I called on a promotion for AC maintenance and had them come out. They did a multipoint inspection on both of my units and found an issue with a condenser fan drawing a little too much current. I declined the service as it was over $1k and I am handy and purchased a spare on supply house just in case. But they have a great deal if you want spring and fall checkups for a reasonable price. For $19 a month they come twice a year for the heating in fall and cooling in spring, which also includes a weather heater flush. These are definitely worth the cost so I set it up. This price also includes priority repair and a 10% discount on parts and labor I believe if you're needing work done. If you are on aren't mechanically inclined, these guys have you covered. read more

I should have stopped using them when I said I would. I had a brand new unit installed march 2025. The first time I changed my filter there was all kinds of debris left up there and I noticed air was escaping from around the handler. I had them come back to clean it and they sealed the area that the installer forgot to do. Prior to that, there were little flakes of black ash left all over my walls from when he cut through metal. I ended up cleaning it myself. About 2 weeks ago, I saw something in my vent. It was a wad of the tape they used to tape the hole they made in the metal wall. July 2026 they had to come out because it was blowing warm air. Told me it was a surge. Sold me a surge protector for $477. The next day same thing happened. Started blowing warm air at around 2pm. Adjusted the sub cooling and cleaned the coils. Prior to this, they came out in March for my spring maintenance. Didn't they bother to clean the coils then? Also, during the spring checkup the technician didn't put his ladder at the correct angle. It slipped and made a hole in my wall which they did fix but my picture frame was broken and they didn't replace it. July 25 or 26 I called the office because I was supposed to receive the info to register the surge protector online. She said someone would call me Monday. It's now two weeks later and still no effing call. I've had it with them. I'm calling one more time to provide the info. Next, I'm going to have a different company come out to inspect the installation because I no longer trust their work. read more

I would strongly discourage anyone from using AC & Plumbing Doctors. We signed up for their membership expecting peace of mind and quality preventive maintenance. Instead, we got poor workmanship and real damage. During the maintenance visit, they said our system needed a new capacitor. We trusted them and paid for the replacement. Just two weeks later, we had to call them back for a clogged drain, something that should have been caught during proper preventive maintenance. That incorrect installation of the capacitor led to the drip pan overflowing, causing water to leak into our ceiling and flood. After spending about fifteen hundred dollars with this company, we still didn't have a working system we could rely on. We finally called Scottsdale AC Pros, and they immediately identified that the capacitor had been installed incorrectly. They corrected it. That is not preventative maintenance. That's negligence. If rate 0 stars if I could. My AC broke on may 9th and may 10th a tech came out and said it was a dirty filter. It then broke again with a LARGER issue on June 9th and officially a work order was put in on the 11th a tech came out on the 12 trying to tell me again it was a dirty filter. I then called at 6am the next day asking a new tech to come out and they said a dispatcher would contact me. Around 3pm I called saying that no one reached out and they told me they were waiting on my property company for approval. I called my property company and they said they were waiting on AC doctors to send it over so I called them both merged the call were AC doctors then told me it had not been sent over and they would forward it to the office, that was Saturday. Sunday my property company reached out to me to let me know they STILL hadn't received an estimate to approve and were waiting on AC doctors. This morning I texted my property company they said they approved the quote at 8am and that AC plumbing doctors would reach out to me only to tell me that they won't be available today. SAME DAY FIX is bullshit. 24/7 is bullshit if they can't get things sent over for approval or parts ordered on the weekend. read more

Our experience with AC & Plumbing Doctors was extremely disappointing. The first technician who came out incorrectly diagnosed and "fixed" the issue, but the repair lasted less than 30 minutes before the problem returned. A second visit was required, at which point the actual problem was identified and it was determined that our AC unit needed to be replaced entirely. Unfortunately, the installation process became another major issue. What should have been a straightforward replacement turned into a 12+ hour ordeal because the technician wired the new unit incorrectly. Rather than contacting additional support or another technician, he spent several hours attempting to troubleshoot his own mistake. As a result, we were left without air conditioning until approximately 8:30 PM, with indoor temperatures reaching around 85 degrees. At the time, we also had a three-month-old infant in the home, making the situation especially concerning. As tensions rose due to the length of time and circumstances, the technician behaved unprofessionally and continued arguing with a member of our household even after being asked to leave the discussion and focus on the repair. To make matters worse, after the installation we continued experiencing issues with the system. When we attempted to contact the company for follow-up service, our phone number had apparently been blocked. Instead of communicating directly with us, the company informed our property management company that they would not return because they claimed their employee had been harassed. This was surprising given that we felt the technician's conduct was unprofessional and contributed significantly to the conflict. Mistakes can happen, but how a company handles those mistakes matters. Between the misdiagnosis, installation errors, lack of communication, and refusal to address ongoing concerns, this was one of the most frustrating service experiences we have had. read more

