I paid and then got to wondering how something so small could cost that much? It took him less than 5min to replace. I googled the capacitor and it's $84 at Amazon. I had technician Tim Stockton come out and provide spring maintenance on my unit. He was on time, friendly and considerate. Before even starting the service he asked about our unit and asked if I had any concerns. I have never had a technician do this. He then did a thorough assessment and cleaning on my unit and came back to me to explain what he did and an overview on the condition of my unit. He showed pictures and provided explanations. My husband was a home inspector and was impressed with the quality of the service and the information that was provided. We decided to do the monthly plan to ensure we continue to take care of our unit and have the security of prompt service in case the Arizona summer causes issues in the heat of the summer. I whole-heartedly recommend this company and Tim to help maintain your heating or cooling units. read more

I paid $330 for a yearly service contract. The tech man who came out told me that I needed 3 capacitors replaced. With a 15% discount, I was charged over $850. The tech told me that one of the 3 parts costs over $400. When I checked the prices for the parts myself on-line, I found they actually cost under $100 for all of them, and it took the man less than 5 minutes to do the job. That amounted to a total cost of approximately $965 for just 1 hour of service. I immediately called the company and spoke with the manager. He was very pleasant and didn't argue with me. I told him that at the very least I wanted a refund of my $300 yearly service contract. He refunded $330 this morning and requested that I remove my negative review. Yelp wouldn't allow me to do this, so I am leaving this modification with 3 stars instead of 1. read more

I found AZ Perfect Comfort and gave them a call. They were very responsive and sent Mack T to check it out. Wow! Truly a blessing. I called them today after a horrifying experience with a scam artist HVAC company this morning. I had been without air for 1.5 days. The woman I spoke to initially was so nice and checked how far one of their technicians was from my address. I could not believe when she said he could make his way over TODAY. James showed up within 3 hours and could not have been more helpful. He was on my roof in the sweltering sun for a long time running tests and making sure everything was ok. Beware of these guys. Had them out to replace a motor on AC unit. Sold me on an extra $60.00 for 2 free check ups in the next year. Came out two weeks later and HUH, found problems that they said "they should have seen the first time". I asked for an estimate. After 20 minutes the guy comes down and says he shut off my unit entirely.... I said, "this is my house and I do not want the unit shut down". He said, " too bad I already did it and you need to have it repaired before I will turn it back on. End of the day, the annual checkups are a ruse for creating work and they use the shut down the system guise as a way of ensuring that you need to have it done. I don't know about the rest of you, but you don't shut down things or work on things in my domicile without my permission. Beware!! read more

Thanksgiving night I couldn't get the air to shut off! It was so cold in the house. I couldn't wait to go to work the next day to warm up. The operations manager came out on Black Friday (because he gave all his employees the day off) to fix the problem. My A/C units broke down. I have 3 on a old home. Unfortunately I am with American Home Shield warranty company. To make this short...I was finally allowed and approved for a new unit after 7 weeks. The day finally came and the A/C unit was to be installed. This AZ perfect comfort installation team comes by to start work for $1700.00 to install this unit. I have to sign a disclaimer if their is any roof damage. Me thinking this is odd, all they are doing is removing it from my flat foam roof. Well they had to cut away the roof on one side of the A/C unit. They could of informed me in any of the previous weeks. Instead I now have to have a estimates for over $2000.00. Temperature Pro came out to my home with 24 hours. My fiance and I just bought our first home together, after a few nights sleep we noticed the master bedroom did not get the airflow the rest of the house was getting. It turns out there was a piece blocking our vent to the master. We received photos of the blockage and saw the piece once it was removed. First, let me start off by saying I am shocked by the number of positive reviews for this place. Dealing with this company has been a horrendous process since day one. Stacy, the admin person, is extremely rude and greatly lacks professionalism. I had to deal with her trying to aggressively sell me a new unit multiple times before she finally got the clue to stop pressuring me. My unit is 5 years old, yet she told me it was subpar and old and I should just replace it. She didn't even know how old it was when she was telling me it's old. When I told her it was 5 years old, she changed what she said to "it's middle aged." The technicians that came out told me that it's a good name, not "old" or "middle aged." I was told by the technicians that 15-20 years old is what qualifies as an older unit. Stacy has her aggressive sales tactics that she will use to try to convince you that you have no other choice but to replace your unit. Don't fall for it! I feel so bad for all the elderly/naive people that have probably believed her lies. She is on commission and will do anything to convince you to buy a new AC out of pocket and avoid the home warranty company. Every interaction I've had with Stacy has been difficult. We have been trying to use our home warranty to get the costs of the repairs covered, but her poor communication has caused several delays. The repairs should be covered under our policy, but, we decided to hire another contractor to do the job because we are so frustrated with waiting on this company to follow the protocol requirements by the home warranty. It is clear to me that this company only works with the home warranty companies in order to try to make sales and convince their customers that it's useless to use the home warranty. They tried to sell me a new, bigger unit, a "better" brand unit, insulation, etc... All I needed was one tiny part!! So glad we went Matt over at Desert Diamond! He was able to come out and get it fixed within an hour! read more

