I was fairly impressed from the outset; my realtor had suggested two moving companies and the first made me less than comfortable and I moved on to the second. My calls to Marie's were always returned promptly and politely. Questions were answered and everything they said they would do was done. Moving day went relatively smoothly, even given the fact that there were ten men doing the move out of my house and only one less at the new place (which is smaller and required "finding" space to put things toward the end). People introduced themselves at the beginning of the day and were respectful and helpful throughout. I thought the pricing was reasonable and I was able to "donate" some larger pieces of furniture that I'd not been able to decide about till the bitter end -- too late for me to dispose of them easily, yet too big to fit into the new place. I felt the additional charges involved for that were nominal and I hope the items were deemed worthy of donation so that someone could make use of them. All in all, I am more than satisfied. I hadn't moved in twenty years and, prior to this move, I'd been in a smaller house for twenty-five years. I had acquired a lot in the interim and, as a result, had spent many weeks packing, donating and disposing before the actual move took place. I did have Marie's pack the kitchen and, whether I'd done the packing or they had, nothing at all was broken or damaged. Despite their name, Marie's is not a woman-owned business; but, it is run essentially by family members. I suggest you hire them!! read more

Marie's Movers: These folks are absolutely incredible! As good as it could possibly get, their service can only be described as absolutely the best. It has taken me a while to get around to writing this review because I have been so busy since the move was completed, and I wanted to take time and give it my best effort. They certainly gave me theirs! The move required numerous conversations on the phone with me, to review emailed pictures of furniture and items existing in my sister's vacant home in Connecticut to be moved here to Indiana. They were friendly, they were helpful, no matter to whom I talked, each one contributed advice, explanations, and assurances as to how the project could be completed. I found myself feeling more and more confident that I had found the right movers, so much so that I no longer felt it would be necessary for me to go to Connecticut to supervise the move! I was right. And, not one single thing arrived in Indiana damaged! They make wrapping and packing an art. It was amazing! Many items were antique glass, family heirlooms, cherished pieces. They took exceptional care filling cartons; glass lamps arrived in perfect shape. The schedule was kept, the delivery man was courteous, careful, helpful, friendly and arrived as expected, on time. They kept me informed all the way at every step. Their cost estimating was quick, competitive and accurate. I heartily recommend Marie's Movers. They will rise to the occasion of an unusual request and help you out. read more

Best moving experience I ever had! I was in a bind and was going to use Clancy's in Newtown for my move of 1 mile, for which they quoted me $800. It was 7 large pieces of furniture and some smaller stuff, totaling 11 items that had to be moved. I was ready to go with Clancy's when a friend suggested Marie's Moving, which I didn't know anything about. I visited there location where the two ladies who were there welcomed me and said they'd be glad to help. They said it would be $95 an hour with two men and a one truck. The truck showed up exactly when they said it would be there and Jim Anctil (the owner) and a young associate. They wrapped all the furniture, brought it to my place, unwrapped the items, assembled my queen bed and accomplished it all in about 2 and 1/2 hours. The total I paid was $261 (vs $800 for Clancy's). I have moved about 8 times and this was the smoothest, most professional move I ever experienced. I recommend them as highly as I've ever recommended anyone and if your looking to move anywhere, give Marie's Moving a call. You won't regret it. Ray Filakosky read more

We moved recently, as many people do, but our move was somewhat unique. We had decided to move to a different place that we eventually moved to where we are now. A fire occurred at our original move, making us change plans. Marie's Movers worked with us as to possibly put our furniture in storage, but almost at the last minute we found a place to move into, and Marie's Movers adjusted all the plans. They have been great to deal with. On moving day, they sent a great crew of young people who worked especially hard, never seeming to be tired and always while working hard, could not have been more easy to deal with, as we changed where certain pieces of furniture would be going. The crew leader, Chris and the entire crew were simply great. The young women who set up the move, were delightful to deal with and were very aware of our unique situation. The young man Andrew who came to our residence to give us a quote is also a wonderful representative of Marie's Movers. I recommend without hesitation, Marie's Movers. Ron P. Southbury read more

