I hired this company to move a grandfather clock and an upright piano from a neighbor's home to mine. When I first contacted Chris, he requested full payment via Venmo/Zelle, which I completed. The day before the move, I reached out to confirm details and did not receive a response. When I called, I was told "it's all set," but there were no additional details provided. On moving day, both workers arrived on time and were polite and professional. However, they did not have the equipment typically needed for moving a piano, such as a ramp or specialized moving tools. As a result, I had to assist with lifting the piano alongside my spouse. While I appreciate that the workers who arrived were courteous and did their best with what they had, the preparation and coordination for the job did not meet my expectations for a piano and heavy item move. I tipped the workers for their effort, but based on my experience, I would not use this company again. read more

It's unfortunate. I used these guys when I moved years ago, and it went swimmingly and smooth. This time I needed their help for an urgent move and though they accepted the job, they canceled it when they showed up because the tenant wasn't ready (or dressed to their tastes, oddly enough). Which is fine, cancelling because the site wasn't ready is a fine reason. What wasn't fine was the extremely unprofessional way the owner Chris M. spoke to me when pursuing a refund. Leveling ad hominem attacks, cursing at me, threatening me, refusing to refund my deposit after offering one, and then cutting off contact are too serious of issues to not put in a review. I would not use this company again, even though I really was looking forward to it. read more

The most upsetting part of this entire experience was not even the delay itself--it was the way I was treated when I tried to address the situation. After learning that the movers would be several hours late and that my scheduled noon appointment would not be honored, I contacted Chris to discuss the issue and request a refund of the $440 I had paid in advance. Rather than showing any understanding for the inconvenience, the conversation quickly became confrontational. I felt dismissed, talked down to, and treated as though my time and concerns were completely irrelevant. At one point, I handed the phone to my fiancé, who had a much calmer approach and was attempting to have a reasonable conversation about the situation. Even then, the discussion did not become productive. The response remained hostile, and I felt intimidated rather than heard. No effort was made to offer an alternative solution, compromise, or accommodation. The message was essentially that I could either continue waiting for an unknown amount of time or lose the money I had already paid. What should have been a customer service conversation left me feeling bullied, disrespected, and completely disregarded. As a paying customer who had scheduled and prepaid for a service more than a week in advance, I expected professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy. Instead, I was met with excuses, indifference, and a complete unwillingness to take responsibility for the significant delay. The fact that no one contacted me before my scheduled appointment to advise me of the delay, combined with the refusal to refund my payment after the service was not provided as promised, was frustrating enough. The way I was spoken to during the process made the experience far worse. By the end of the conversation, Chris refused to refund my payment and ultimately hung up on us. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and unprofessional that I feel obligated to share it. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking reliable service, clear communication, or respectful treatment of its customers. Chris was a bully at the end of the day and he simply hung up on me and said I will never get a refund. This type of business practice is unacceptable. Chris said my guys are not showing up but later sent text messages asking if we still needed them. I was frustrated with his business tactics that are very unprofessional. Please beware of 2 Young Studs Moving Company. I would not recommend them to anyone needing a reliable business. read more

my name is Malachi Campbell Chris showed a serious lack of professionalism and respect. I worked my full hours and was not paid for all of them, despite being told multiple times that payment was coming. I had to repeatedly chase my own wages, and even then, I was still shorted. What made this situation worse is that I was asked for my Social Security number and told that it was the only way I could get paid. I was not given a W-2 or W-4, and to my knowledge, no other workers were asked for their Social Security number. This raised serious concerns for me, especially since proper payroll procedures were never explained or followed. Because of the unpaid wages and the way this was handled, I am now filing a formal wage claim with the Connecticut Department of Labor. No worker should have to beg for money they already earned or feel pressured to give sensitive personal information just to get paid. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before working for or hiring this company. read more

The owner Chris is psychotic is every sense. he threatened me, wouldn't stop calling and texting me even after payment. According to the 2 movers who were only paid by Chris for $20/hr, everyone who worked for him hated him and he's outright a horrible boss. While I had so much sympathy for the movers, they came with zero equipment and took twice as long to move my 1-bedroom. Its worse than zero star, stay away. read more