Nothing is scarier than having your AC go out in the middle of summer. Unfortunately, this happened to us twice this past year. Fortunately, we had a recommendation for AC Doctors. Both times we called for our outage, the technician arrived within a few hours of our initial call. The scheduling was easy, and the folks we spoke with were friendly and accommodating. My 12-year old HVAC system finally gave out and I called A/C Doctors, the same company I called upon to conduct original inspection before purchasing my home and have called on ever since. I appreciated A/C Doctors offering me an alternate of choice: replace coil and compressor for less money versus buying an updated version of same HVAC unit. It wasn't difficult to divine that first option were bandages and so we went forward with the new unit. The discount and credit for last service A/C Doctors performed reduced my out-the-door price and were welcomed by this pilgrim. My installation appointment window was set between 7 and 9 am. Eddie and Guillermo texted me in advance and arrived at 7:45 am. If you want to be harassed daily with constant, unwarranted calls, voicemails, and text messages, this is the company for you. It's a real shame because the technicians seem to be knowledgeable and do good work. Unfortunately, their customer service department is relentless. Even after asking them to stop contacting me, they continue to reach out multiple times a day, from different phone numbers. This kind of aggressive, unwanted communication is a terrible way to do business and completely overshadows anything their technicians might be able to do for you. Absolutely impressed with A/C & Plumbing Doctors! I submitted a request for quote through Yelp late Friday night around 8:30 p.m. after discovering I couldn't shut off the water from my outdoor hose bib -- only from the main valve, which wasn't ideal. Of all the companies I contacted, A/C & Plumbing Doctors were the first to respond. They actually called me that same night to set up an appointment between 8 a.m. and noon the next day. At 10 a.m. Saturday, I got a text and email letting me know that technician Ulysses Cervantes was on his way. He even called to let me know he was about 40 minutes out -- great communication! Once he arrived, I explained that I was having trouble with both front and rear spigots. Ulysses checked my water pressure, found it was over 100 psi, and recommended installing a pressure reducing valve along with replacing both hose bibs. I agreed to the estimate and he went to work right away. He was meticulous, checking for leaks multiple times, and made sure everything was properly installed and functioning. He was also extremely friendly, respectful of my space, and clearly knows his trade well. He even pointed out that the city shut-off valve was leaking and advised me to have them come repair it -- something I wouldn't have known on my own. This is exactly the kind of service you hope for but rarely get. Fast, professional, and thorough. I wouldn't hesitate to call A/C & Plumbing Doctors again and highly recommend them -- especially if you're lucky enough to get Mr. Cervantes! read more

My A/C went out on a Saturday, and I called them to see if I could get it repaired that night or the next day. A person answered the phone and said he could get me an appointment between 8 and midnight that same night. I waited until midnight, and no one show up or even communicated that they weren't coming. I called and got an AI bot that was completely useless. I would have rescheduled for Sunday (as the real person offered as an option), but the AI bot told me to call back during business hours. The Arizona heat isn't going to wait for me to fix my A/C unit, so I had to call someone else. read more

Mark is amazing! We had 4 people out prior to Mark, nobody could find the problem including a "professional" electrician. Mark took apart the thermostat (he was the first tech to step foot inside the house) followed the wires from the thermostat up into the attic up to the roof. He found a couple of problems that weren't even related to the issue and did his best to fix someone else's mistake. He eventually found the issue after about his third check which was refreshing after the first techs just looked said they couldn't find it and left us without an AC that worked with 4 children including an infant and our pets. Oh man they were good 7+ years ago, always loved that they will do last-minute overnight Emergency calls for no extra fee. But these days, that's about all they have going for them. Now AC Doc are GREEDY MFs. Constant UPSELLING, and BUNDLE PRICING which you don't want unless you want to pay double to quadruple to just get it done and not think about it. Horrible invoicing with no transparency. I even requested itemized invoice or quote but they will not provide it. I went back to an independent plumber who charged five times less with transparent labor, number of labor hours charged, and parts cost. AC Doctors wanted $800 for a $150 toilet repair. And this was after I specifically request requested a very simple, basic maintenance tech with zero upselling. Next I found a wonderful local AC company that charged HALF for a brand new HVAC unit and was very on top of individualized service. In case you don't know, "bundle pricing" or "built-in pricing" is a common term for the practice where companies include costs like service fees within the total price of the job without explicitly itemizing them. Some HVAC and plumbing companies use a "trip fee" or "diagnostic fee," which they say is low upfront but then roll into the final cost if you proceed with the repair. This can make it seem like there was no separate charge, but in reality, it's absorbed into the total price.. read more

