It's really hard to find an honest and reliable AC company. I've used others before that I feel took advantage of me when quoting "necessary repairs." I will always call Ace Air first now. I have used them several times and they are fast, reliable and Trustworthy. Whether you need routine maintenance or have an emergency these are the people to call! Thanks Ace Air! read more

This past September the AC unit finally gave out due to Arizona's harsh conditions. We watched with horror as the thermometer climbed past 94 degrees inside. We made it through the brunt of the heat and searched for a way to scrape up enough to make a down payment on a new unit, unbeknownst to us we'd been nominated by Kris Ohannessian over at ACE Air to be the lucky recipients of a brand spanking new unit absolutely gratis. With a few phone calls and a surprise visit from an ACE Air "elf" tech, we were on our way to a cool house. When the day came for the new unit to be installed, KJ himself came over with his staff on their day off to give us the gift of cool air. The entire experience was wonderfully simple and completely professional. Complete with their great guarantee on parts and labor ACE was quickly in and out of the house, leaving us with a cool house we can enjoy again. I'm confident in singing their praises, a company with such integrity and genuine compassion for their clients and the community deserves all 5 stars and then some. If you're looking to maintain or replace your units, call ACE and they'll take great care of you. Thank you to ACE Air! read more

I hate to write negative reviews but when you nearly cause someone to spend $2500-$12000 purposelessly, then you deserve it. I have a PM service agreement with this company that I purchased years ago when they serviced my ac. That was a mistake, as this simply marries you to them whenever you have a problem with your air conditioner. So when we weren't getting any cold air in the house, I naturally called them to take a look. To their credit, they came right away and subsequently made a correct diagnosis that my compressor was dead. So after trying and failing to get the thing to work, the guy went outside and called his manager. (This immediately reminded me of what happens when you buy a car) He came back and told me that I have two choices: replace the compressor at $3500, or buy a new unit. He did discount the replacement to $2800 since I was on the hook for their PM plan. Being a savvy consumer, I told him I wasn't prepared to spend that amount of money without comparison shopping. He protested that all the next guy would do is undercut the price and I would lose the remaining years on my PM plan. Which, funny, they were willing to service the unit the builder put in, so why not one installed by a competitor? I was lucky that my compressor failed in October rather than July, giving me plenty of time to look at all my options. I researched both routes- a new unit and replacing the compressor. The units the guy wanted to sell me were high end 9-12k ac that would have taken the rest of my life to 'pay themselves off.' I determined a 5-6k unit was my best option. But that aside, I didn't need a new ac anyway. I found the part online for $1078. So the labor is $1800? I dont think so. After contacting another contractor, I found out that replacing the compressor should be $1500- $1700. He also clued me in that they jack up the price so you will make the leap and buy a new unit. But wait, there's more! Digging even deeper, I found out that my compressor has a 10 year warranty. A quick call Goodman, and they told me I just needed to have a contractor take out the old one and exchange it with them. All I would have to pay for is labor. So, in conclusion, this company is out to maximize profit, but they are doing so by minimizing consumer value. I caution anyone that needs ac work to go elsewhere. Also, if your ac goes out and it's super hot outside, think about staying a night or two in a hotel while you do your diligence and find the best deal. read more

When you live in the desert, AC is crucial, even moreso than water at times. ACE was professional and courteous when they came out to service my parent's AC unit. The staff is responsive and generally accommodating to your needs, given the peak season where everyone wants their home to feel like an igloo. The field techs are hard working and knowledgeable of what works best for your needs. The only reason it is a star short is because the tech had damaged the attic opening but I credit anyone willing to go up and suffer the inferno of a crawl space. I read the various reviews and given I've used ACE several times for my family needs, my experience has been great and would recommend them! read more

The technician they sent out was very smart and very knowledgeable but on the other hand they sent him back into my house with an offer of $900 which is more than double what I paid to put the identical motor in to another one on my house. And that was not including Parts. I can't imagine what their overhead is or the reasoning Behind a two hour job $450 an hour labor seems a bit excessive. And that's not including Parts wow glad I'm not desperate read more

We bought a home that had a transferable 3 year warranty purchased from these folks. The warranty was purchased in May of 2014. We called since there was some condensation buildup in the attic unit. Oh. The warranty is transferable BUT it does not cover labor for a new owner and since the unit itself is a few years old, it doesn't cover parts either. What a SCAM!!!!! This warranty cost the seller almost $600. We obviously will never do business with these people and suggest you think twice. read more

I sat here for three hours this morning waiting for my service call and they stood me up. No phone call, no email, nothing. A complete waste of time. I had to call them afterwards to find out what happened. "Oh we need to reschedule due to a large number of service calls...we called and left you a message". No they didn't. I checked my phone log and I didn't receive any calls this morning and I didn't have any voicemails either. I'll go with someone else. read more

