We ended up calling Top Notch to complete a water heater replacement that we needed at a rental property. Mark picked up quickly and gave an estimate over the phone (something that most plumbing companies refuse to do without a trip charge or visiting). After reviewing a number of companies listed on Yelp, I called Top Notch yesterday requesting a quote for replacing my kitchen sink faucet. The price was reasonable and Gavin came over already today to do it. He works very fast, it took him much less time than my no longer available former plumber who installed the predecessor faucet (same make and model). Then I wanted to talk to him about water filtration, I have both a reverse osmosis filter and a soft water system, both old and not well maintained. He explained the choices and costs, clearly and succinctly. I wasn't ready to spend for a new softener system but I really wanted to replace the RO because I don't like using plastic bottles. We had them do some new shutoff valves and we were not only happy with the work, but happy they were willing to provide the price before sending someone out. I get that on bigger jobs someone may need to see it, but something like this is cookie cutter. We had a minor issue with a PRV after turning the water back on, but their guy came back out and confirmed we were good to go. So I forgot to write this back in November and I'm sorry. Mark and Conner came to remove my old faucet prior to granite being installed in our kitchen, then came on time, finished quickly and returned the next day to install the new faucet. Very professional, easy to deal with and if I need a plumber they get my 1st and only call!! Now today I needed a plumber, called Mark as I had my water softener leaking in several different hose & pipe connections. Spoke with Mark, he responded by setting me up within 1 hour of my call. Gavin and Mark were great. Our water softener manifold burst at 10:30pm on a Friday night. We had a huge flood in our garage and had to turn off all water to the house. I messaged Top Notch via Yelp at midnight and got a response from Mark by 6:30am. Gavin was out by 9am to survey the situation and had the plumbing fixed and water back on by 10:30am. Gavin came back at our request on Tuesday to replace the whole water softener. He tested our exterior lines, fixed some leaks from years ago, and billed us a very fair amount. I chose this company for the positive reviews and feel as though I was completely taken advantage of for my situation (I was home alone while my fiance was at work). The fee they charged for the work completed was INSANE. This was to replace a shower handle and cartridge and were charged $325 for the plumber to be there for maybe 20 minutes. $100 for the shower handle/cartridge and $225 for TWENTY minutes of labor. On top of that, the plumber missed the fact that the diverter in the shower that he worked on was not functioning correctly, but failed to notice or mention it. We had other plumbing work done recently (including fixing the broken diverter) that required a much more intensive resolution and was charged literally half the price this company charged us. I highly recommend checking elsewhere as I feel we were totally ripped off. read more