Marie's Movers is an excellent company! The level of integrity and professionalism start with your first phone call. It is not the "norm" to have a Retail Store in this industry, so this is one more point in their favor! I moved the first week in November and I could not ASK for a better experience. My crew was professional at all times. Initially it was booked as a two person job, but it ended up being a 3 crew job. Yes, more money, but they moved much more quickly, so the bill came to less! If you do not give Marie's no cost, no obligation estimate a chance, you are a fool. This company is staffed with knowledgeable, professional, polite, respectful movers. A very different experience from the 6 other moves I've experienced ~ whether it was a local move, or a cross-country move. Kudos to Marie's for the best moving experience ever! I will refer you to anyone I know who is even THINKING about moving and those who are moving. Not to mention if/when I move, I will be a repeat customer! Keep up the good work Marie's!! read more

Moving, no matter the reason, can be overwhelming. That is what happened with a friend of mine. It wasn't until we happened upon Suzanne, a most professional and helpful person at Marie's Movers. As soon as Suzanne greeted us, I knew my friend was in good hands. She treated us as if we were long lost friends who were reuniting. My friend, for the first tim the since this process began, felt like she had important information, the necessary supplies and an amazing resource she could rely on for additional help. Suzanne guided her through her packing needs, packing tips and resources that would be helpful throughout this process. We left there with one of the hardest part of moving... getting started, completely doable. I walked in with an anxious friend who was overwhelmed and walked out of Marie's Movers feeling confident and equipped to tackle moving. I will be ever grateful for the professionalism Suzanne showed, her knowledge and her compassion. Thank you Suzanne and Marie's Movers!!! read more

Highly recommend! I have used Marie's Movers in Southbury, CT for three moves over the course of the last two years, two within the last few months. Two moves were within CT, one was over the boarder into Massachusetts. The company communicated very well the costs involved, called in advance of the date and morning of, providing good communication as to when the the moving truck was on the way so we would have an idea of an arrival time. The movers who arrived were patient in scoping out what was to be moved, describing what they would be doing to move the furniture safely and working at a pace that was careful but mindful of the time we would be charged. In all instances our furniture arrived safely with no damage. The cost was reasonable and worth every penny for the type of service and expert moving that was performed. We rec'd a follow up call from the company to ensure we were satisfied with their service. read more

Highly Recommend Marie's Movers! I can't say enough great things about Marie's Movers! From start to finish, their team was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely a pleasure to work with. Moving can be stressful, but they made the entire experience feel seamless and well-organized. They handled everything with care and respect, treating our home and belongings as if they were their own. Not a single item was damaged, and they were mindful of walls, floors, and tight spaces throughout the move. What really stood out was how efficiently they worked--quick but never careless. If you're looking for a reliable moving company that delivers outstanding service with a positive attitude, Marie's Movers is absolutely the way to go. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them to anyone in need of top-notch movers! read more

A family member was recently moving into an assisted living facility and we hired Marie's Movers to move her furniture, personal items, etc. I found Alice to be courteous, professional and upfront as to what the fees will be, the time frame, etc. The three individuals (Michael, Anthony and Katie) that came to make this move were friendly and respectful to us, but especially to our elderly cousin. As you can imagine, it was a very stressful situation. They we efficient in packing the truck and were very care to wrap everything to insure a safe trip. The unpacking went quickly and all furniture and other items were delivered without incident. I would not hesitate to use Marie's Movers in the future. read more

Five stars all around for Marie Movers. I can not say enough wonderful things about this company, starting with the owner Jim, to the folks in the office to the amazing crew who moved us. I was moving from a Condo on 12/21/2020, where of all things, the service elevator broke down that day. This increased the movers walk from my unit to their truck significantly! Never a complaint. To them, it was, what it was. The Crew worked so hard. Everyone was just great. I highly recommend Marie movers. I have moved close to twenty times, and Marie Movers was not only the best, but the best of the best. Moving is very stressful. I can attest that this is one company you can use without hesitation. read more

