He was super nice and down to Earth when speaking to me. The move was not big at all, basically gathering things from a closet and shipping them down to us. The phone reception was trash at the facility, so he had to call me on a land line. He had to keep running back and forth to where the items were located and talk to me on the phone, as we did not want everything sent back to us. He was so kind and patient during the whole process. My estimate was extended even after seeing how few items I was moving, but I was told that once an actual end time was established, I could call for a refund of unused time. 9 days and 5 calls later, they refunded most of what I was owed. The movers gave me an official end time, and their office charged me for more. I am sick of fighting and calling, they can keep the additional money I was owed and I just learned a lesson to not use or recommend them to anyone.

Edit: I am updating my negative review in the positive direction…read more TLDR: I was happy with the owner and should I need moving help, would happily give Two Brothers a call. After seeing my review I received a call from the owner (Christoper) and we had a cordial conversation. He went over my concerns and addressed them to my satisfaction. I will go over each concern in order. The original review is further below. 1) Yelp apparently does not give businesses the opportunity to put anything on the page to properly set expectations. While the page on Yelp says users will get a quote based on the questions it asks, it apparently doesn't gather sufficient information to allow the movers to do so. Therefore the setting an incorrect expectation of getting a quote after supplying the requested info is a problem on the Yelp side and not something Two Brothers can impact in any way. 2) Apparently Yelp forwards the information entered to multiple parties to give them an opportunity to compete without informing users they are doing so. In my case, the anonymous text I received seems to be from a competitor rather than from Two Brothers. 3) The part of not giving me a call back in an hour (called the next day instead) as promised was an error on their part and Christopher took responsibility for it. He said there was no way to know if they will be free in that amount of time because they won't hang up on someone or otherwise interrupt assisting another client to give someone a call back. The employee should have said he would attempt to call back in an hour but would call back no later than next day. In short, I found Christopher responsive, professional, quite cordial, and pleasant to speak with. As stated above, I would happily give them a call should I need moving services again in CT. ------------------------------------- Initial review follows: ------------------------------------- Based on my experience attempting to get a quote, I don't think I will be using this company. I filled out the Yelp form to get a quote. Instead of a quote, I received a text back about 10 minutes later from a person who didn't identify themselves or their company. It said to expect a call tomorrow to go over how they can help me. The unidentified person said I should contact them if I didn't hear back. The next morning I did get a call but it was at a time when I had a prior appointment and couldn't talk. I asked if they could call back a little later and the person agreed to call me back in an hour. I never received the call back. Essentially they fell short multiple times in setting expectations and keeping commitments (yelp quote not provided when the info was provided on their form, not identifying themselves when contacting me, not verifying a convenient time to call, not giving the promised call back. All of this may be considered minor but it is a pattern. I can only imagine what I would have to go through if a major problem came up and I had a similar experience in trying to get assistance. I'll be exploring other options to see if anyone else can display a higher level of reliability and professionalism on the first contact.

Would not recommend - it's a good value (cheapest movers we found), but you get what you pay for…read more Very poor customer service. I spoke to Kareem on multiple occasions prior to the move. He kept asking me to change our pickup day and time. Each time I told him I couldn't change my plans. He could have simply told me it didn't work for them, but each time he'd say OK and I would confirm the day, time, and location of pickup at the end of the conversation. Then the next day he'd ask me to change it up again. When the day finally arrived, he texted me at 6:45 am and told me they were going to be almost 3 hours earlier than the scheduled time. Again, at no point did he disclose there was a pickup window. He had confirmed our appointment on multiple occasions. It almost ruined the whole process because we were picking up our item from friends, so I couldn't just randomly change the plan with no notice. Kareem was rude to me on the phone when I called him about this and said "things change". Then he billed me an invoice for our balance due before the job was done and texted me about payment. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Moving is such a ridiculously stressful pain in the...ah...neck, but after my first phone call with Tom Gleason, I knew I chose the right company. I was all over the place with the dates I needed for drop off, for moving... but Tom worked with me and even threw in some humor that helped me maintain sanity throughout the process. He didn't run from my craziness, he accommodated my craziness. I'd like to think he may have actually even liked my craziness. Maybe that's too presumptuous of me. Anyway, we need more Toms around. The 20' unit we rented was perfect. The driveway drop off locations were perfect. I spoke with 2 of the drivers on the phone and met one for the final pickup just now (at 7:15am. Nice! When Tom says he'll have it picked up first thing ... he ain't kiddin!). Everyone I spoke with or met is super nice & friendly. Makes a difference when you're having to deal with all the stresses of moving. Oh. The pod itself! Probably shouldn't leave that out of the review. The pod was great too. Tons of rain (I'm talkin torrential downpours) while we had it and not a drop inside the thing. Use this company. Excellent customer service, great product & reasonable prices. A trifecta. After talking to them, I knew I wanted to go with them. Their customer service, attention to details, and organization are 5-star levels. One thing that really stood out to me was that instead of asking me how many boxes I need, they asked me to send them pics of my place and stuff, and they calculated the number of small, medium and large boxes I need. It's so easy to underestimate and get a different price at the end. Also, I know I wanted packers because its speeds up the entire process of moving and settling in. I'm so glad I did with Roadway. It usually takes me over half a week to pack and be stressed for over a week, but Diego and his 3 teammates packed up our studio in 2-3 hours. They're so professional. They moved so quickly with care and accuracy. Most importantly, all my kitchen appliances were wrapped with care and delivered and arrived to my new apartment in the same condition. It took us about 2 hrs to settle in, and they once again unpacked most of the furnitures and reassembled them, making me feel settled in and relaxed. I cannot thank their team enough. I worked with Geraldine for the initial virtual walkthrough to get an estimate of the costs. She was amazing. They have a local moving company in San Diego that they work with. On moving day, the movers came and picked up our stuff and put them into 4 wooded crate containers. We opted for the crate containers because we needed to put our stuff in storage while we shopped for a house in CT. They drove our stuff out to Newtown, CT where they put our items in storage. From the on, I worked with Kyla on billing and let her know when we were ready to have our items delivered to the new house (about 2-3 months later). We paid for a portion of the bill upon pickup of our items and then the remainder upon delivery. We also paid a monthly fee for few months of storage. The overall communication with the company has excellent. The movers on both sides were great. Roberto, our lead delivery person (2 guys) that delivered our items were great as well. They were quick and asked to make sure where things should go. Absolutely recommend for local and long distance moves! They made it much easier to move cross country!
