ABSOLUTELY AVOID…read more Kareem--"The Spin Doctor" as another review called him--is a menace. I figured that one bad review was just a result of someone having a bad day. Not sure if Kareem or the customer, but someone. It seemed to be an outlier. Surely with 4+ star rating means I'll get a decent experience. Kareem was my primary contact and who I arranged the move with. I sent videos ahead of time to show the job to be done. Kareem did not ask questions. I got a quote and decided to see what I can get done on my own with family to save money. Economy sucks, yadda, yadda. I came back and explained how we did some ourselves and there's less work to do now. I explained what was left. Kareem did not ask questions. I then asked for an hourly rate. I was given one, and we both agreed on the job. I paid the deposit. A few days later, the movers arrive (Kareem absent), and they were not informed at all of what the job was today. They also kept making comments about me being "on a budget" or something and being shocked when I explained the scope of the move. I felt Kareem fed them some nonsense instead of details about the actual job. The movers were fine, but their leader wasn't. 2 hours into the job, Kareem calls me and accuses me of trying to pull a fast one by going hourly (why offer hourly rates and accept hourly jobs if it's an issue?), misleading him about the job (how??), and saying men could walk off the job with my actions. What did I do? Was it that I sent videos and a description of the move? Was it that I agreed to the rate and crew he presented me? What could I have done worth men driving the crew to walk off the job? The entire call was very aggressive and backhanded. Absolutely asinine. Thankfully, Kareem didn't feed them enough nonsense for them to actually walk off, and so they completed the job... mostly. It was scaled back because Kareem apparently REALLY didn't want it all done. Maybe because he didn't send enough manpower despite knowing the job. At the end of the move, Kareem told the movers to collect payment. Now, this is completely reasonable. What's not reasonable is me not knowing the exact amount until minutes before yet being expected to have that money exactly on hand, and giving me an invoice from day 1 (updated at the end of move, via email) that has a due date in the future. I talk to Kareem again, and he says he needs payment immediately. Again, would be fair, if all signs didn't point elsewhere. I said the invoice gives a future date, and he blamed ME for it, saying I should have corrected him and he'd have fixed the invoice. I can't read his mind. I didn't know he made a mistake. I said I will pay, but I don't have the cash on me at this exact moment, and explain why as described above. He immediately gives me the shake down and jumps to aggression again, accusing me of playing games, etc... He skips actually trying to resolve the issue and instead threatens to call the cops. I offer to get the money from the bank immediately, but somehow he's still arguing with me about that. Apparently immediate payment isn't even good enough now. And he's going to have the movers follow me to the bank. What is this? Is knowing where I live not good enough that you need to aggressively "escort" me to the bank? Thankfully, The Spin Doctor backed off when he got his money. The crew themselves were mostly fine (if not a bit slow checking their phones at times--almost assuredly because of Kareem's failures in communication, or worse, Kareem harassing the crew?) and one item being damaged/broken. Again, avoid at all costs. I hope the men actually doing the work get a better gig because Kareem has no business managing workers or handling customers and his presence alone is good enough to write off the company. His communication skills are beyond abysmal and he went out of his way to insult me. It's a shame he's the owner. If my things weren't already on their truck by the time he called me the first time, I would've canceled and got someone else. Avoid yourself the frustration of dealing with The Spin Doctor and look elsewhere. ========== EDIT: Got a reply from Kareem. I can't address it all else I hit the character limit but here are the biggest parts: - Trying to save money is not a "red flag." - Kareem was shown the job ahead of time, and agreed to take it. - Yet his crew came unprepared and somehow it's my fault they were undermanned and had no gloves??? - I'm not obligated to tip or cater and I never agreed to (compensate your crew! I already paid!), but maybe I'd have tipped if Kareem didn't harass me, threaten to call the cops, change terms of payment, or the crew didn't break our things. Remember to listen the bad reviews. It's easy to leave a good review, but when you want to get it over with an forget about it, it's not tempting to take the time to explain your bad experience. If there's a few really bad reviews, chances are, there's a lot of bad experiences. ==========