Oh boy. Where to start? Scheduled to arrive at 7:30am. Was told two members of his crew never showed up that morning. I was patient, called him back after waiting a few hours. Let him know that I had spent my day so far (five hours in) waiting. Chris yelled at me over the phone that I was guilt tripping him and then told me it was basically my fault for scheduling a move on father's day. What, like it's somehow my responsibility to ensure his workers show up? Guy acted like fulfilling his agreement was some kind of irritating inconvenience. Anyway, I thought about how he spoke to me and finally called him back (after 3:30, when his men hadn't yet arrived) to let him know his services were no longer desired. Hired a new company to arrive the next day. Would never give someone who treats customers this way my business. Folks, insist on courtesy and respect! You typically assume that when you hire a company for service, they will meet a minimum rationality bar. Not the case here. Completely unprofessional and shady. After a 2 bedroom move, I would never use this company again. Owner promised 2 trucks, but only came with one. The single truck broke down after being fully loaded. Went back to the house after movers left and saw they forgot a ton of large items on their second trip. Called the owner, asked if he could send another truck the next day, and he said I should get another company to finish the move because he "didn't like my tone". I disputed the credit card charge because the move wasn't complete, and owner threatened me by saying he lived in the same town. The mover guys were great, but the owner was horrendous. Moving is stressful enough. And there are plenty of other moving companies out there. After our experience, don't take a chance, just go with someone else. read more

2 Young Studs Moving - Movers Near Me

We hired 2 Young Studs to help us move and pack our belongings into a POD for a cross-country move. Despite a smooth scheduling process, the actual moving process was a nightmare. Our situation resulted in damaged walls, careless handling, and insufficient packing. We would've been better off moving everything ourselves and saving the money. Before the guys left, they tried to get us to hire them through their side hustle for the rest of our stuff. It then made sense why they left so much of our stuff unloaded to try and make a second sale. We ended up hiring additional movers from a different company to completely unload and reload our POD. Turns out, it was possible to fit everything and in a much more secure fashion. It's extremely disappointing when a "high rated" service falls short of expectations, and there is a clear lack of thoroughness and professionalism within the company. (The picture below is how they originally "fit" half our stuff in the POD. You can see nothing is actually secure and boxes have been thrown all over the place.) read more

I saw some poor reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt. They made me pay in full, up front even though I was not sure which date I needed the couch moved. After realizing that the couch was no longer needing to be moved he kept $70 of the full payment and hung up on me. I didn't even have a reservation that kept him from doing other work: It has been the worst experience with a company I've had in a long time. I will not use them in the future and discourage doing business with them. read more

I commend the men that work for this company despite the conditions. When I called, I got a quick response and quote for my moving situation, and left a deposit. I seen many reviews about unprofessional attitudes, and I didn't experience this. Day of, movers show up extremely late due to an injury of a coworker. I can understand this. The crew I got (2 men, and a rather small moving truck, with no other equipment) show up. They are not prepared or equipped for this job. It took them up until almost 9 PM (with me and my fiancés help because they kept stopping and disappearing to talk on the phone) to move two bedrooms worth of things to another apartment a block away. They damaged every furniture item I had, and I never received a follow up about this, and this was months ago. It's water under the bridge at this point. I can't say I'd recommend these guys, as there was plenty that could've gone better but I'm not sure it's 100% their fault. The two stars are solely for the men that moved my things, because their job is not easy, and they were nice through the process. read more

