I am extremely disappointed with Turn It On Electric and will never use this vendor again or recommend them to anyone. Charging $285 for a fix that took literally two minutes, without ever disclosing that minimum charge upfront, is the kind of business practice that makes me want to warn every homeowner I know. I want to share my full experience so others can make an informed decision before booking with this company. I had a bathroom outlet in my rental home that wasn't providing power -- it was newly installed about a year ago and this was the first time I tested it. I called to schedule an appointment, and the person I spoke with walked me through scheduling and availability but at no point mentioned that they have a $285 minimum service charge, regardless of how simple the job turns out to be. The electrician arrived and diagnosed the issue almost immediately: a switch/breaker in the main panel had simply been left off. He flipped it back on, tested the outlet, and confirmed it was working -- the entire fix took just a few minutes. Despite the simplicity of the issue, I was charged the full $285 minimum. I understand service calls have overhead, but I feel strongly that a charge this significant should be communicated clearly at the time of scheduling, not after the technician has already been to my home and the work is done. Had I known about the $285 minimum in advance, I would have asked more questions or looked elsewhere. I'm not disputing the technician's professionalism. No showed my appointment with no call from them. In an industry that depends on customer service, there's plenty of other options. Just a courtesy call ahead of time would have been good, but they just no showed. When I finally called them they called back to see if they could come later but the were already hours past our appointment and I wasn't going to wait longer for them. read more

I was told the tech tried to call twice and didn't reach anyone, however, all my calls are logged by my phone so this is impossible. 285$ to replace one breaker is pretty pricey. I rated the company based off the expensive costs to do business with them. As well as lack of caring to comply with an itemized bill request several times. 2/7/24 consumers reply to company response : I asked for an itemized receipt and this is what I was given, no break down of where the $285 dollars went. I had to ask for an itemized receipt four times- four different ways (text/call/in person with the tech). I was quick to pay to get the problem fixed but quickly realized I could have had the job done for much cheaper. Definitely will not use this overpriced company for the house electrical needs again in the future. I would have returned if the cost was itemized better but it seems a breaker and a trip charge from who knows where equates to $285. Not a solid reply from the company.
