic behind this policy? ***If you're so eager to prove the damage wasn't caused by your crew, wouldn't you be rushing to send me those photo proofs?*** In fact, when I used other moving companies (Piece of Cake for example), they were so eager to point out right away scratches already on our furniture before moving them, to cover themselves. Of course in those situations we understood and appreciated them pointing this out. Regardless, I called C&B and even they said Gorilla's policy sounds absurd. And that Gorilla didn't reach out to them to share any photo proofs to then share with me. I texted Gorilla and have been ignored for a week. If you use them, pay with credit card to ensure you get proper buyer protection!

I finally told them they needed to move things along faster as they originally said the entire job would take 2 hours. they spent more time hanging out in the truck and kidding around than working. The big guy got in my face and said I should help them out if I wanted it done faster. I told him not to speak to me that way and just do his job. He responded that I had an attitude and I was lucky he laid down blankets on my wooden floors and if he slipped and fell, he'd sue me. Then he started speaking in Spanish, which I understood every word, and next thing his whole crew is dropping furniture, making a mess and dragging their feet even longer. Bunch of complete degenerates and I highly recommend no one ever uses them.