The workers showed up 11/2 hours late and told me it was an emergency situation. they showed up in a rental U-Haul with no moving equipment. thank god my storage unit had some . I worked with the employees loading and unloading. They dumped all my clothes in the floor which destroyed a few articles of clothing and sooo many clothes hangers!! Four friends and myself all worked for Chris and two young studs for two weeks. He hires inexperienced workers with no background check or experience or any type of training. He does this purposely and only sends two inexperienced workers so the job takes longer putting more money in his pocket. He purposely misquotes what the jobs will cost just to get your money. He purposely fires his workers every week or two and doesn't pay them. Me and my friends are still trying to collect payment for our work done. He says nothing is under the table and everything is legit but he makes sure everything is done through Venmo and just keeps saying next week anytime we would try and secure a paystub for the one time we were paid. Chris is a professional scam artist and has been scamming customers and workers alike for 10+ years now. Yousseff and Isaiah were the most courteous and polite movers I've ever dealt with. Not only were they courteous and polite they were efficient. The moving experience with two studs was mostly positive because of the movers that showed up the day of our move. These two gentlemen make two studs moving look really, really good! Our moving made up for the subpar scheduling experience: The only complaint I have is regarding scheduling and confirmation. When we called to confirm the move for the next day. Chris the owner, mistakenly thought that my girlfriend calling and texting for an appointment confirmation was one of his workers. (At least he addressed her in a way that was unacceptable) He was rude, abrupt, and crude. He asked "why we were texting at 8 PM". Three points here: 1-When receiving messages, confirm you know who the message is coming from - a customer or a employee. 2-Revise your reservation confirmation system. There was a lack of clarity in terms of knowing whether we had a confirmed appointment or not. 3-Speak to customers with respect! read more

I typically don't leave reviews but there have been so many mixed reviews on Google and Yelp about this moving company which made me feel inclined to leave a review. Moving is very stressful but I have to say that I don't think we could have done in without 2 Young Studs Moving! We moved from a 2nd floor 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 floor townhouse. They kept us updated on their arrival time and got right to work when they arrived. They were very careful with our furniture and communicated with us so that things were done the way we wanted it. I would definitely use their services again in the future (hopefully not too soon because I hate moving), but they made the entire process seamless and stress free! read more

What was supposed to be such a joyous moment of moving into my home turned into a nightmare. I was very excited to support a small business but unfortunately the service was not reciprocated. This is my first ever Yelp review. That in it self says a lot about my moving experience with 2 Young Studs Moving llc. I fully understand that no company or person is perfect, however I had such a poor overall experience with my recent move, I felt inclined to share this to hopefully prevent what happened to me from happening to someone else. To start things off, it is almost impossible to get in touch with Chris, you'll have to call 3-4 times to hear anything back. Then once booked, I wanted to confirm my appointment on their website calendar (as instructed) and it was not present, but I digress. The movers showed up on time and were friendly so that was really great. We started at 7am and around 9am we were nearing the end of packing the truck. Then we got to the final item...my bed frame. The movers attempted to get it out of the building through each staircase but to no avail. It was eventually decided that the bed frame needed to be dissembled in order to get it out. There was one issue though: the two movers were un-equipped to dissemble the bed frame so that it could be moved. Unfortunately, they didn't have any tools with them....not even one. Because the movers did not have the proper tools, my mom had to run to the store to purchase tools that they suggested us to get, so that we can successfully take the bed frame apart. Needless to say, the tools they suggested did not work and were completely the wrong tools to get. Waste of money and time. As you can imagine, several hours went by where the team attempted to move the bed frame and take apart the bed. We ended up having to leave the bed frame all together for the time being, otherwise there's no telling how long this move could have taken in totality. 6 hours later the move was completed (excluding the bed frame)... but that's when another issue surfaced -- several pieces of my furniture had been scratched by the movers. The bed frame...........the dresser, desk and more. I called Chris at the end of the move to discuss my experience, and he was very unapologetic and frankly rude about the entire situation. It was distasteful to say the least, and I was taken aback by the lack of empathy in his tone. Before I could even send Chris all of the images of the damaged furniture, he called me and granted a minimal refund which does not come anywhere near the cost of the poor moving experience or the furniture that was destroyed. Moreover, it would have been ideal if Chris was more considerate, empathetic, and understanding during our conversation. I'm huge on professionalism, courtesy, responsiveness, preparation, and these are all elements that my moving experience severely lacked. I say all of this to say that I don't solely blame the two movers as they were clearly ill-prepared to do their job. They should have tools...always and they should also scope out the location prior to beginning the move, and the owner of the company should be more considerate when dealing with customers, especially as we navigate through the difficult and trying times that we're in. I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere if you have valuable furniture and items you need moved. You'll want to find a company that handles your property with care, and handles business with integrity. read more

