I love this specific ABC Store!!! The staff are always friendly :) warm greetings, offering shopping baskets (cause yenno, I be always grabbing way more than what I intended to buy when I first entered, LOL), and GREAT customer service :D They work very hard and are great at their jobs. Y'ALL NEED RAISES YO! Who's I gotta tell for y'all to get them? ;) Whenever we stay at the Marriott Resort and Spa (which is a lot, shhhhhh), this ABC location is perfect! SO THE CONVENIENTS! It's on the Kealohilani tower side of the hotel, along Kalakaua Ave. It's jam packed with awesome things. Food (hot, cold, poke bowls, musubis, snacks, candy, drinks, alcohols galore, ice cream), touristy souvenir items (gifts to bring back home: shirts, mugs, calendars, bags, slippers, shot glasses, magnets, bottle openers, pineapple cake, macadamia nut), convenience items (toothbrush, bandaids, medicine, makeup), beach stuff (floaties, towels, mats, bags, dresses, sunscreen, coconut water) and just sooo much things! LOVE THAT *heart emojis* They also offer gifts after making enough purchases starting at $100 and more. I got a cute sturdy reusable shopping bag to put things in from that. Some items might be a bit pricier, but yenno, cause Waikiki brah. The store hours are long and definitely come in clutch for those late night runs to fetch alcohol, gatorade, water, or food! Yes, some things are more expensive but you can not put a price in convenience. before I get to the details if what they carry, let me tell you the best item they carry: 1.5 liter bottles of iced cold water for just $1.19. That, my friends, is a bargain! Most places charge a buck for 16.8 ounces. Over the 10 days, I'm drinking at least 15 of these! No need to stock my condo as I can pick one up in the way to and from the beach. Now to the details. ABC stores are one stop shopping and located on every block. They are clean, well stocked and the AC is cranking! For all of your beach days stop here for cold beverages, snacks, sandwiches, hats, beach towels, sunscreen and lip balm. No need to pack a cooler, just walk across the street! Sushi, shrimp cocktail, delicious cold salads, wraps, sandwiches, spam masubi, noodles, cut up fruit, whole fruit, ice cream - it's there. Chips, cookies, pretzels, popcorn, crackers, cheese. Everything. Plus you can buy wine, beer, and alcohol here in all size bottles. They have all the Hawaiian gift items and they are priced the same, if not better, than at the fancier stores. Macadamia nuts, Hawaiian chocolate covered macadamia nut clusters, key chains, magnets, wooden bowls and trays, sea turtle and hula dancer everything. Tote bags, zippered pouches, cross body bags and fanny packs. And clothing, too! T-shirts, sweatshirts, Hawaiian print dresses and shirts. Hawaiian print bags and beach towels. Usually I buy the water, salads and snacks but in this visit to Oahu, I picked up two square wooden trays made from Monkey wood with a plumeria stamped in the middle to use as charcuterie boards. Picked up wooden bowls in several sizes for olives and nuts. Can not wait to use them! Now, I wouldn't do a stock up my condo for the week thing here. Nice stores, friendly staff, prices mostly seem reasonable (get macadamia chocolates at the swap meet instead if you're going there). I enjoyed a number of musubi varieties here. Everyone told me to get 7-11 musubi, but I found ABC's to be better. Yummy and cheap sushi roll options as well. Great place to start the day. read more

Going to the ABC Stores was my number one item I wanted to do when I got back here. We are obsessed with these stores. The last time we visited one was in Vegas many years ago and we could not wait to be back! This one was very conveniently located for me, we stayed at the hotel across the street, so we did end up buying most of our last day souvenirs at this location. Plus we spent so much over the duration of our trip, mostly snacks and drinks, we got multiple "free prizes" with their promo. We got a towel, two mugs, and a tote bag. We purchases hoodies, shirts, jewelry, makeup, coffee, marinade, and of course Doraemon goodies here. My child is obsessed with Doraemon and there are not many places in the US, especially the mainland, that carry these types of items. Besides their absolutely fun and best priced souvenirs, we eat so much food and it was bomb! We cannot get enough of their musubi and sushi rolls. It was a daily purchase for snacks. So good and filling. The kids loved the Hawaiian Sun drinks and needed to get them every day. And the Uncles ice cream cookie sandwiches are perhaps the best cookie ice cream I have ever had, so fresh and creamy. I honestly would come here every year just for the food. We brought home the pineapple shortbread which was incredible and the pineapple ropes which were also amazing. I still need to try the mochi popcorn but I bet it will be delicious. BRIEF HISTORY: The first store, originally called "Mr. K", opened in 1964 in Waikiki by Oahu resident Sidney Kosasa. The business's name later changed to "ABC" in order to promote ease and familiarity. Today, the brand has expanded to include specialties like the Duke's Lane food hall in Waikiki, and Island Gourmet Markets. The majority of ABC's are in Hawaii but are also found in Las Vegas, the Mariana Islands, Guam and Saipan. THE STORE: This location was closest to where we were staying (Waikiki Beach Marriott) along busy Kalakaua Avenue. It's a good-sized store, clean and stocked the usual conveniences you'd expect from a sundry shop. The sandwiches and musubi are of a higher quality than most. I grabbed some snacks, drinks and adult beverages at very competitive prices. What's not to love about that? They have a lot of stuff and it's really expensive compared to target. But