Jim and his team did a full pack up and move of our home from Virginia to Maine. This was the first time we ever had professional movers move us. Jim and his team were AWESOME. They were professional, thorough, polite and took great care of all our belongings. I fully expected there to be some issue, some damage, something lost but nothing like that happened. I couldn't have packed as well myself (and I am super uptight about how I pack). We had to make changes to the schedule then arrange to store our stuff and everything was "no problem, we can do that". I would absolutely use Marie's Movers for my next move and recommend it to anyone I know. read more

I was very pleased with the service we received from Marie's Movers. The owner came to our home personally to give the quote. The men arrived on time and were courteous and professional. We did have an issue which was addressed by the crew promptly. The owner made sure the issue was taken care of and worked hard to make sure we were happy with the results. Too many businesses today have no personal involvement. When you call your just a number. Marie's Movers is family run and cares about their clients. Jim is totally involved with the move and this makes a big difference. I would recommend this mover highly because of the service I received from Jim. read more

I found this company on Yelp, when I needed help in Litchfield. All the 5-star reviews are spot on! The office is extremely organized and professional. Peter and his crew were friendly and careful, and worked together as a real team to move a monstrous 8 foot long, 400lb wine cabinet from my garage, around back and under a low deck to my walk-in basement. They uncrated, moved then unwrapped and lifted the unit onto a platform, then made sure it was correctly positioned and aligned. It was painstaking and arduous work, but they were cheerful and positive the whole way. Not a scratch on the unit... these guys are total pros. Highly recommended! read more

If you're looking for caring, efficient service with the personal touch, this is the moving company for you. From the office staff to the moving crew, I could not ask for a better experience. Moving is always a stressful situation, but when you are moving an elderly parent who has more things than you know what to do with, it can seem impossible. But Marie's Movers not only took care and consideration with all our possessions, they were able to bring some items to donation and dispose of things that we no longer could use. What a relief!! Forget the big chains, bring the business back to the neighborhoods where we live. Thanks to all of you!! read more

I found Marie's Movers to be top notch from beginning to end. They were easy to work with, even as I made some changes along the way. They work with some non profit NGOs that take donations of furniture and took one item of mine to a donation center as part of the move. This was a big plus. My furniture was in fine shape and unloading, the crew was so helpful and patient as I decided where to place furniture. I would highly recommend this company. I moved out of state and they worked with me all along the process, even as my storage needs changed at the last minute. You can trust that they will not surprise you with additional charges at the end. read more

We had such a great experience with Maries Movers. Right from the start, Kae and Suzanne made us feel important and special. The moving team were on time and treated with care the special memories we have from my mother's condo. They had to deliver the items to two separate places. Everything was well planned, and the move went without any concerns. They also very quickly to respond immediately to the small minor issue along the way. I would HIGHLY recommend Maries Movers for any moving needs you have - large or small - they treat the customer as # 1 and with care. Thank you to the entire team!! read more

I'm not normally a review writer, but as I relied on reviews to find Marie's Movers, I should relay my experience. From the start they were professional and courteous. They were able to accommodate a summer move on short notice. The crew assigned to my move (Dustin, Al, and Nick) were energetic, careful and focused on customer satisfaction. I had numerous large and fragile pieces to move and they did it with ease. Fees were very reasonable and there were no surprises with the invoice. To be brief, I can not recommend this company and crew highly enough. The job was perfect. Well done guys!!! read more

Our business used Marie's to move the company from Southbury to Middlebury. I got a quote from them early to have a solid date of the move. They were awesome! From the quoting process right through the delivery into our new offices. The guys that came were very friendly and immediately started the task at hand with little to no chatting with each other. They work quickly and professionally. Their pricing is very fair and we were very happy with our end pricing. I would recommend them to anyone. On a personal note, I used them twice before and knew what to expect. Only the best!! read more