The good guys! I came back from 2wks of leave to return to a non-working garbage disposal w/a couple leaks; frustrating!! Made the mistake of going w/a recommended guy to take a look at it. They guy he sent did not impress me one bit, no feedback on what the problem is, nothing. I then called ACE Home Svcs & they definitely delivered!! On time, professional, friendly, told me what was wrong AND helped w/the leaks on top of my garbage disposal issue. Work was fast, clean & works great! Had called for a second opinion on some ac issues at a restaurant I worked at. The guy who came to check out our issue pointed out some issues that none of the other repair companies even noticed. We ended up having ace do some of our minor repairs a couple times that our land lords ac company was either too slow to repair or just didn't do correctly. We have to have ac for our restaurant customers during these brutal summers while our land lords repair company was always busy probably from doing half ass work on their other locations and doing repeat repairs and always showing up days after calling. Which in the hot summers feels like an eternity. Ace always showed up the same day or the next morning. read more

Avoid this company like the plague. Some very questionable sales/scare tactics. They try and make a personal connection by sending a bio and picture the tech that is being dispatched. They are not interested in offering repairs just replacing AC units. I was told my AC was obsolete and needed replaced for $11000. I had another company come out and replace a wire that went bad for less than $200. There is a reason for all these horrific reviews. By the way my Nest Camera's caught our entire interaction. Maybe I should upload it to social media and send it to my friend at 3 on your side to get some additional press for this shady company! read more

Avoid this company. We bought a new a.c. unit from them not even 3 years ago. Every summer it breaks. It broke yesterday and we are still waiting on a tech. Due to our warranty with them. They told us they would be out yesterday. Cut to today and they won't answer my dads calls. My parents are 75 years old. In a house with no AC. At this point I am calling in another company. No sense of urgency for their customers. And nothing but trouble since we bought the unit. Really poor service. I urge you to look elsewhere. read more

I used ACE Home Services after I bought a Groupon for an AC service visit. The technician showed up on-time and set right to work. After being on the roof for a little while, he returned and informed me that my coils were absolutely filthy and showed me pictures to prove it. He explained why I would want my coils cleaned, so I hired him for the job, which he did right then and there. He estimated it would take an hour and a half, and it did. I can't attest to how fair ACE's pricing is because I didn't shop around for coil cleaning. However, the technician did a great job, kept me in the loop, and met all my expectations. So why not five stars? This is my first experience with ACE, and they're honestly the only interaction I've ever had with any AC company. Thus, I have no comparison. I'm happy with the service, though, and would recommend them to others. read more

We just moved to AZ and needed a gas line put in for our gas dryer. I contacted the local Gas company for some references and ACE Home Services was one of the few that were provided. After contacting all, I decided to go with ACE. I was a bit skeptical to use ACE given the reviews I read about their A/C service, however my interests surrounded plumbing. The main reason for this was Patrick Halling. He is very knowledgeable about the gas and inspection requirements needed to ensure a successful implementation. In addition, of all the plumbing companies that came out to give a quote, he was the most courteous and respectful. That for me went a long way. Patrick and his colleague, installed the gas line promptly, cleaned up after them selves, and when the inspector came to ensure the gas line met the city codes, they came back to check that everything went as planned and to see if I needed anything else. I was so happy with the service that received from Patrick, that I also asked that his manager contact me to so that I can provide him with the reasons why I was happy with his services. Though I can't speak about ACE Home Services' A/C services, I would recommend their plumbing department (especially Patrick) for anyone looking to add a new gas line, extend a gas line or any plumbing related services. Give kudos where kudos is due and in this case a big "Kudos" to Patrick and ACE Home Services! read more

We've had a 3-year contract with ACE that includes yearly check-ups @ no cost & 10% off parts (& labor, too, I think). I think it has been worth the $600 cost based on their yearly evaluations of our two A/C units. But without time or energy to check prices against other companies, who knows. The costs for repair over the past three years have never been high. Never have any problems with our older units. Leads me to believe ACE is an honest company. But each year, trying to sell me a new unit, the company uses the bait-and-switch tactic. Quotes a repair cost as well as cost of new (& better, I know), A/C unit. New Carrier for $5400. Repair old 1998 Trane for $1400. But wait! Just spoke with manager & $5400 unit was reposed last week. Almost brand-new. It'll cost $4200. Oops. Manager was mistaken. That one not available. But manager will honor the quoted $4200 price for new $5400 Carrier unit since it was his mistake. Kept Trane & repaired it. Good, solid brand. Carrier is an entry-level A/C company. So basically good repair company but don't like sales tactics. Service people always charming & personable. Perhaps that's part of the marketing scheme. Who knows. read more