it's convenient, so we definitely bought a few things such as chips and water. The prepackaged food goes on sale towards the night but it's pretty salty and staleish. I didn't like the teriyaki musubi or the Kim chi fried rice but it looked good when I bought it lollllllll. The spam musubi was sub par. Update: came back for q tips for 1.99. Target had the same pack for .99 lol Update 2: didn't realize how much good souvenirs they had - definitely recommend buying the shot glasses with the engravings for a clean and classy present for your friends. I found everyone very friendly, my go to as we are staying at the Park Shore. We spent more time in there than anywhere else. The go to food was always fresh, the variety given was plentiful. Selection of clothes we bought for our little family was more than enough. I even found personal feminine hygiene products when a friend decided to pop in on our last day. i LOVE ABC Stores since I first stepped into one on my trip to Maui many moons ago. It's the perfect Hawaiian one-stop shop when you're in a hurry. And the fact that there was one inside my hotel (Waikiki Beach Marriott), close to the tower I was staying in was an added bonus. Granted there is an ABC Store on every block along Kalakaua & Kuhio but I liked mine. Haha... I bought souvenirs, snacks, postcards, chocolate macadamia treats, my Hawaii water bottles for the room, beach towels to take home, spam musubis (different kine and they were warm) and most importantly my ABC Stores logo t-shirt. I collect them and have every color. I found one that I've never seen before so I was super stoked on it. It just goes to show that the ABC Store inside Waikiki Beach Marriott aka my ABC Store was hands down the best... No Ka Oi. They literally have everything you could possibly need... They had a decent selection of presumably Hawaiian-originated snacks, including a lot of Maui chips, macadamia nuts, and dried fruit, though everything seemed a bit pricey. There's literally an ABC store every block in Waikiki. It's a great place to buy groceries, souvenirs in small portions. The price is pretty steep here, so if you want to buy things in bulk, I recommend going to Safeway (2 miles away). I highly recommend the Pinneaple wine ($12.99), the wine has a Pinneaple taste and very easy to drink. They not only have souvenirs, but also Hawaiian fast food like spam musubi, sandwich, bowls, donburi, sushi, poke, and salads. The shirts are pretty affordable ($10). It's so convenient to have these stores (there are 2) right inside the hotel. You can buy almost anything you'd need: sunblock, snacks, sweets, magazines, gifts, etc. One of the best things you can purchase at ABC Stores is alcohol (as in beverages/wine/spirits) - it's so much cheaper compared to buying drinks at the hotel bar/restaurant. I'm still amazed that there are so many of these stores in Waikiki, but what's even more impressive is that they are always packed. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices on many of the items, as well as the sales. We were looking for a bottle of wine to enjoy for the sunset. Not only did they have the bottle we were looking for, but it was $2 off on sale and they had one chilled in the refrigerated section. We ended up getting two since it was such a reasonable price. (We noticed the other ABC store locations were also running similar sales, so it's probably safe to assume that if you see a sale at one location, it will be honored at another.) Tourists beware. Stay away from this particular location. Be ready to be ripped off if you do go here. Very bad manager who goes by the name BAHI. I will post her picture to this review so you will know who she is. She literally tried to steal from me. I suspect she was a doing this intentionally. She behaves like a quick change artist. Read on and I will tell you the details. as I almost called the police on her. First off this is the ABC Store that is in the front of the Marriott Hotel. Not the one that is in a building in front of the church. There is a photo of the ABC Store from across the side street that is located in a strip in front of the church attached to this location, but that photo is attached to this yelp location by mistake. The one in front of the church is a good location with honest people working there. Go to that location instead. Next I will say that I don't think I have ever written a review like this. I don't think I have ever had an experience like this. Here is what happened. We were stranded in Waikiki with missing luggage. In the evening we went to this store and bought 3 swim suits and 3 rash guard shirts. The next day it rained so there was no beach day. The evening we bought the suits we were told by the young man at the desk that we could return the suits if not worn. He was nice and very friendly and they should be happy to have him as an employee. Well as you can expect the next day day I came back and tried to do just that as we didn't need the suits. The suite were still new and unworn. The tags were still attached so no problem there. The manager Bahi goes through the items and they had a hard time scanning one of the tags. She then says we don't sell this suit here so you cannot return it here. I said well you have to be mistaken as we bought all of these here and we have a receipt. She remained firm. She salad we bought them cross the street and would need to go there to return the items. I said I have not gone to the place cross the street. I had bought about 300 worth of other crap at this store however as for the week we were there it as our go to spot. She started yelling at me. She also said they didn't sell the shirts there. So she wouldn't take those either. Well I went over to to the rack and found two of the same