Everytime we need service for our HVAC for 5 years or more now the only TRUSTED contractor we called is RMG Mechanical. Robert is always honest, trustworthy and reliable. We have warranty insurance but there are couple of times that the contractor they send us very obviously try to ripped us off. I highly recommend him to my friends and colleagues at work because its hard to find a trustworthy contractor. I had a service request through my home warranty and Rebecca gave me a call and left me a voicemail to get us in the books when I go to call her back and speak with her at 11:49am she lets me know that someone will be at my house from 12pm-4pm that same day! I had appointments scheduled and important errands to do but I cancelled them to be here since my AC unit isn't running properly and we're in 110 weather. Just to get an email that she had cancelled my work order, I tried calling her back, even texted her and she read it but no response. Completely unacceptable! read more

Nothing worse than your AC going out in PHX in August on the weekend. RMG was assigned to our Service Request by our home warranty company and they called us Saturday night to schedule a Sunday appointment. Robert was very helpful when I described the symptoms and he and gave me hope that he could fix the issue. I was assigned to RMG by my home warranty when my A/C stopped working. They responded quickly and the technician that came to my home was friendly and knowledgeable. Ultimately it was determined that I needed the compressor replaced. The issue with this company is regarding the lack of transparency in costs. My home warranty indicated that they would cover the costs associated with replacing the compressor but not the use of a crane or disposal of the old compressor. This would be $400+. When I questioned why a crane was needed I was informed I needed to contact RMG Mechanical. I reached out to Rebecca, who had been my point of contact all along. She stated that "We are authorized to replace the compressor. I believe they covered most of it but there is a 400 and something balance that is not covered that you will have to pay us on the day we do it." I explained to her that my home warranty specifically stated that the use of a crane was the majority of that cost ($300+) and I inquired as to why it was needed. Rebecca then stated that "The roof is too high for the ladder. We will handle that." I was still confused at this point since access to my roof is not restricted. There is a standard indoor stairway and standard door that lead to my roof. I shared that information with her just in case she was unaware. To which she replied "Tech already knows everything, let me know if sat works for you?" I once again reiterated my confusion about the need for a crane. To which she replied "Since it is a big issue with you I will transfer it out to another company." It's disappointing that my interaction with RMG had to end on such a negative note. The blatant disregard to my inquiry felt manipulative. As a consumer, asking about all the costs associated with a repair is appropriate. Especially when there is a lack of justification. UPDATE: Based on the owners response it appears the reason for my review was unclear. It is not that a crane was needed. It was Rebecca's inability to explain WHY. Old Republic was initially asked for a justification and they were not told by RMG. This is why I was asked to contact the company who would actually be completing the work i.e. RMG. Rebecca's explanation that they don't have a tall enough ladder does not lead a reasonable consumer to believe there is an issue beyond height. So I asked for further clarification. Poor service. Came out to property because we submitted a claim to our warranty. They came out and not sure what they did but were only here for 5 minutes. Nothing was fixed and as a matter of fact the AC stopped working all together. When attempting to call them back they said they did what they needed and would not come back out unless we filed a claim with the warranty company again. Lady was very rude even after I advised that the temperature was over 100 degrees in the house, she told me to just leave a poor review which is what I am doing.... I mean who tells you to leave a bad review for their company?! I would definitely not recommend this company and am filing a complaint with the warranty and BBB. Wow! Just got the response from the owner.... stating I was trying to get a new machine.... not once did I bring up a new machine nor am I trying to get one.... I just wanted to know why the AC was not cooling after it had been serviced and was hoping to get someone out since the unit was at 100 degrees plus. Very unprofessional company. When you haven't had ac for almost a week and little kids you're hoping to get service in a timely manner. No one answers the phone when you call and then you leave a bad review and the owner is quick to respond with snarky remarks on a job he didn't even fulfill. Does any home warranty company think their customers ARENT difficult? Like no duh because they reassign your service requests to companies like this when you just need cool air for your children. I called to speak with someone regarding their "maintenance" that they did on my son's unit for which I am the tenant at. Rebecca answered the phone and from the start was very rude. All we were trying to do was get them to come look at the unit for which they looked at on Friday and made a mess of things. I can attest that at no point were we looking to replace it. There's a big difference between replacing and fixing. Very poor customer service!!!!! What's childish is your response. No one ever said anything about a new unit. I'm very happy to see how you treat your customers and how you run your business. Robert came to our home, for a Home Warrantee issue with our a/c. He added gas to the line, and said that was the reason the A/C stopped working. It froze up and stopped. I asked to check further, and he said he did and everything was working well. 3 days later, the A/C Stopped and won't start. I called to get some help. Finally Rebecca answered, and said she could not send Robert to find the problem, and that I needed to file another claim with Old Republic. AND that they wouldn't be able to come for at least 8 days! The Service person didn't complete the job, or the A/C would be working, but they wouldn't expedite the request!! VERY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!!! Additionally, I would recommend a new Voice for the Company, Rebecca is a poor representative of the company. After reading the many negative RMG reviews, I was concerned that our warranty company assigned our Air Conditioning problem to a sub standard company and I was apprehensive about using RMG. I was wrong. I am pleased to say that the phone interation with Rebecca to chedule the appt was positive and she even called on a Sunday . The scheduling of the service was timely as well. I cancelled the first scheduled 4pm appt after lbeing informed by the techician that he was running 30 minutes late due to earlier job delays; however, the cancellation was not due to the delay but because we did not want the technician to have to inspect our rooftop systems in 118 degree heat! That seemed inhumane to me. The next morning, Danny, the RMG technician promptly showed up y and after efficiently examining and inspecting both our inside vents and AC unit, he diagnosed the problem and quickly made the necessary repairs. In addition, Danny was pleasand and friendly and demonstated to us skill and knowledge as he explained to us the problem, how the problem likely happened and the repair that was needed. We are keeping the contact information for RMG for our future needs and will recommend the company, based on our interactions with Rebecca and Danny to others in our community. read more