This was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had with a moving company! The agreed upon time, 12pm noon, was changed with no prior notification to 2pm and the 2 movers STILL did NOT arrive until 5:48pm. There was NO communication about this significant delay in arrival time either, I was simply left hanging the entire wait time. This caused major delays with other aspects of my move! Also, the movers did NOT arrive with any of the tools necessary to complete the job (e.g., door stoppers, moving blankets, ramps, Dolly's, etc.). The 2 very young movers looked completely exhausted, often took several breaks, and complained about how overworked they were working for this mismanaged company! In fact, I literally moved 1/3 of the items myself just to assist and speed up the process. Despite all of this, I still tipped them generously and even gave them some of my used items that I no longer wanted. To simply move only 1 bedroom worth of items (significantly less than a studio apartment), I was charged $800. The owner Chris WILL charge your credit card AGAIN (additional $360), even after the agreed upon amount is already paid (initial $440)! I was forced to report unauthorized additional charges to my bank. Also, this company will NOT waive the flat $40 fuel/travel fee for jobs more than 3 hours, despite the fact that they advertise as such directly on their website. Please avoid any future regrets and look elsewhere for moving services! read more

Trust me go elsewhere. We paid $1350 for a 2 bedroom apartment going only 3 miles across town. Not only did they break our stuff but their "insurance" only covers $0.60 per pound. It doesn't matter what it cost you. If It weighs 10lbs you only get $6 no matter the cost. (See their policy attaches as a photo). Also they charge per hour and once they have it in the truck they have no incentive to work quickly. Hence why we paid so much. Most importantly, they refuse to take liability for damages their truck causes to property. We are paying close to $4k because of young stud damage to our apartment complex from the move and now the HOA is upset at us before moving in. Called The owner Chris who said "no video proof, no payment" and hung up the phone. Seriously, Go with professionals, or just hire some day laborers outside of Home Depot/U-Haul store to move the heavy stuff and drive the truck yourself. Going with middle ground (price and quality)you get the worst of both worlds, you pay a lot and you don't get any protection. 2 young studs is biggest mistake I've made in awhile. please go elsewhere and don't make the mistake I made. It was so hot and humid~ not fun to be moving in at al!! They never stopped, complained or spent time on their phones. I had a case of water for them and when offered breakfast, they were both so gracious and polite. I want to also mention I moved from a second floor ( they could at least back the truck to the the porch here) to another second floor ( had to park on the street and go up the stairs..ughh) Nothing broken and they were kind enough to put my bureau together for me Again, they didn't stop. I wouldn't recommend this company. The move took almost double the time we were quoted and the movers broke a few of our things and didn't let us know. I was disappointed to see them on their phones a few times and overall felt like the effort was lackluster. Two years late and i feel i need to share my story on here... no one ever use this company... Never use this moving company. I had so many problems with them, I understand things happen that are out of the companies control and I was very flexible with them. When I called to express my concerns, the owner was very rude and not professional. He interrupted me and said "can you get to the point" in a very stern nasty voice. If you try to express any concern, he will cancel the job on you. Chris, the owner, was so disrespectful to me on the phone. Ive never been spoken to like that by an owner. It was very unprofessional. I felt so bad for the workers, they did a great job! Again, do not use this moving service. The owner is nasty and has no customer service. No customer should ever be screamed at for expressing concerns. When you pay for a job, you should be able to have an input. I am never one to complain about a company, but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. Chris is not a nice man and you will most likely get screwed over by him. This guy said he ran my card and it was declined. This was AFTER he stated he was NOT going to return my items, that he was going to charge me storage, and I had to find another company to move me all because I said "that's what reviews are for" when he told me next time find another f***ing company if I did not like his services. He hung up and then tried to run my card for $1010 WITHOUT informing me he was doing so. He angrily called back and I asked why was he charging me for an unfinished job? He said that's what I owed for THAT day. I always transfer my money once you tell me the price, one does not just help themselves, ESPECIALLY after telling me he was NOT bringing back my stuff. Once I mentioned "lawyer" the next day, suddenly this was a HUGE mistake, he would bring my stuff back that day and I could have a 20% "discount". I had already been warned by his workers Chris does this kind of stuff, sending untrained movers, too small trucks and does not take responsibility for ANYTHING. The 1st set of movers even suggested I get a U-Haul and move the second load myself and asked my cousins husband if he had a jeep or something so we could finish the move ourselves saying we would save money, which defeats the purpose of hiring a moving company. Chris is arrogant, rude and has entitlement and anger issues. I have posted his rude responses and screenshots showing he was paid and that he is a liar. Please see screenshots of his threats and proof he was paid. 2 days, 2 crews, almost 12 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment to storage. Approx $1200. SCAM even according to his movers. And the guys did not work through the night. They showed up an hour and a half late outside of the two hour window, which was between 12:00 and 2 and they showed up at 3:30. I call Chris right after I had rented a 10x17 storage space and ask for a three-man crew and he said they only used two men crew for a two-bedroom apartment. My storage unit was closed by the 2nd trip since the first crew couldn't fit everything on the truck and told me I would need another storage space since everything wouldn't fit into the storage space. Chris eventually sent a second crew the NEXT DAY, who not only unloaded everything left in the truck, but also took out EVERYTHING and rearranged it in storage so EVERYTHING fit and I did NOT need a second storage space AND THEY DID IT UNDER 2 HOURS. Maybe if he sent that crew the day before, I wouldn't have had to deal with two hard-working, yet woefully untrained movers who got there late and didn't know how to load a truck efficiently. The crew that came in the next day gave me the lowdown explaining this is what Chris does. I'm not the first person this has happened to and if you look at the texts that he sent me, you can see how arrogant and rude he is. How do you run somebody's card without telling them how much you're running it for when the job's not even done after threatening you're not returning the person's property the first place?. It is my belief that Chris planned on charging me $1,010 for a job not even done and then would have held my property hostage until I paid him another large amount of money to return it. Something his employees claim he does often as well. If you read other reviews, you can see that other people have had problems with Chris. We all can't be lying. Appears this is an ongoing issue and Chris actually needs some anger management and some charm School classes. I've never dealt a bigger jerk in my life. He then tried to write off the whole thing as a huge mistake but not until I threatened him with a lawyer given my landlord is a consumer advocate attorney and had advised me on what I needed to do as I was well within my rights. I also posted screenshots of payments to him which he got once he informed me how much I owed and I THEN transferred the money into the account so he could run the card. Such NERVE to think you can just run a card WITHOUT informing a person and then getting pissed off because the money you're trying to take WITHOUT permission isn't there and it screws up your scam of holding the person's property hostage for more money. read more