While searching for a local mover, I came across Yelp reviews for Zip to Zip Moving and was impressed! As such, my husband and I decided to engage them for our move. I contacted the company by phone and went over our needs for moving. Alex immediately provided us a quote and followed it up in writing. The company kept us informed prior to and throughout our move. They let us know by text when they were on the road to us, and when they were close to arriving at our apartment. The charge did not begin until they arrived. George was the lead/supervisor and there were two other movers with him for our move. They were all experienced and skilled movers, as they were strong, able to navigate tight staircases, in addition to an extremely challenging entryway into our townhome. George had assured me they would have no problem navigating our two-piece L-shaped leather sofa through the entryway, and he did just that! George stayed on top of things throughout the move. He made sure things were placed to our satisfaction, and that we were happy with everything when finished. They finished in a timely manner, and our move was beyond our expectations. The move charges were exactly as quoted, and we were extremely happy with all aspects of the move. We highly recommend Zip to Zip Moving, and we will definitely be using them for all of our future moves!

THEY REALLY DESERVE NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!…read more Terrible AWFUL company. Based on the many bad reviews I see this is how they operate on a daily basis and do not care as long as they are collecting the usurious, undisclosed and unauthorized fees they charge. They lie, pull bait & switch antics, change quoted prices and every single employee from Aaron to Julio to Amber to Jessica are nasty, rude & ignorant, not to mention AWFUL at their jobs. They all back up each other's bad behavior and lies every chance they get. They are also terrible at what they are in business for because many of my stored belongings were damaged and broken, including a vintage coffee table they stored on its side and then piled heavy boxes on top of it, breaking one of the legs. Not surprisingly they ignored every attempt I made for restitution. Their unprofessional approach was for both Aaron and Julio to ignore my emails & hang up on me each time I called. This horrible company-which operates eight-8!-moving companies under 8 different names-should be shut down. Why 8, you ask? How else could they stay in business under one name with all the complaints against them?

I want to start by sharing the positive. AMAZING movers. Dominique, Josè, Chris, Shaon, Eric and…read moreAngel were strong, pleasant and worked the whole time, taking great care with my belongings and my home as they moved furniture and boxes. Now the truth about this company. 1. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND WAY MORE MONEY THAN YOU HAVE TO AND DEAL WITH DIFFICULT MANAGEMENT. For the move out, the crew showed up 4:45 on a Friday evening, 15 minutes before they closed for the weekend. The following expenses resulted from their unavailability. 2. DO NOT STORE WITH THEM. It was at about 8PM, 3 hours after the movers had started packing up the truck, that I learned that the unload took as much time as the packing up, since my belongings were to be stored in small crates that needed to be carefully loaded to maximize the small space. And if $50/month/crate sounds cheap, know that my home (I lived alone!!!) belongings filled 7 of them, for a whopping $350/month (At a storage place same square footage would have been more like $200/month with a quick and easy move in, right there saving a fortune in hourly charges of $180/hour) 2. THEY INSIST ON ALL MONEY UP FRONT...Like I'm going to stiff them when they have my entire home in their truck! Because I was unwilling to pay up front, hoping to be able to leave my belongings elsewhere after learning of the time-consuming unload (At $180/hour) they kept my stuff in the truck and were not available until Monday (Their fault, NOT mine as I tried to call them but they were closed. Remember, the movers showed up 15 minutes before closing on that previous Friday!) They could have/should have called me on Saturday to discuss why i had not paid and what I wanted to do. Clearly they did not because they were closed and had no intention of unloading the truck before zTuesday anyway! They attempted to charge me 4 days of storage on their truck at $200/night. Are you kidding me? Since THEY were unavailable to discuss this new development in my charge, and various options? 3. THEY CANNOT COUNT OR BE TRUSTED TO KEEP THEIR WORD. I was assured that the $350/month was for the 1st month and then would be a daily charge after that. When I was finally ready to move into my next home, I arranged the date (I must say that the owner did make special arrangements to accommodate my move in date. Kudos to Aaron) and as soon as the movers arrived, it was "pay up first' policy. And they attempted to charge me $385 for the partial month. Not only was this not a per diem charge (I was 4 days short of a month, thus should have been 26/30th of $350, or $303), but they could not even remember their normal rate and I had to argue for the $350/month charge (Remember, it was $50/month/crate and supposedly I had filled 7 of them.). I had to pay this $350+8 hours labor up front before they would open the doors of the truck. I was not comfortable paying in advance as that would necessitate trusting that they would refund the overpayment should it take less time. 4. THEY WILL TAKE EVERY SINGLE PENNY THAT THEY CAN. I paid the 8 hours and it took them 7 but they only refunded me $130, NOT $180+4% credit card charge, since it took them 10 minutes to get to me (They drive OLD slow trucks) That's when I asked for the refund on the overpayment on the storage but of course I was denied. Shocking! 4. Again the movers were amazing but I would HIGHLY recommend using another company that has good reviews. Did I mention that only after I began to see the untrustworthiness of this company, did I bother to look at the reviews (MOSTLY BAD and about 2 stars). Believe what you read from the public. We know and can save you a lot of frustration and even money