Horrible customer service. I would not recommend. If you need to be serviced within 24 hours, they will not make the dead line. They are a contract vendor with Invitations Homes and treat "Renters" like trash routinely missing agreed times of arrival and not showing up at all. I have unfortunately had several encounters with this company. I will provide photos of them recently not showing up to fix a broken unit as they agreed to, and keep in mind in AZ that if a vendor doesn't show up to do a job within 24 hours, then they are not a reputable business. They overload thier work schedule with Invitations Homes tenets, booking them, so they get the contracts, then sit on the overbooked schedule knowing they do not have enough technicians to complete all emergency job tasks within 24 hours! Do not use them. If you are an Invitation Homes Tenet, you have rights in AZ, having no AC in the summer is considered an emergency to be addressed within 24 hours. Report them when they don't and request another company. I Do not recommend if you need help within 24 hours. Report them to the BBB Commission. All good reviews from them are generated bots, employees, or their partners in crime , Invitations Homes Maintenance Department, in my opinion. My opinion is based on 7 years of interacting with this unprofessional company and I have the receipts to back it up , photos coming soon! Avoid! Your technician was rude, condescending and unprofessional. You had your opportunity to display good customer service. You are routinely rude and your rude technician had his face covered, knock it off and stop harassing me. Your response is trying to save face. This is a pattern you should look into instead of making up excuses and being greedy by overloading your work schedule. Have a good day! Stop harassing me. I previously had good relations with AC Doctors. Last time they sent a new person in training with an experienced tech for a regular spring AC checkup. Several days later, I started experiencing A/C issues which I never had. I had the parts replaced they recommended but still problems (the unit would turn on for 3 seconds, then off for 5 seconds, then back on. Had another AC Doctors tech come out and he said it could be anything (but he did not do anything). After sending them a video of the glitching on and off, they came out again same day or next and since it was not glitching (turning off and on) while the tech was here, he said he could not diagnose. Then I called again a day later and to my luck, they could NOT get anyone out in hot June (2021) for another day. I called A/C by Jay and they came the same day, and went up to our attic air handler (Which AC Doctors never did) and found the problem was when the rookie came to get trained, he pushed insulation over something (or something like that) that was blocking something with the air handler. In summary, I paid $90 (that is a good price for 2 units if they send competent workers) to have 2 units checked, hundreds more to replace the contactor parts they recommended, and had 2 follow-up visits where they could not solve why my unit went on and off (which started after their maintenance) - all of it wasted except perhaps the contactors. I don't have any problem with them sending someone new but don't make my unit worse than when you started and mind the neebies. Our AC "went out" sometime between 3:30-4:15pm today while we were at the grocery store. Everything seemed fine but there was no air blowing out of most of our vents, and lukewarm air coming out of the kitchen vent. We were pretty stressed as this is a fairly new unit (replaced in 2017). I hopped on to Yelp to find someone to come out and went with AC Doctors due to their reviews and their verified license. By 4:30pm we had a technician scheduled to arrive between 5-8pm. By 4:45pm I had a text message telling me who our technician was, along with his rating and a picture, and by 5:07 our doorbell rang. Ian quickly checked our AC and diagnosed the problem (which was due to our own stupidity with a filter) and had our AC back up and running within minutes. We purchased our home 2 months ago and the sellers were supposed to fix the condensate line in our attic prior to close, but it was clearly not done by a professional. Ian was able to get that fixed and help prevent dry wall damage in the future. Overall, this was a very positive experience, and we will definitely be using AC Doctors again in the future! read more

We've used AC Doctors a couple of times in the past and always felt they were honest and reasonable - however, after yesterday's service call, we will likely be looking for another company to work with. The technician, Kyle, was very personable and took his time answering my questions but was clearly steering me toward completely replacing both of my entire systems for tens of thousands of dollars. He explained that the capacitor was bad and we were low on refrigerant probably due to a leak in the system, which he said wasn't worth his time or mine to look for due to the age of the unit. He also said he was unable to recharge the system because it uses the older R22 coolant which he claimed is either completely unavailable or extremely expensive - adding that even if there was some available, recharging would end up costing almost as much as a new unit and he wasn't allowed to recharge systems anymore because of EPA restrictions. I did a quick internet search and found several suppliers who carried R22. I called the first one and was told I could buy a 30lbs cylinder for about $500 - which was expensive but clearly a better option than a $24k total system replacement. When I pointed this out to Kyle he firmly restated that he wasn't allowed to handle R22. As he was preparing to wrap up he asked if I wanted him to leave the new capacitor he'd installed "to test the system" since it was at least helping blow a bit of cooler air. The cost for that was $470. I agreed because it seemed better than suffering the heat while we decided what to do. However, since that time the air has worked perfectly with just the new capacitor. After he left, I did some research and discovered that I could have bought an identical capacitor for about $20 and easily installed it myself - that said, I would have happily paid the $75 service charge and a reasonable mark up on the capacitor just to have an experienced technician do it. All together, I'm no longer confident that AC Doctors has the customers best interest at heart and is willing to seriously up charge ($400 to install a $20 part) and upsell ($24k complete system replacement) even when I repeatedly asked if there was a cheaper solution - even if it was more short term or even temporary. Two stars because we've been satisfied in the past and hope this is an isolated case. But, we'll be seeking recommendations for a more ethical company. read more

One unhappy customer here. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone because the new AC unit I got this time last year (that cost me over $18K) has broken down twice in the past month. We're talking Phoenix summer heat, house getting to nearly 100F with every fan running. The workers let us know that it was installed improperly but the company (Crissy) denied any wrongdoing and wouldn't offer a penny even though we paid top dollar. Expect them to over promise and under deliver. If this helps just one person then I've done my job here. Proceed with caution: as long as you know what you're getting into with these guys.
