They recently replaced a rooftop unit on my rental condominium. They were very professional. The quote was accurate with options provided to control costs. The day of installation was very smooth including the use of a crane to get the old unit down and new one up. I was provided with photos of the old and new units on the roof as well as the proof of warranty validation. I cannot recommend Desert Comfort Mechanical enough. My older a/c developed a problem in which the interior fan would randomly not start. Re-booting the system would get it to work again, which proved the fans could blow and the compressor could compress, so it was far from a complete system failure. I called three of the most "reputable" companies in the valley and all three gave vague diagnoses then went straight to selling a new unit. I thought the system had life remaining and called Doug at Desert Comfort Mechanical. He agreed, and before even scheduling a visit gave me an idea (for free) to try before spending any money. That was my first indication I had reached someone with real integrity. The idea ultimately did not work, but eliminated one possibility. He came shortly thereafter, diagnosed the entire system, found the problem (which had not been mentioned by any of the other three), and replaced the faulty part. The system has performed flawlessly for 12 days, and I have found my new a/c tech. read more

I have had an a/c leak for some time now. Fadel and Trino spent a lot of time investigating the best way to replace the line set on my split unit which was extremely difficult through my roof and a long run via the attic to the unit in the garage. On the scheduled day they arrived exactly on time and Trino and Enrique removed some wood siding and crawled into my attic to pull the new line over 60'. They overcame varying difficulties to replace it and then had to purge the old line; check with nitrogen that there was no leak and replace the refrigerant and test. Trino was not happy that the unit was mounted below the granite rock and went to get a new pad and replaced that as well. They spent 12 hours from 6am to 6pm making sure it was working. They replaced the siding and cleaned up perfectly and stayed to make sure it was working correctly. Despite the added difficulties and new pad, they honored the original estimate. I cannot say enough about their customer service and work ethic. I am sure there are cheaper contractors, but if you want it done right by someone who cares, I highly recommend them. read more

My A/C compressor went out based on age and the storm we had a few days ago, so we didn't get any cooling in the main are of the house. I called the number after reviewing the comments on Yelp and thought why not give it a shot. Usually I'd like to get referrals through friends and family. I called at 7:30am and had Fadel, the technician, out at the house by 11am. Within minutes he identified the problem and was in and out in less than 30-mins. While he was here he serviced both Trane units and replaced the compressor for the second A/C as well as it was getting to an age. He was honest and told me the fan motor is squeaking on the larger unit that he came to replace the part for. It is currently working, but not sure how long it'll last. Rather than replacing a working part, he suggested I call back when the A/C goes out again as he already knows what the issue will be. I mean it's like the 6-star service you expect and almost never get nowadays. The price was fair too. You earned a new customer and my referral will go towards this locally owned business. So I was in the cooking dinner and noticed it was getting a a little hotter in the kitchen than the usual. Turns out, the AC in our home is went out in the middle of summer. Thursday night, I returned home, and my house thermostat was showing 85 degrees. I tried everything I knew to do without success. My husband searched for an AC repair company, saw the 5-star reviews for Desert Comfort Mechanical, and gave them a call. He called three companies, and Desert Comfort was the only one to call him back. They called back within 30 minutes. It was 9:00 pm by this time. I moved into a new home that had a single unit on the roof with two stories, and my main concern was air flow. I had 6 different companies give me a diagnostic and quotes (the high end being 12K to fix duct work and add insulation) and nobody had one singular way to fix the problem I had. I reached out to Desert Comfort and they sent Sean, their air-flow guru to take a look at the system. He explained the poor design, the lack of access and the air flow issues. He also was realistic about what results I could expect, and how my system was choking with only a single return. He obviously had been doing this for decades and can work by feel. He said he would write up the scope of work. I worked with Joseph Albertson who is the Customer Relationship Manager. He was nothing short of fantastic. We traded multiple emails back and forth,t he quote was upfront and reasonable, and I ended up adding on a few services and he guided me away from options that would only cost me money. The crew arrived at 6AM, Sean and a partner. They go in my attic, added a new return, did an air balance, added a remote thermostat. While on top of the roof checking the system they spotted an issue with a line backup and a pound of refrigerant being low. Everything was informative and no salesmanship, I opted to have them take care of the issues on the spot. Joseph's first concern was our experience with the onsite. It was fantastic. E-invoice was easy to pay, clear to read, and this company was a pleasure to deal with. They don't advertise and they work via word of mouth and by their yelp reviews. My a/c stopped blowing cold air on the hottest day of the year, a Sunday, at 5:30pm. I tried calling multiple places that advertise same day service, not one of them could come before the next day. I called Desert Comfort Mechanical after searching 24/7 ac service on Yelp. As mentioned on their Yelp page, I was calling after hours so no one answered my call but I left a voicemail at 6:35pm, I received a call from Fadel 20 minutes later saying that he could be at my house within 20 minutes. He was very friendly and was able to get the ac working quickly. He also came back the next day to replace a part and was very quick. I was calling around to get estimates on having an evaporative cooler removed. Desert Comfort Mechanical immediately stood out because the person answering the phone knew exactly what they were talking about. We discussed capping or totally removing the system. I appreciated a professional opinion. They also gave me an instant quote. This gave me comfort that they must do this type of work frequently. The other companies I contacted didn't know immediately if they did this type of work and of course couldn't give me a quote. The crew showed up on schedule. I had received a call letting me know they were on their way. They were very professional and completed the work with the removal and capping.