2 Young studs helped us move about a month ago and we're very professional and didn't have any issues. We used them for moving out of a 3 bedroom (we did the packing). The team of three we had worked diligently and carefully throughout the entire process and were pleasant and communicative the entire time. Only minor hiccup was having more stuff than their two trucks could accommodate on one run, but I attribute that to me not communicating properly up front on the amount of crap we have. We had an uneventful and 'pleasant move'. ( You notice the drudgery of your move when things start to go wrong. ) Getting a quote was easy and I didn't have to spend a lot of time on the phone ironing out the details. There are no hidden fees and layered pricing structures. On the moving day, they gave us a call before they started to give us an update, arrived on time and got started. Our 2 bed apartment's move took about 7 hours. ( 3rd floor with no elevator at the source and a very finicky elevator at the destination.) What could have been much more frustrating went smoothly because everyone kept their cool and went on working. Thank you ! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am a nurse a work crazy hours, my move was scheduled a month in advance. The morning of, after the movers were an hour late, I called chris and left 3 voicemails, unanswered. Finally I called pretending like I was scheduling a new move and magically my call was answered. Chris was unbelievably rude and disrespectful, he actually yelled at me when I asked if my move was still on. I don't know any profession where you can just not show up to work when you are scheduled and then scream at the customer. Needless to say, his team never came. This company was a nightmare. Particularly the egotistical, explosive manager Chris. The move was scheduled at 1. I had to call them at 4 to ask if they were still coming. They didn't show up until 7pm. Then they said they were making a stop on the way to my apartment to do a labor job and took my stuff to someone else's house. They called me at 10pm confused about where they were going and said they'd be another hour. Then I called Chris to find out what was going on and he hung up on me twice after he knew I was upset. Then he swore at me and threatened to direct his movers to take my items to CT where I would have to pay to get them moved out of storage because "I made him mad" for complaining. The movers texted me saying that they were turning around and bringing my things to CT per the instructions from their boss so I had to call Chris back and play nice and feed into his ego so that he would release my belongings to me. They finished the job at 11:30PM. Chris is an unprofessional hot head to put it lightly. And blamed me for moving on the "busiest week of the year." Though from the look of these reviews, that seems to be his famous line. They also damaged my dresser leaving scratches and gouges in the wood but I think bringing these issues to the "manager" would do me more harm than good. I thought I left a review for this before, but it must have slipped my mind. I used this moving company back in the fall. Terrible experience and not actually that reasonably priced. The guys who showed up were several hours late, which is really awesome when you're trying to only take a half-day off work. They paid no attention to which boxes were labeled as "FRAGILE" and "DISHES" and were throwing them on top of each other. One of the guys literally dropped the box with dishes on the stairs--right in front of my aghast face--because he had stacked the boxes in such an unstable way. Luckily I had wrapped the dishes in many, many layers, so there wasn't damage, but the lack of care was awful. Right after this, they demanded a $100+ tip. Also, Chris is a nightmare to deal with. Super nice when you're booking a reservation, and then right after you're on the hook, his attitude completely changes. Unprofessional and rude, and judging from his past responses on this page, he's going to respond with personal attacks to this review. read more

