Was having multiple problems with my installled outdoor landscape lights. Contacted company and was informed Sam Ayala would be out in morning to diagnose and give me an estimate. Arrived on time, we walked the property, and he quickly diagnosed all my issues. Best of all, he had the equipment he needed on his truck to fix me up, and installed everything in less than 30 minutes. New outdoor controller I can program and control from my phone. Found some loose connections in one of my outdoor lights, dug down and secured it. Pricing was fair, and work was flawless. read more

Great service! Sam explained everything from what to expect with install, impact to our electric bill and the million different ways to enjoy your lighting for the next 20 years. Even referencing how the manufacturer has a huge network to support in the future. The team came out early and was finished before lunch and my lights had the neighborhood sending me text the next morning. I highly recommend and thank you for the beautiful lights.! read more

I had my yard lighting installed by Desert Outdoor Lighting back in 2017, and they did an outstanding job. As of 2026, all of the lights are still working perfectly without any issues. Because of that great experience, I decided to hire them again to install permanent roof lights. They clearly use high-quality materials and have very professional installers. I wanted something that would last, and I also wanted a company I could trust working at my home even when I wasn't there. Naturally, they were my first choice, and they definitely proved that I made the right decision. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants their lighting project done right without wasting time dealing with problems or unnecessary hassle. read more

Desert Outdoor Lighting - one of the 200+ patterns to select - Lighting Fixtures & Equipment Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Yesterday Desert Outdoor Lighting repaired and replaced 30 landscape lights that had been neglected over the past 17 years, since we bought the home. Sam the owner and his son Noah did an awesome job. They truly care about their work and it showed last night when the lights came on. Every light was directed correctly and the job done perfectly. In addition, working with Sam on the pricing and the project was super easy. He's a very knowledgeable, professional and fair person to deal with. I assume due to his buying lighting materials in bulk, he was able to repair and replace my broken lights, bulbs, wiring and timer for about the same price that I would've paid for the materials alone. In addition, they provide a 5-year guarantee on every light and BULB! 5 years!!! If you have any outdoor lighting needs, I can attest to the fact that Sam, his son and his company is by far your best choice. read more

Based on Yelp's positive reviews, I hired Desert Outdoor Lighting to replace landscape lighting bulbs around the house and to replace damaged fixtures. I recently hired Desert Outdoor lighting to install front and backyard lights. Working with Sam and his team was easy and my lights look great! I like that the lights are under warranty and there's a big difference between commercial grade lighting and lights you purchase at big box stores. I had a great experience and I'm very happy with the way the lights look and the responsive and excellent service I received. read more

I had a last minute mishap with someone that was servicing our pool and popped out a light. The wires were exposed and I've got kiddos and dogs so this made me nervous. As I was leaving the neighborhood, I just happened to see the business van and a worker walking toward the house. I pulled over and asked about thier company to which the man grabbed his boss and came promptly out. They said they could take care of it, and they immediately! They were extremely fair priced, fast and did great work. I couldn't have been more lucky to find Sam and Desert outdoor lighting, I will absolutely be using them for any future mishaps or holiday lighting!!! read more

I agree with all the previous positive comments. We had lights reinstalled in the front and back area that included new wires and retrenching. In contrast to the do-it-yourself lights etc. having professional installation and expertise is well worth the added expense. Sam and his crew did an exemplary job where they removed the old wires and fixtures while leaving the whole yard gravel areas tidied up and looking new. read more

Sam did an outstanding job repairing the backyard lighting that was damaged when landscapers cut wires while redoing watering system. The two guys arrived on time and were friendly and professional. They were able to fix the damaged lights and buried all the light sockets to make it all look very professional. They also suggested upgrading lights to newer LED lamps...... it looks better than it ever has and was worth the added cost. I would totally recommend Desert Outdoor lighting for any and all outdoor lighting needs. read more

Solid business and staff. Excellent expertise, advice, and execution. I would recommend Desert Outdoor whole heartedly.

Excellent and immediate service. I know who to call the next time I need help with my outdoor landscape lights.

Sam and his crew are top notch! Worth the wait. Sam's quote and quality far exceeds other companies who are nearly double in price. Warranty and quality guarantee can't be beat. Sam returned to my home a week later to make some adjustments and could not have been more accommodating. Thanks for the great work Sam! Highly recommend this company and plan to tell all my friends and family to use this company! read more

Sam and his team did an excellent job on our landscape lighting. I highly recommend this company. We had some old landscape lights that were broken and not working. Sam promptly came out and gave me a quote. He and his team arrived promptly and completed the job in a few hours. The professional lights they installed look much better than what we previously had installed. Sam is professional and easy to work with. I had new outdoor low-voltage lights installed. Desert Outdoor Lighting, Sam, did an outstanding job. He knew what he was doing and was extremely knowledgeable. He was courteous and friendly. Sam and his team transformed our yard! I feel like we're living in a resort and can now enjoy every corner of my beautiful landscape. We took all his suggestions and let me tell you, he knows what he's doing! And he didn't try to oversell us! As a matter of fact he showed me more economical options without us having to say a word and, now this is crazy, our final bill actually ended up being under what we originally planned. They came on time and did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. It was a true pleasure working with him and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for adding and extra Zing! to their landscaping lighting! read more