Top Tier Moving - This is the damage they did to my TV

This wasn't a moving experience, this was an absolute SHAKEDOWN…read more If you're even considering TopTier Moving, ASK THEM WHO IS ACTUALLY SHOWING UP DAY-OF! If the answer is Move King, LLC....RUN. I got ripped off, big time. I was completely taken advantage of and my valuables showed up shattered beyond repair. To this day, they refuse to take accountability. I've moved over 15 times in my life. I've worked with reputable movers and shady ones, but NOTHING comes close to the absolute trainwreck that is TopTier Moving (a name so ironic it's almost offensive). They quoted me about $3,600 for my move. Reasonable. But when the movers actually showed up, Move King, LLC, TopTier's third-party vendor that they never warned me about, they immediately told me the job would cost me an additional $3,000. No discussion. No explanation. Just a bait-and-switch right at my front door. Let that sink in: before a single item was moved, I was already being held hostage for $3,000 more than I agreed to. And it only got worse from there. My TopTier "point of contact," who was really just the sales guy who convinced me they were a reputable company, ghosted me immediately after my initial payments were processed. He never once answered a call or email after I paid. Move King tacked on ridiculous charges like $300 because the hallway in my building was "too long." That's not a joke...they literally charged me by the foot to walk. Every step they took seemed to cost me more money. I ended up paying over $7,000, nearly double the original quote. And what did I get for it? A shattered ( and brand-new) $1,300 Google TV, broken in transit despite paying top dollar for boxes and "protective wrapping." So much for professional care. I had to take the time to write this because companies like this should be shut down. I've never experienced a company so unethical in my life and I hope this doesn't happen to you.

Bitched and complained the entire time of how hard the job was even though the itemized list hadn't changed since before they even showed up and blamed everything on management nothing was his fault. El paso side wasn't to bad they price gouged me more by charging over 75$ which was there contract price for over 7 steps or 2nd floor and charged me 150 instead even though it was only 12 steps not even double the amount that was free per there contract. They didn't show up high which was a plus but we're still reckless getting things in have a few damages to apt I'll need to fix myself and a damaged dresser that I just threw away there was no salvaging it. They left before everything was unboxed but we're at least pretty professional about things and didn't bitch and complain the whole time didn't argue with me or try to get every little penny they could out of me so simply from them.being a world above the first guys I tipped them but overall will never hire this company again not that I intended to to.begin with and probably never hire a professionalover again for the amount spent.

Ultimately our experience with U-Pack was ok, with some great features and others that were not as good. I ended up going with the set-up where you fill a portion of a storage trailer. (There were no cubes available by the time I called them.) When I first made the call, I received great customer service during this very stressful moment. Sure, they want my business, but the agent did a great job being thorough and addressing my concerns. Also, the automated texts throughout the experience were helpful. I appreciate the flexible pricing - based on the amount of trailer you fill - and they could deliver a full week earlier than PODs. Amazing! At the same time, other parts of the experience were not great: - I wish there had been information upfront about the size of locks that were needed to secure the door and the panel inside. I ended up having to buy 4 separate locks as I was attempting to get the size correct. - When we received our items on the CA side, two of our boxes had water damage. One box was so wet, that it was falling apart. The second box, which had less water damage, was an electrical device. Luckily, the electrical device was not damaged, and the seriously wet box only had exercise weights inside. The liquid smelled like water, so I wonder if it was something else that was loaded behind our stuff that made these pieces wet. It could have been a lot worse, but it was certainly upsetting. - The driver who ultimately took the trailer away after the trailer was empty damaged a tree. The city took care of removing the branch, but the incident should have been reported.
