Used Bolt Electric to install recessed lighting in my living room. They came out quickly to provide an estimate for the job which was in line with, but cheaper than others. The rep was not pushy on trying to get me to do something I didn't want; he even went as far as to call home-base to see when they could do the work if I decided to go with them. Upon hiring them, the customer service was excellent. I called with a few follow up questions that were quickly answered. Today the work was done and Daniel, my guy, was excellent. He took the time to explain what was going to happen, and he shared his honest opinion about what I was requesting. Originally, I was going to install 6 lights for the space but he said it may be too bright, which made the job cheaper for me by reducing the # of lights. Before he made any holes he made sure I was okay with the layout and he asked which light setting I wanted instead of picking one ( I didn't know the lights had 3 different brightness levels). We purchase an Emporia Vue power monitor to try to figure out what uses the most power in our house to try to assess how we can be more efficient. I sent quite a few emails to a variety of electrician companies, including those who claim to do energy efficient analysis, and both was really the only one who replied back that they had the ability to install this into our electrical panel. The unit that we bought is able to monitor 16 different circuits. Well, my husband watched quite a few videos and was comfortable installing it, as it was our first time attempting to do so directly into the electric panel. It was highly suggested that we have a licensed electrician present. We were quoted a $550 price tag and we arranged an appointment with Stephanie. She contacted us a week prior to confirm that we still wish to proceed. On the day at the install, they contacted us and let us know that they had someone available earlier and so Aiden was assigned to job. He was very professional and efficient. My husband had insured, he had all of the circuits correctly marked and had the Emporia ready to install so this made the installation pretty efficient. The only thing we had to review was how the Emporia was powered from the electrical panel, but this was a quick view of an instructions and everything was done quickly and efficiently. As the total time spent was much less than originally expected, and we had labels and all of the circuits identified, the price charged ended up being $400, which was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this company, their communication was fantastic and Aiden was super professional and also very neat with the installation, which is important when you are specifically looking at each circuit load. this was my second time calling bolt electric, and both experiences were great, from the initial call to the actual repair. the first time i had a ballast replaced in an old fluorescent fixture, and this time, there was a gfci circuit/outlet that needed to be repaired/replaced. they seemed knowledgeable, did a quick assessment, and easily traced the initial problem to a faulty pond pump. they also gave me a short tutorial how to reset everything if the issue arises again once the pump is replaced. the technicians who came each time were friendly, honest, and efficient, and the price was very reasonable in both instances. i would definitely recommend bolt electric, and will be calling them again to replace some outdoor landscaping fixtures in the near future. thanks, guys! read more

I had an electrical breaker go out for my dryer in a rental in Mesa and Bolt was the first business I contacted due to their high number of positive reviews! I called and spoke with Felicia who was able to get me on the schedule in less than 48 hours, they were able to contact my tenants and myself as they were on their way to service. Matt was the tech and he was able to find the root of the problem within minutes, he explained that most of my breakers were outdated (they were never changed since the house was built in 1970) but he didn't attempt to upsell me on anything that wasn't truly needed. 2/22/24 The tech came out this morning and gave me a quote of 1300.00 to run a 75' 240 line to my garage for an EV plug and I asked him to email me a quote. After he left I received the quote of 2098.00. I only thought car dealers lowballed customers. The company said he gave me the wrong quote. 2/27/24 To the company's credit, they reached out over the phone and asked what they could do to make it right. I said they could give me the first quote of 1300 and they came back with 1800. I didn't take it but I appreciated the offer and them reaching out for the mistake. read more

I got introduced to Bolt Electric through Home Advisor. They came over in a day to bid on double of really minor things, I think. One was to create an outdoor electrical outlet by cutting a neat hole into the cinder block to tap into indoor electrical outlet wiring, like in this picture (existed before). See my photo below. Second was to find out why exiting outdooroutlet didn't work, and kept failing after installing new GFCI after replacing GFCI hree times. I didn't know if I was buying cheap bad GFCIs (Ithink Igotthem at Harbor Freight), or there was some electrical issue that was causing failure, Will thought it was because the cover didn'thave a gasket and water was getting in. He showed me the screws on the GFCI were rusted, I had that same cover all along. Well Will showed me why I had the wrong cover, because it didn't allow for hole in themiddle for the screw. He told me what cover to get, which I alredy saw (bubble cover) but didn't like. I thought Will was very professional and responsive, and told him that I was very impressed and I was gonna write a Yelp review about my good feelings. To create the new outdoor outlet is almost $400, which my neighbor did (but he moved away) for only $25 about 14 years ago. My neighbor had an electrical engineering degree and worked for the City of Phoeni fixing traffic lights all day. I don't know what the going rate is, but I called other electricians and they were just as expensive. Probably won'thire Bolt for theoutletjobs, but if I had somethingreally serious, I would hire them, maybe toremove the rottinglight post which Botl would do for $138. read more

The entire Bolt team was great to work with! My washer and dryer mysteriously started tripping the breaker and I figured the breaker needed to be replaced... Matt came out and looked at both the breaker box and washer/dryer, only to find that neither were the issue. After a thorough investigation, he determined that I had likely drilled through wiring during a recent DIY project. Oops. Now, obviously, telling someone that they caused their own problem can be a bit sensitive - Matt was tactful and kind in outlining what had happened without making me feel stupid. He provided three estimates and took time to explain to me what each solution would entail, how much it would cost, and why. Throughout the process, Matt was very specific in setting expectations on what was needed from us to perform the repair (what furniture needed to be moved, etc.) and also communicated each time he needed to cut a hole in the drywall and made sure I understood that Bolt Electric does not do drywall repair. While holes in drywall are never fun, I appreciated that he made sure there were no unpleasant surprises. And the cuts he made in the wall are neat, small, and he vacuumed afterward. Beyond Matt, Ashley, their operations manager, was prompt in responding to my questions about the estimates and work, and helpful in setting up the repair appointment. Stephanie called both times prior to Matt's arrival to provide more specific estimates on ETA, so I knew what to expect within the provided appointment windows. Ultimately, Matt fixed the issue by cutting out the damaged wiring, adding a couple of junction boxes and replacing the wiring between them. Everything looks great, and my washer and dryer work again! Hopefully we don't need an electrician again anytime soon, but if we do, we'll be going with Bolt again. read more

Monday morning comes and before 8 am I get a text to call and verify some info. They verify all my info and then tell me that the availability I booked is not available. Then proceeded to offer me other days. If the availability for the booking option is not accurate, it probably should not be offered. I thought I had an appointment scheduled and if I knew that it was not available then I would have kept looking on Sunday. Instead, after I found out there was no availability, I had to call 5 or 6 other places to try to get someone out. read more

We used Bolt Electric for the first time and should have declined service for the installation of 8 smoke detectors as the cost was almost $500 for a job that took 30 minutes to install the detectors we paid for in advance via Lowe's. Yes, the service cost for 30 minutes was almost $500. Bolt would not provide a quote over the phone for the installation service and I was working so my wife accepted the fee believing I knew about the installation service cost. Ridiculous for 30 minutes of work to be charged as much - I'm sure the employee is not making anywhere near $1,000 per hour. I wound up calling this company after another company dropped the ball when they came out and didn't solve my issue. The Bolt Electric tech introduced himself and what company he was with. I liked that this technician properly troubleshot, discussed with me what they were doing, what it would cost up front, and then solved the issue quickly and even provided me with an inspection of my circuit breaker box as my house is 24 years old. I was having an issue with an intermittent on a circuit in the kitchen where the microwave or the refrigerator would die but then power would come back after a little bit?