My outdoor lights in the patio quit working some time ago, along with a few spotlights that needed attention. I fount Sam online and called him. He scheduled to come out the same day. nice young man. told me if he couldn't find and fix the issue there would be no charge.... he was professional, worked for an hour. found the issue, corrected the problem, cleaned up after his work and check everything to make sure all of the lights were working as they should. I would recommend Sam for any lighting issue you might have. His price was more than reasonable. I was very impressed with how fast he found the problem...thanks, Sam.. you can have any potential customer call me if they want a personal recommendation.. Mike Guintard read more

We recently had Sam install 9 inground lights for our trees. The result looks simply great, beautiful. They arrived on time, worked quickly and effectively, were friendly and caused no problems. And, they left our yard looking better than when they arrived. Also, the price seemed very reasonable. Highly recommend. We would never use anyone else. Thanks Sam. read more

I almost hate to write a great review because Sam may become so busy, he won't be able to find time to work on my exterior lighting. All kidding aside Sam showed up on time and ready to work. He not only knew how to fix the lights but had all the parts necessary to complete all the work. I thought his prices were in line with the professional job he did. He will be my forever lighting guy. Plan on having him out annually to do a check and in between if needed. Can't recommend this nice young man enough. read more

First of all I want to state that neither I nor any member of my family is related to Sam. Sam just finished a complete front yard lighting re-do and a modification of our back yard lighting design. My wife loves it. What once was a dark and uninviting entrance is now looking great. It was a complete pleasure working with Sam and the Desert Lighting crew. Desert Lighting is a small, but growing company so there maybe a delay in getting the work done, but it's worth the wait. Sam understands he can't just add staff willy-nilly without hurting the quality of the work his firm does, so he's adding staff slowly. If you're patient you'll get a well lighted yard. read more

I chose this company based on reviews and my experience went very well. Sam went and looked at the property even though I couldn't be there...he executed a plan, and a few weeks later, lights are in and all went well, good work, site was completely clean and you couldn't see any evidence of buried lines. I will call Sam again to do the backyard and have referred him to others. read more

Not often I can recommend a business with 100% confidence but will definitely spread the word about Sam and Desert Lighting! He made time for my small job, recommended great ideas but also listened to my ideas. My install was a week ahead of schedule and I wasn't able to be there but had complete confidence in Sam. He was always in communication with me and emailed detailed work invoice. If you're thinking of lighting up your yard I say do it...you will not regret it!! Lynn D read more

I found Desert Landscape Lighting on Yelp. Used the quote button to ask for new lighting added and some lighting repair. Didn't ask for any specific time or date, just for someone to contact me. To my surprise I received an email that said Samuel the owner sent you a message on Yelp "Sorry I'm booked for this time we are not taking any new repair work. Sorry for the inconvenience". Looks like they will sell you lighting but not repair it. I called North Star Outdoor lighting and the owner Todd answered the phone and immediately set me up an appointment. We have been enjoying our landscape lighting for the past couple of months and thought I would share our experience with the Yelp community. From the beginning, Sam was courteous, timely, and respectful. He came out to our house, asked questions about our needs/budget, and offered his thoughts and vision for the property. The project was scheduled for three days, but Sam and his team were done in two. He even offered to come back after a few days for tweaks. The end result transformed our front and back yard into a real oasis for us. We love what he did. Give Sam a call, you won't be disappointed. read more

Sam is the owner and actually does the work. Many of the "landscape lighting specialists" are really salesmen who have others subcontracted out to do the actual work. You'll never see your "landscape lighting specialist" again. Sam is a real professional. When he's doing your quote, he's taking copious notes and making suggestions and recommendations for you to consider. He's looking for the right lighting in the right place. He is courteous, punctual, and professional. We had quotes from five different "landscape lighting specialists" and when we reviewed the quote and landscape lighting layout from Sam, we hired him on the spot (of course, it really helped to have a 5 Star review from Yelp's 34 reviewers beforehand). If you consider Sam to do your landscape lighting, you will have no regrets as he does an OUTSTANDING job!! read more

I got quotes from 2 other do-it-all landscape companies but when I met Sam with Desert Landscape Lighting, I could tell he was a specialist in lighting only. He was the only vendor who came with in-person hardware samples and also took careful measurements and talked to me about light and shadow radiuses. We couldn't be happier with the results. My husband, who was considering doing the lights himself, still comments on how much of a difference professional lighting makes on our home's appearance. We now have the best looking house on the block at night. For a better price than the other two companies we ended up with landscape lighting that is much more thoughtful and professional looking than your regular ol' pathway lights, etc. Highly highly recommend this vendor. read more

I reached out to Sam via his great Yelp reviews and he was not only quick to respond but very thorough in his explanation of his offerings. Sam treated out home like it was his own, repositioning the lights to get maximize performance and aesthetics! We are blown away on how good the lights look outside and when taking a late night swim!