shirt. Mind you we have a receipt and it's a computerized receipt. This is not a boutique with hand written receipts. It has the address of the store on it and it came out of the register there. I don't know what she was thinks nigh. I said lady I have a receipt. The receipt doesn't lie. So she finally agrees to take all the shirts and two of the trunks back as I caught her in her lie to me by finding them in the rack. Now she starts the slight of hand thing. She takes the shirts and puts them on the back counter. She takes three shirts but only refunds is for two. I point this out and she says no you only bought two shirts back. Now at this point we had been talking for awhile and people built up in the line and were watching the event unfold. The lady in back of me says "no he gave you three shirts and you folded them up and put them in the back counter and they are right there. Then another customer says the same thing. She looks really flustered like she is caught and finally agrees to refund us for all three shirts. Two people behind me who are obviously tourists like we are leave. They could tell by the treatment of me and the way she tried to steal a shirt from us for the benefit of the store that the place is A tourist rip off joint. Now the weird thing is that the young man who rang us up the night before comes in and says. Yes they bought this here. I rang them up. She still would not refund the shorts. Whatever I will eat a put of board shorts However it just shows what a rip off this place is. I went across the street with my receipt from this place. I explain my situation and they refund the cost of the shorts. Obviously the ABC Store in the hotel is "family" owned. I would have to expect that she is part of the "family" . I am from a big city and know how shop owners and clerks cAn rip off customers to make a little more for the store or for themselves. Only refund 2 shirts to a customer who may not be paying close attention then when the customer is gone return the third one you palmed off and pocket the money. I am pretty sure this is what I was happening. So all Tourists, especially those staying at the Waikiki Marriott beach resort and spa should stay away from this ABC Store on the main road Facing the beach in the front of the Waikiki MARRIOTT HOTEL. These are so ubiquitous around Waikiki it's ridiculous! They have a lot of uniquely Hawaii items such as macadamia nuts and chocolate as well as basic tourist necessities such as water and sunscreen. The prices are pretty steep for the non-water items. As for the t-shirts, I would suggest looking for the places that have sales where you buy 10 for $50 or something similar. I think these are the best deals because they make great gifts to bring back home as well as fun things to wear while you're being touristy in Honolulu. You definitely cannot find them anywhere else, either. The staff here is pretty friendly, even when the store gets busy. Good shopping experience if you're pretty much stuck in Waikiki and don't have the time to go out and shop. read more

If you wear a winnie the pooh tie with a long sleeve button up shirt like I did on my last visit, many of the employees with very friendly ask if you need help in a kind aloha manner. In one of the first reviews I read of our hotel there was mention that an ABC convenience store was connected to it. Little did I know that I would be stopping in there one or two times a day. It was probably no big deal that there was one connected to our hotel because there were 3 ABC stores with a block from the hotel and 52 stores in Honolulu. I had never stepped foot in an ABC store before I was in Hawaii and we got to be close friends during my week stay on Waikiki Beach. For whatever reason we always needed something. Either it was bottled water, wine, cheese, crackers or some after suntan lotion and to the ABC store we went. It got to be a rerun after awhile and almost humorous. The best thing is they had everything we needed (with the exception of a few small items we purchased at the grocery store). During your stay be sure to save your receipts. They give out a few gift for specific dollar amounts. We were able to collect our free mug as a souvenir before we left. read more

This one is my favorite. Why? Okay, so each ABC store has different rewards for frequent customers. You should be able to get a punch/stamp card for every $10 you spend. If you spend $100, you get the free prize. It's usually a water bottle or something small. This store's gift is a shopping bag that is labeled "ABC Store" and very hawaiian. It's probably changed by now...but I definitely recommend scouting out other stores and seeing what they offer. The bag was a great souvenir for me as it is handy and something I'd use back home to remind me of all the ABC stores that pop up every couple of steps. $100 isn't a lot especially if you are there with family or friends. Getting lotion, snacks, souvenirs, candy, towels, water, drinks adds up fast. You might as well go to one ABC Store and get that prize. The great thing about these stores? The spam musubi and onigiri (triangular rice and seaweed ball). The onigiri is restocked every day so it will run out. This go to convenience store was a bit overpriced but carried almost anything you might need. Even earrings, bananas, and Twizzlers! As I said, it was expensive, but that was true of most tourist traps on Waikiki. The more unhealthy the snack, the cheaper it was (true in most cases) so I felt sluggish after noshing from the ABC store, but that's my fault, not theirs. Then again, if you're going to Waikiki, a)you're probably a tourist and b)you are probably ready to drop some scrilla (money)...so this smorgasboard of "stuff" may fill all of your needs in one stop.