AC stopped working, we were assigned RMG Mechanical by our warranty company. Technician came out and told us we needed a new coil and suggested we use different filters. Warranty company says that RMG reported we only needed new filters and AC was in working order when the technician left... no mention of needing a new coil. AC is NOT working as it is 91 degrees in our house. I talked to the woman in the office of RMG who was extremely rude telling me that the service request was closed out and it's not her problem. She told me the technician shouldn't have told us what was wrong with the AC and that he knows better. When I challenged her asking what couldn't he tell us, the truth, she said she doesn't know it's the truth because she's not a technician. I am in complete shock that a company would operate this way.. so unprofessional! It's 91 degrees in our house and we have a 3 month old and now need to start the process over to get it fixed with a different AC company because RMG didn't tell the warranty company the truth about what needed to be fixed. read more

Our warranty company then reached out to RMG Mechanical, where we were offered a same day visit to service our air conditioner. We are incredibly pleased with their prompt service and professional handling of our service request. We called our home warranty for our A/C and within 10 minutes RMG Mechanical called and set an appointment for the next day. They were on time and fixed the problem right away and now have cool air running. They spent a long time looking at the unit and fixed all that needed to be done. If you want someone to accommodate a 2 story home with a steep peak DO NOT use RMG Mechanical. They were assigned our property through our home warranty, and after having issues with other companies that couldn't assist us, they "guaranteed" that they could do this job, no issue, I made sure to disclose all issues that the previous companies encountered, steep peak, no ladder long enough, etc... and they laughed it off and said that they would have no issue finding a way to get up there and fixing whatever issue we were having, "guaranteed"! They came out today, after I take the day of to accommodate the time slot they gave me and didn't even have the courtesy to come to my door and tell me that the were incapable of accomplishing what they promised what wouldn't be an issue at all. They called after driving past our home and said they have never seen any roof like this and he was afraid to slip, which I understand can be scary for some, but don't make guarantees on something that you are too scared to do, while we could have been finding another company with more experienced technicians, rather than wasting our time waiting on you. Also, to put blame on the designers of the home is laughable! Now we get to wait the weekend with no ac for someone to come out who is actually capable of doing the work. ** UPDATE: Response to Roberts comment: I did not intend this post to hurt your feelings, but apparently it did. This post is not untruthful, nor is it unfair. This post was written with the intention to help future customers that may have a similar need, so that they need not waste their time and their families well being waiting on a company that may be incapable of meeting their needs. Yelp is not a site to be used to make a company feel better about themselves or to be spiteful, my review was neither of these. My review was simply to educate others based on my experience. I think that your comment on your review was enough for others to see who they are dealing with, you let your true colors shine without me doing it. If you are going to say that your scheduler did not do something then clearly state a short time later that they indeed did, that shows that I am not the one being untruthful. And for the record I indeed was told that this would be taken care of no issue between noon and 2 the following day(Fri) I was NEVER told that it was to come out and see if they could do the work, she said not to worry about the roof, they would find a way up! Also if you are going to flat out lie and say that my air conditioner is 2 - 3 feet from the edge of the roof, this is also false(I am adding a picture so that you can see that this wasn't the case). Maybe if you were not the one to come out and assess the situation then you really can't give an accurate opinion on the situation. Now as to why the other companies didn't get bad reviews, well, not that it is any of your business, also this makes you sound like a small child that isn't getting their way, but the truth of the matter is the first company did come out, let us know they couldn't perform the work, and called directly down to home warranty trying their hardest trying to find us someone who could meet our needs, the 2nd company was responsible and not in it for the profit or to boost their ego by trying to act like they could do a job they couldn't, they asked the necessary questions to find out what they would be facing before even coming out because they did not want our family to be without ac waiting on them to do work that they were not sure they could accomplish. RMG Mechanical - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me