Ace Home Services delivered Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness and a great Value. This is our 3rd home using Ace Home Services for complete AC installs. This time around it started with a service call as our AC quit working on Wednesday night. I scheduled a appt on their website at 11pm and received a call Thursday morning confirming my appt. and window time. Next I received a text message stating Service Technician Robert Mitchell is on his way along with a picture and his Bio (Nice Touch for sure). Robert arrived right on time and walked us through every step of his diagnosing the problem and explained every test he conducted. The compressor was toast along with most of the components as I already knew from the heat & burning smell coming from our outside unit. Robert quoted us for what it would take to repair it however this was a Trane that was 14 years old so really not worth spending a lot of money fixing so we told Robert to quote a new unit. After some back and forth with Robert and his Mgr on the phone we agreed to what I knew was a very good price so we scheduled a install for Saturday, 2 days out not bad for the summer time. Today I received 2 more text messages saying they were on their way and had 2 more pictures and names along with their Bio's of the installers who were going to be installing our system. Wan Kim & Anthony Rust arrived 8am sharp introduced themselves we walked the job at hand and they got started. They tarped the area and started to disassemble the old units and than installing the new ones. Here comes 2pm and my home is starting to cool down already they were done! They cleaned up like they were never here walked us through the system and off they went another great Install by Ace Home Services. I am in the service industry and with the largest company in the US for what we do. I wish our service delivery was as good as Ace Home Services, we definitely can take some pointers on how they run their business and deliver customer service excellence. Job Well Done! read more

I called these clowns based on the recommendation of a Handy Man that I use. Things started out great as they sent me an email with a picture and bio of the tech that would be out and when he showed up on time, I was VERY impressed. However, things went downhill from there. He told me that my ac unit was 20 to 30 years old and needed to be replaced at a cost of $11,800, and of course, he could offer financing as well. I ended up calling another a/c guy and he came out and told me that my unit was 10 years old and in the a/c world, that was almost new. He replaced a broken wire and charged me a $65 service fee and my a/c is working great!!! Read these reviews folks, there's a common thread here! I have checked around to a couple of AC companies and each company told me something different. A couple of friends if mine have used ACE and had great service. I called ac to have just a regular tune up and the tech did a great job. On June 30, 2015, Ace Home Services performed a tune up to my air conditioning units. On the morning on July 4, 2015, my house felt warmer than usual and I checked my thermostat only to find that it was blank. I contacted Ace Home Services and they sent someone out. Since services were performed within 30 days, the service call was free. Considering the 4th was obviously a holiday but also on the weekend I felt fortunate at this point. When the technician showed up, he discovered that the AC Disconnect had melted. He informed me that the only way for the AC to work was to replace it. Not wanting to be extremely uncomfortable, I had him replace it. He informed me that it would cost $300. Worried more about the comfort of my family and not the cost, I had him replace it. The next day I took a picture of the melted disconnect and showed my brother, who is an electrician. He informed me that the melted disconnect was due to it arcing which was most likely caused when the AC tech did the tune upon June 30th. I then showed the disconnect to several HVAC technicians and they all said this was from the disconnect not being put back correctly, thus causing the arc and the AC unit to shut down. I then contacted Harold Dotson at Ace Home Services. I emailed him the photos to look at and he immediately stated that is from normal wear and tear. I asked him if he could come out to my house so I could discuss this with him in person. 2 weeks later he finally showed up on July 23rd. I informed him that I did not think this was intentional in any way, but was caused by the technician not putting the disconnect back on correctly. I said that I would like my $300 refunded since the faulty disconnect was due to his technician. He refused and said he would give me a 20% refund and to expect an email about the refund by July 25th. I finally received the letter on July 30th, but more on that later. Harold said his company is a A+ rated Better Business Bureau company. So the next day I decided to go to their website http://www.acehomeaz.com/ and noticed they are A+ accredited with the BBB; however, when you click on the BBB link and go to the BBB website, it states that they have "No Rating." I contacted the BBB and found out they have 35 complaints against them and were not accredited with the BBB. Furthermore, I checked their Yelp page and found a few other instances similar to mine. So when I finally got the refund letter, I became completely insulted. It read: * ACE Home Services (ACE Air) and The Undersigned agree that ACE Home Services (ACE) will provide a refund in the amount of $60.00 per invoice #S89185. Upon signing of this release both parties agree this is the final and complete restitution in this matter. By signing of this release by The Undersigned you agree to release your right to post negative review on all Social Media, Complaint Departments and not limited to News Media. We arrived home from an extended vacation to find that the air conditioner was not working. I called ACE and within 30 minutes Robert was at our home diagnosing the problem. After determining the compressor was shot he developed a plan and went over the cost to fix with me. He checked on the availability of a replacement and was at our home with the parts first thing this morning. He made a couple of suggestions and we added the service plan. Upon finishing the work Robert went over everything with me. He was very personable and professional. I highly recommend Robert. read more

