    invoice clearly shows I paid for a safety switch that was not installed

    I've reached the limit of my patience with Airtime. My experience has been a consistent pattern of missed diagnostics and negligent installation. I bought my condo in August 2024. I have a ceiling-mounted 'pancake' unit (common in condos) that was only 3 years old but had a persistent grinding noise. Despite sending multiple technicians, Airtime was completely unable to diagnose the issue. One tech flat-out said, 'That's just what these units sound like' after only 10 minutes of looking. I assure you normal units do NOT make the grinding noise. Their inability to troubleshoot a relatively new system left me no choice but to buy a brand-new unit from them in March 2025. The real issue arose nearly a year later. I had a routine service on Oct 20, 2025, and the tech failed to notice that a critical safety device (the float switch) was missing. ​My original installation invoice from March 2025 clearly lists--and charges me for--'"install new condensate overflow safety switch." Despite paying for this, it was never installed. For 11 months, I was unknowingly operating a system without the safety shut-off I explicitly paid for, leaving my home exposed to preventable flooding risks. It wasn't until February 2026 that a Senior Technician (Garret) finally caught the error. He was shocked it was missing, telling me, "We install these on every single new unit. Every single one" To his credit, Garret was transparent and installed the part immediately, and informed his manager of the situation. However, fixing a safety hazard a year later does not excuse the fact that Airtime left my home unprotected for 11 months. They couldn't fix my old unit, they failed to install critical safety parts on the new one, and their maintenance tech missed the error on October 20. Shout out to Garret for finally noticing, otherwise I'd still be unprotected. ​I cannot recommend a company that demonstrates this level of carelessness with safety equipment.

I initially decided in Dukes of Air in May 2016 after our…read morecondo air unit bit the dust during a hot memorial weekend and the only online venue back then that was avail was Yelp- no Nextdoor, no Reddit... even though this company was bought out- I'm sure several of the original techs still are there doing the same crappy work-- see photos! I had them come out YEAR after YEAR and each time the tech would complain about what the last did. Aside from making a disgusting mess with all of the black tar over my closet room, the front and back concrete patio- they did a Jerry Rig Each and every time! And they stripped the screws and bolts badly. This hvac co. came out for biannual maintenance check -- which obviously doesn't include removal and cleaning of blower wheel and housing, nor does it include cleaning out the water outflow drainage tube that collects foliage debris; which then cause water backup prompting another service call. Btw. I promptly dumped the monthly service fee to get two "system checks" a year because it seems like once they find something- it's due to the last years of other techs doing absolutely nothing! They're all young and lazy looking to make a quick buck and likely forced by the corporate man to sell sell service repair upsell!! I'm not looking over their shoulder step by step and asking what are you doing, what does this mean? But I will for sure moving forward!! I keep my air at 77 and not lower, so there's not a huge stress. They noted a slow leak last February and suggested a leak test. I didn't do it at the time since he said it was slow. Two guys come out, in their separate top of the line Mercedes vehicles, and tell me I need my coil replaced; which is covered under warranty and scared me into schedule replacement for refrigeration leak and coil replacement along with the blower wheel cleaned, because, as the tech said look at what your breathing in (photo). No I am not - that's why there's a filter used inside, but still-well my bi yearly maintenance should include that cleaning!! And why wasn't this brought to my attention in the previous years??!Lazy arses. Since the coil is covered under warranty I was quoted 4 hours labor, coils replacement and fan cleaned and refrigerant at $$$2400!! The next company I used --Larson, a certified Trane dealer- said No leak!! Don't use them either, a grand less as they said no coil leak! But $1550 for refrigerant you can get on FB for free mixed with the new stuff at $15 a lbs and you mark up it up! I'm telling you these dumb techs don't know squat. Then how the heck did refrigerant leak in an enclosed system?? Hey Dukes if Air-/IF the coil is covered under warranty then why am I being charged for it?? This is with my gold member discount since they have serviced my unit exclusively since day one. If it is a slow leak why would the coil need to be replaced? The guy last Feb said it could wait until next year, but the guys today said that it could cause my compressor to blow! Yet my neighbors have their original unit from 30 yrs ago still working?? And-- it was very obvious that they both had to return to the vehicle to come up with a price each time. It was obvious one lead sales guy was teaching a newer guy how to reel the money in for repairs to be done as a quick fix for a couple grand-NOT getting to the root cause. 1) Bad recommendation to use Trane 2) Crap duct work done from day one 3) Crooked, Dumb or Lazy techs thereafter Lastly, the 5 stars are from friends and family members of the hvac techs and owners- it's ALL BS!! And use ai to do your homework and get at least 7 quotes! Find an individual or small business and let these big companies rip off Richie poos!

Greg, my technician, installed the unit (he even remembers the day because it was pouring rain, yet they did it anyways because it was the middle of winter and my house was absolutely freezing), and every year since, Greg has come out to service the unit, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently. The unit was reasonably priced and has performed wonderfully, even during the hottest months in Phoenix. As far as the office team goes, the customer service has always been prompt, courteous, and the team seems thorough in their work. They are honest and transparent, which is something I highly value. Scheduling my annual inspection is always easy, and they offer a maintenance plan that is affordable and convenient. I look forward to partnering with Kilter Mechanical for as long as I own an HVAC system in Phoenix. Their consistent and exceptional service has made them a trusted partner in maintaining my home's comfort.

    As we move into summer, our 11 year old AC unit started having days where it would stop blowing…read morecold air. We'd turn it off for a bit, turn it back on and it would work just fine for a few more days. Didn't seem to be a problem with electric, refrigerant, etc. We'd had the unit serviced recently so not much dirt on the unit.. I guess we're lucky because in the few years we've been here both our units have functioned great. Wasn't sure who to call, but we'd had a great experience with the plumbing side of Hansen, so we reached out. Scheduling was very easy. You can do so online, or a real person answers the phone. They offered to have someone out within a few hours! Our problem wasn't that urgent, but it's comforting to know. Benjamin was our technician, and he was great with communication. He diagnosed the problem (leaking fan motor) very quickly, and gave us options for repair. At no time was he pushy about anything, just factual. We were on the fence with repair vs replace, but decided the unit had enough life in it to repair. Ben also gave us figures on replacing with an eye towards the future. He wrote it all up even knowing that we weren't going to buy anything in the short term. This is really excellent customer service, and you can bet when we're ready we will remember. The repairs were done quickly, we got an email with the invoice and pictures of all the areas worked on. The property was left tidy, and it was an overall excellent experience. That was a week ago, and our AC is working better than it has in the past two years.
