Enjoying a tasting at Aaron Wines is a unique experience you rarely find in my experience in Paso Robles. This was also the first time I had ventured to Tin City for a tasting, usually opting for something east off 46 or a winery in the hills west of downtown. Not to be forgotten a lot of good wine off west 46 too! I ventured into the tasting room on a Monday, early afternoon, knowing the tasting room was open (11am-5:30pm, daily). I had looked the website over as to their offerings, but didn't know what the tasting were. I was excited to see Sirah and petite Syrah as varietals, especially Sand & Stone, that included 40% Grenache (a favorite of mine). The tasting line up featured a 2023 Pinot Noir, 2023 Reserve Pinot Noir, but from the Aequeoea (Latin for Of. The. Sea.) Followed the by Aaron brand: 2023 Sand & Stone, 2022 Citizen and a 2023 Petite Sirah. The Pinots were excellent, delicious over the palate with nice balance and structure thanks to the SLO Coast AVA grapes. However, I skipped over those a bit quick, knowing my girlfriend isn't the biggest Pinot fan, opting to pay closer attention to the Aaron brand. I was not disappointed. Take nothing away from the fantastic Pinots, I loved the Sand and Stone, the bright fruit, spice and structure marries very well with the Sirah and Petite Syrah. I had to inquire about the Graciano. Gibson, behind the bar pouring told me the story of how this varietal came about, sort of a mistake for Mourvedre. It was an interesting piece of information. Pleased with the red blend called Citizen, I finished with the 100% Petite Syrah, blended from a combination of barrels to create their flagship wine. I did revisit Sand & Stone, as the Grenache notes have been a favorite of mine since being introduced to wine. All in all, the vibe of Aaron is awesome! Gibson was a great host, very knowledgeable, in the varietals, the Aaron story and general conversation. I was the only patron in the tasting room, that had something to do with it, but I got a sense of the passion he had for the wine he was pouring, not just pouring wine to make a sale. My wife and I joined the Aaron Wines club about a year ago, and it's easily become one of our favorite memberships in Paso. The hospitality is second to none - Katie and the entire tasting room team are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always make our visits feel special. Aaron built his reputation as the Petite Sirah OG in Paso back in the early 2000s, and his Petite Sirah still stands out as one of the best in the region. But what's impressed us most is how strong his entire lineup is - from the crisp, structured whites under the Aequorea label to the elegant Rhône-style reds under the Aaron label like Citizen, Mauka, and Trespasser. The Tin City tasting room is welcoming and stylish, complete with a vinyl setup where the team curates music based on guests' tastes - such a fun, personal touch. Their wine club events are the best we've attended with amazing wine, great food, and an awesome + diverse community of wine club members. We're already looking forward to the album cover costume themed fall pickup party and can't recommend Aaron Wines enough! read more

Me and the Paso Robles BFFs signed up for the ohana tasting at Aaron Wines. (located in Tin City) Katie was our host and she was amazing. She was a great story teller and educated us on all the wines we sampled. I looooved the customized placemat that greeted us at the table with our wine glasses full and ready to rock. Great presentation and attention to detail. We got to pick from a selection of vinyl records to play as background music as we went through the Aaron wine journey. Another great personal touch. Our sample was definitely for the Syrah drinker. I ended up walking out with the Sand and Stone and the Citizen. A tasting at Aaron makes for a good time when at Tin City. Cheers! read more

What an absolute gem Aaron wines is! I'm so happy this spot was recommended to me. With so many wineries in Tin City and Paso in general, it's not an easy decision deciding where to go. Aaron is a spot I will definitely be recommending to anyone I know that's coming to Paso. The atmosphere, service, and wine was all great. We stopped in without a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. Waited about 2 minutes for a group to finish getting up and the space to be cleaned and then sat at the bar. The tasting room is fairly small but it looked like they had outdoor seating available for those nicer days. The tasting consisted of 5 wines with an additional pour from another open bottle when we were there. Our tasting host Katie was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the wines and where they grew. We learned about the grapes, soil, and tasting profile of each wine as we tasted through the menu. Since it was a pretty small tasting room you could hear a lot of the conversations around you, but this ended up being cool as we met some fun people to talk with. Definitely a spot I could've stayed and enjoyed a glass or bottle of wine if we weren't in a hurry to squeeze in another tasting. Favorites from the tasting were the petit sirah and blends from the west side. I ended up going home with a bottle of sandstone blend and the petit sirah, can't wait to drink them and go back for more wine next time I'm in town! read more

Located in the Tin City complex, this little tasting room provided me with glass after glass of pure pleasure. A visit here will allow you to sample Aaron and Aequorea label wines. The two women who were serving on my visit were welcoming, excellent conversationalists, and experts in wine knowledge. For a fee that can be applied to a wine purchase, you can sample six wines. Each pour was fantastic. I liked each one a lot but chose three bottles to take home. They are known for their petit syrah (rightly so) but I was surprised how much I enjoyed their pinot noir. I suck at writing reviews for wineries. I'll just say Aaron has some of my favorite wines from Paso Robles. They're located in Tin City. Their Aequorea Viognier is the best Viognier I've had and it unfortunately sells out quick. If it's in stock pick up a bottle or two. Hi-Times Wine shop in Costa Mesa, CA has them occasionally but usually just a bottle or two. Aaron pretty much focuses on Petit Sirah and they're fantastic. The owner is very friendly and happy to explain everything about his winery. Pre-pandemic he'd be at Hi-Times for wine tasting events on several occasions. My only complaint is how they dip the bottle in wax! It looks beautiful but I do not know the trick for removing it. I end up hacking at it with a knife for 10 minutes :-D read more