I'm giving two stars instead of one because our problem may yet be resolved, albeit much later than it should have been, and because some of the blame belongs to the home warranty company. On July 22, we called our home warranty because the air conditioner in our Arizona room (an ancient wall unit) was making strange noises. An RMG tech came out the next day, listened to it, and told us it could not be repaired, would have to be replaced, and the home warranty company would have to approve the replacement. He said RMG would contact them to get approval. He did NOT take down any of the specifications for the unit, not even the size. The next day (July 24), we got a message from the home warranty company that the job was complete. We spent most of the next week trying to get everyone on the same page and the approval process done. I had to measure the unit and give the dimensions to RMG, since their tech hadn't done that when he came out. A big part of the problem was that it's very hard to get through to the home warranty company on the phone (hours on hold, sometimes until close of business). Finally on July 30 we were told that the RMG tech had found a replacement unit, which would be installed Friday (Aug. 2) afternoon. As the time approached 5 PM on Friday, no one had called or shown up. I called RMG to find out what was going on. They said they hadn't been able to find a suitable unit, that they had informed the home warranty of this, and the home warranty company was supposed to call us (they never did). As it stands now, the home warranty company is trying to find a replacement unit. They won't have it until at least Aug. 7--two full weeks after the original visit from the RMG tech. read more

home warranty request. called the company multiple times to confirm when a technician would be coming. stated 2-6. even though technicians will not get on a roof when it is dark, for obvious safety reasons. several minutes later the after hours person called and said the technician would be on their way and there would be no issues. lo and behold the after hours representative called back in less than 15 minutes saying the technician Google searched my house and did not have the correct ladder to complete the service requested and would not be coming to my property. At no point did the after hours person ever ask when setting up my appointment if my unit was on the 2nd floor. that information was never discussed. terrible customer service and no compassion or empathy for a customer trying to get some help fixing an air conditioning unit that has gone out. needless to say don't waste your time with this company, if your home warranty provider assigns you this company, politely request another and save yourself the headache. On Wednesday 7/25/2018 I spoke with scheduling to have my AC unit taken care of. My AC had stopped running on 7/24/2018 around 10:00pm and had asked the Lady if there was a possibility of having someone come out the same day. She checked, and then told me no, that the techs were all booked up for the day which is understandable. She said that a tech could come out on 7/26/2018 between 10a-1p. I told her that would be fine. On 7/26/2018 @ around 8:30 A.M. I called the lady to confirm my appointment and she said, yes, your tech will call you before he arrives. I took the day off to wait on the tech. At 11:00 A.M. a Lady called me, not the same lady that scheduled me, to tell me that they made an error and nobody would be out until Friday. I got pissed, cursed a bit and got no apology. Rather, she said " Sir, we don't tolerate that kind of language" Which, I get. It's 98 degrees in my house and I'm irritable so I did get bit mouthy. I gave one star here for customer service and not work performed. Scheduling is critical, I know mistakes happen. Something like this with no AC and 115 degrees outside , however I think needs to be more on point. An apology just doesn't cut it when you're melting. Maybe you do all you can, work a little later, skip a lunch or eat on the go and take care of your business. That'd be a bit more of an apology with a resolution! read more

My AC went out June 18th and so I called American Home Shield to have it fixed. They sent out Iceman Cooling to fix the problem. After coming out 3 times to fix my AC I still had no AC for more than a couple of hours after they left and said it was fixed everytime. After 3 times I demanded that AHS send out another company and I requested RMG. Robert from RMG Mechanical came out and checked all the wiring and found that I had a bad Relay. He then went and got me a new one and my AC is now finally working after 4 weeks. Robert then went and check my AC Unit, something I asked the other company to do, but then said they didn't need to. I would just like to thank RMG and Robert for the Fantastic job they did and would highly recommended them for any AC needs you might have.