I was overall content with our move with Two Young Studs, though it was not without several big disappointments. They are a good value and generally took good care of our belongings. Our movers, Jeremy, Sam, and Joey, were all excellent and stepped up in unusual circumstances to make sure our move occurred. I cannot say enough good things about those three. My review gets lowered to a 3 star solely because of interactions with the management. Our movers apparently got assigned to complete another job before ours at the last minute. We got a call at 8pm the night before our 7am start time that our interstate move was being pushed back from 7am to 10am due to another quick job being added in the morning, which seemed fine. The movers finally arrived at 4pm, which was quite frustrating and had us moving until midnight when we were originally told we should be done around 3pm. The movers could tell we were unhappy about this and asked the manager to speak with me on the phone regarding the situation. He was immediately and consistently harsh, defensive, and inflammatory despite not at all being provoked. We likely will not use this company again due to the significantly delayed start time in combination with poor customer relations on the part of management. Unexpected things happen, and the delay would have been easy to move past had the manager just been understanding and polite about it. I again want to stress that the movers themselves were nice, hard working people, and this is not at all a reflection on them. read more

I would not use 2 Young Studs again and I don't know that I would recommend them to others. I had a local, cross town move in New Haven from a one-bedroom apartment to another larger unit. I was given an estimate of 2-3 hours, but the move ultimately took 4 and a half hours to complete. While there was some minor damage (a broken frame, banged up closet and dining room table), which I suppose is to be expected, and Chris knocked off $30, I was nevertheless deeply unimpressed with the level of preparation, attention and care of the movers as it came to packing the vehicle and maneuvering the items. Bottom line: it seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. It took me and my 75 year old father less than two hours to move the exact same amount of stuff... They seemed to spend most of their time trying to figure out what exactly to do with everything despite there not being much. Moreover, and while I am trying to be as sympathetic and understanding as possible, on what was the hottest day of the summer so far they brought neither drinks nor food to sustain themselves... I thought one of the movers who looked particularly unfit (2 Young Studs would be a misleading name for the company...) was going to keel over and pass out at one stage. It got to the point where I finally had to help them with moving things to push the process forward. Finally, despite having booked the move over two months ago and being the first customer for the time and slot, less than 24 hours before the move Chris called me to tell me we'd have to push the move to later in the day - while this was less bothersome in this instance as I was not on a tight schedule, I can imagine another customer might be unimpressed with the last minute change that occurred and subsequent inconvenience. I had thought 2 Young Studs was a "professional" moving service, but clearly, I was wrong. read more