Really the question is why wouldn't you stop here? We came on a Sunday afternoon last minute after reading other reviews on Yelp regarding this great spot. It proved to be perfect. Gibson was amazing. We enjoyed wine tasting outside on the patio. Brought our own bread and olive oil from another local place (separate review) and began the journey through Aaron and the style of wine he creates. Gibson was friendly, knowledgeable and a great host. He conveyed the path taken in the creation of these wines and answered all our questions seamlessly. I felt at times as if we were talking to the wine maker himself because he was so knowledgeable. We enjoyed and purchased a few bottles and one of us became a wine club member. The patio was dog friendly and covered. Sometimes these places can be stuffy, not this place. Down to earth people sharing a down to earth wine. So I ask again why wouldn't you stop here? We stopped into the Aaron tasting room on the recommendation of Paula at nearby ONX (thank you Paula!) It was such a great find, and a wonderful way to wrap up our weekend in Paso. We were met by Gibson, the host at the tasting room, who made us feel welcome immediately. They have a lot of really impressive wines, including a couple of Pinot Noirs, which is unusual for the area (they source the grapes from cooler areas than Paso). The room is very comfortable, and they have some outside space as well (it was a bit warm, so we opted to be inside). Gibson told us a lot about the story of Aaron's journey into winemaking and, of course, a lot about the wines we were tasting. We grabbed a great Rhone blend and a really bold Cab blend that we are excited to have with steak later this summer. Highly recommend and we will be back! Thank you! read more

What a charming location! Katie helped us and I truly hope I'm spelling her name correctly. She was delightful, and so enthusiastic about the wines. We loved the petite sirah and a wine called the trespasser. She was very knowledgeable about the area, especially the vineyards and terroir of her winery but also the area in general. The tasting room has a hip vibe but very casual and not pretentious feeling at all. We decided to try Aaron Winery after twice having Aaron Petite Sirah with our dinner at Madeline's in Cambria. Lovely "character building" wines which reflect the wine makers expertise and the soil; Aaron's wines are "guided by art, but backed by science." A gem of a winery and a worthwhile experience. This was a completely random stop for us when visiting the gorgeous Tin City area. We literally just found this place by accident while visiting other nearby wineries. Upon entering we instantly loved the look and feel. The decor was totally our style and felt very comfortable. The staff were lovely and inviting, even though it was 30 minute til closing. The wines here were perfect for my taste - coastal pinots. One Pinot, I swear, had hints of sea spray. It was so unique and so delicious we bought ourselves a bottle. Like most wineries, the tasting fee isn't waived with anything less than a few bottles. But they do allow sharing and it's worth a try. read more

What can I say about Aaron Jackson's wines? This dude has something going here that everyone should know about. Amazing Pinot Noirs, so jammy and smooth, perfectly balanced. His red blends are sophisticated, complex, and unique. The Viognier's rival some of the best from the southern Oregon region. My wife and I have tasted wines all over the world and I have to say that Aaron's wines are among the best that we have ever had the pleasure of drinking. Aaron runs a small operation, but it's apparent that he has developed and continues to develop his craft of winemaking and is quickly becoming a winemaster. Make an appointment and try their wines! This cute little industrial area has a bunch of little tasting rooms and some brewery ones too, but you have to try Aaron's wine! He's been making wines since he was a teenager and has come up with some beautiful wines! They are smooth and great wines to have on your table. Ian served us our tastings and he was very knowledgable and let us try one of the wines out of the barrel that was still process. What a cool, fun, little place in an even cooler little part of town! Nestled behind warehouses and buildings off the freeway, this quaint little place (called Tin City) draws you in. Inside this place full of wine tasting rooms, breweries, and distilleries is Aaron Wines, one of our favorite stops in Paso! Great wines and great prices, they have two labels: the first, Aequorea produces a gorgeous Viogner, Riesling, and two Pinots, all fantastic and around the $35 range. Then, Aaron wines, producing all Petite Sirah blends, around the $45 range are really quite something. Our pourer, Hannah, was very knowledgable and friendly. I am a member of the winery and live in Sacramento and have my orders shipped to me. Unfortunately the winery uses UPS to deliver shipments. I work. UPS CHARGES a fee to change the delivery date. They did offer me to pick it up at their call center but it is 30 minutes away and not convenient. When I told them at Fed Ex offers Free alternative delivery arrangements at various places such as Walgreens or other fed ex locations near my house. UPS does not care. They get the shipping fee plus an additional charge if you are not home. I urge Aaron winery to consider changing vendors as this is ridiculous . Why should customers be penalized because they work and cannot be home during the day. We already are paying shipping charges. This is just another way to gauge the customer. Aaron winery.