This company saved the day for me about this time of year last year. They did a good job and made sure my part was covered by warranty because I had a five year warranty on my AC and they got my AC working again ASAP. So anyways, the last few days I have been having issues with my AC unit and I wanted to do business with them again but I forgot their name so I called my State Farm agent who referred me to them last summer. So they give me the number and I give AZ Perfect Comfort a call and they find me in their system but the lady that answered the phone didn't seem to eager to earn my business but she did answer some basic questions and then placed me on hold but since I was on break at work and it was 110 degrees outside I decided to hang up after about 3-5 minutes of being on hold. I am giving a one star because this company never called me back even though I was a previous customer and they had my contact information. I tell you customer service these days is horrendous in the customer service field and with the competition being so tight in the Arizona market you would think AZ Perfect Comfort would want repeat business but I guess they don't. Great service, Julio is a great tech! This summer our AC has been struggling to keep up and can't maintain temps after 9am. Our power bill is higher than last year and we called in different company at the behest of our landlord. I'll call them Company A. Company A basically said the unit "runs great," the temp split is ok and all is as expected. They claimed nothing was wrong; no explanation for our issues other than "APS increased their rates," as if we don't know how to compare usage and performance one summer from the next. And as if increasing temps in the early morning is totally normal. We called in TemperaturePro for a second opinion and thank goodness we did. Julio identified that our compressor was running at its max. The AC unit being 17yrs old is still technically running within spec, but with the compressor running at such high amps, it's probably on its last legs. He didn't try to sell me a new unit, just gave me a heads up which I appreciate, and a reasonable explanation for my issues. Additionally, if the landlord is looking at a major purchase in the next couple years, I imagine he'd appreciate a heads up too. Julio also discovered that we had a clogged drain and the drain pan had filled to the point the water was draining from the emergency drain. The first company missed it and we were in danger of water damage in our ceiling. TemperaturePro just saved our bacon. Julio also found some air leaks in our main vent which he sealed. After receiving the invoice/pics from TemperaturePro, I had a conversation with the owner from Company A. He reviewed the notes from his techs and compared against TemperaturePro's. He basically confirmed that TempPro was right and the reason why Company A didn't tell me about the compressor was because they got accused of upselling in the past and had been in hot water. While I understand where they were coming from, I want a company who will give me the facts, not to insulate me from information just so they don't get perceived as "selling something." Honesty and transparency is what I want, and I got that from TempPro. I really don't care what the motive behind Company A's withholding the full story was, I am entitled to know the facts. Company A's tech also claimed they topped off our coolant and told our landlord the same thing, but they didn't make any notes on our account nor was anyone charged, so the owner wasn't thrilled to hear that. The owner from Company A also apologized for missing the plugged drain, said they usually only check that during a (paid) routine maintenance session. However, Julio said when compromised performance is a complaint, checking things like drains are on his checklist to look at, even in an initial inspection. Bottom line, TemperaturePro I trust. Julio obviously knew his stuff and gave me the facts without any sales pitch. He was incredibly thorough and professional and showed us what he found throughout the inspection. So my air handler was making an awful racket for the past week or so. I knew this meant I'd need the Dreaded Air Conditioning Replacement, but I wasn't sure who I could trust.