Terrible company. Beware. They try to con you into buying a new unit when you dont need one. They came out, said my compressor wasnt working. It was working--it was just the starter. I had someone more honest come out to tell me that because these scumbags at ACE were trying to rip me off. It's very scary actually. Stuart Meyers came out, he makes jokes often to try and get you in a good mood, he only tested the functionality of the compressor, not the starter. If he checked the starter, he would have seen that the starter was the problem. But they dont care--Stuart's only job was to get me to buy a new unit. He failed. I wish i could talk to more people who call ACE to warn them--you will get screwed out of thousands of dollars by being told you need a new unit when you dont need one. read more

My husband and I had both our AC units go out within a two-week period, in the middle of June/July. First we called Ace and then a company through Costco. The only reason we even tried Ace is because they advertise on channel 3 and they're a local company. Both said we needed new units at $6,000 EACH. We called George Brazil for a third opinion. The technician has been here for about an hour and the downstairs unit is already working. It'll end up being a little over $1,000 for fixes and optional equipment. Ace didn't even give us the option of replacing the capacitor, they said we needed a new unit. The cheapest they said they could do was $2,500 for a new condenser which didn't even make sense because he also said the compressor was bad ($3,500). We also didn't appreciate Tim's high-pressure sales tactics. I will say the technician was very responsive. My husband left a voicemail yesterday (Sunday) and he called us back this morning. But if they are going to lie to us it doesn't even matter. Needless to say we won't be using Ace again. I'm also warning my friends through Facebook. And I'll be linking the Dateline exposé from a few years ago that I just found... They haven't changed their lying ways. read more

I scheduled a $20.00 tune up on my AC, then ACE called me back to remind me that I have a service contract so there would be no charge. Francisco was my service tech, he was very nice, the first question he asked was how old is your filter? I said it needed to be replace and he said if you have one I'll replace it for you. I really appreciated that. After inspecting my AC he gave me the status of my AC and did not try to sell me, he simply said what might be necessary in the future with a quoted cost. The service window was 12:00 - 3:00 and they were late at that but I figured since it was 110 degrees outside they were pretty busy. I also called ACE since they had purchased the company I'd bought my current AC Unit from. Stuart came out a day after I called (no one was available that day) and promptly tried to sell me an $11,000 unit. He told me they wouldn't honor my warranty from the other company. Since my current unit was refurbished I decided I probably did need a new unit, so I got him down to one that cost much less. He was very friendly and funny while talking to me, gave me a quote and told me that my financing didn't cover the entire cost and that I'd need to give him a check for the remainder ($204.64), which I did. Everything seemed okay. The installers came out two days later and installed the new unit, but forgot to bring the filters. I was told they had texted their manager about it and someone would be calling me to set up another appointment. That never happened. Instead I got a call from them telling me I owed a balance of $95.04! I told them that was not what Stuart told me. Someone from accounting told me she'd look into it and call me back Monday. I also told them the installers hadn't finished the job and I needed them to do so (install the filters) asap. I was told everyone had gone for the day. So now I'm stuck with no filters until someone decides to call me back. Really disappointed with the way they've handled things. Be very careful if you decide to do business with them. Late one night, I signed a contract with Ace Air to install a Carrier unit on my roof. The next morning I did some research on AC brands and found Rheem being the 2009 leader in fewest repairs (6 year study). One of our good friends also had a Rheem installed just days before. I mentioned this to Ace Air and he stated "If you buy a Rheem, you get Rheem'd." Knowing this, I felt Ace Air was not an option for installing a Rheem unit. After talking to Simply the Best AC and Heating, they mentioned I could get a $1000 rebate from Rheem and $300 from SRP. Ace Air only told me of the $300 tax credit. I really like the way Simply the Best AC and Heating treated me and so I decided to cancel the contact with Ace Air (per the contract, I had 3 days to do so). Simply the Best AC and Heating installed a new 16 SEER Rheem unit that day with all custom fabrication. The sales person (Russ) was on the job to make sure everything was done correctly. The next day, we found that Ace Air cashed our $4000 deposit without performing one bit of service. No problem... Just need to get it back. Well, that's where the problem lies. My wife contacted the sales manager and she emailed him a written copy of the cancellation letter. He verified that was an acceptable method of cancellation. He mentioned he would get a check that day or the next morning. No call that day or anytime the next morning. I tried several times to contact the sales manager with no luck. I was put in contact with an accountant which hung up on me. I went to their facility to prove that the check we wrote was posted to our account. I offered many ways to prove it cleared our account but they would only accept me pay $3 to have my bank (which is their bank as well) fax a copy of the check to them. I waited at their facility for 2 hours until they issued me a check. Oh, Simply the Best AC and Heating filled out all the rebates for me and highlighted all the places for me to sign, etc. All I can say is, before you pick a company to install an AC unit, do some research. Look at reviews as they speak for themself. Good luck! read more
