    Chicken 65

Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 3/5 I recently dined at a restaurant in downtown Hayward, and I was impressed by the friendly server who recommended some dishes. The food had flavor, and I appreciated the option to order naan without butter - a rarity at South Asian restaurants.

Came to try the momos and was a little disappointed. Flavor was okay, texture was okay, but I wish the skin was a bit thicker and there was a bit more bite to the momo. Also just feel like the flavor was a bit one dimensiobal and relied a bit too much on spice. Would be willing to come back to try the butter chicken and curries and naan which looked great, but might skip the momos next time.

This was the first time trying Aama and absolutely coming back! We got every medium spicy and could have turned the heat up a bit more but was worried how spicy they would do it. We ordered the chicken mono, matar panner, and lamb vindaloo. Everything was delicious! The naan and paratha was 10/10 and honestly could have passed on the roti. It was more like a tortilla & wasn't a huge fan.

They are open till very late 2 AM! Place was very welcoming to begin with. Food was okay! The best were chicken momos- soft, juicy succulent no complaints. Noodles were bit off, sauce didn't taste right, it had over bitternes, rancid oil taste. Chicken 65- chicken itself was dry, hard to chew. Very small portion. Naan was decent. They added 18% late night service charge for a party of two adults and a child. Which is fine I suppose, but has to be disclosed either on the menu or posted somewhere in the restaurant.

A small tucked away place, in downtown hayward where it can be easily missed. Definitely worth checking out, First time having momos, so was wondering what it tasted like. Service was very meh, not much people in the resturant and still nobody greeted, or checked on us throughout the time spent here while we tried to order, get the check, etc. 3.5/5 - Garlic Naan - Usually our go-to any time we get some curry. However all the garlic was burnt on this one. Tasted nothing but burnt flavor of the garlic overpowering everything 3.8/5 - Butter Naan - Generous portions, and was very crispy and fluffy, perfect to scoop up naan with. Butter is not spread well though as it was only in the middle. Would of made the dish better. 3/5 - Jhol Momo - Excited to try the dish. Presentation looks good, however the soup flavor was not great on top of it the momo was just very spicy overpowering any flavor in the momo itself. Soup is nutty but not much else comes through. Felt bland other than spice. 4/5 - Sadheko Momo - These fried momos were better than the soup ones. Crispy and has great spices to pair with it. Can't go wrong with these and worth to order. 4.2/5 - Butter Chicken - Classic curry. Very buttery, creamy and tangy with spices hitting you all around. Definitely cant go wrong. Generous amount of chicken to go with it as well. 3.5/5 - Tandoori chicken - Felt a bit dry, overall. Flavor is good and decently tender, but slightly overcooked where it sticks to the bone and not as easily to eat. Had better ones elsewhere, just could be better executed on cooking time.

First things first, our waiter Santos was very accommodating when we told him my sister was Vegan. He was able to explain which dishes were vegan and which could be made vegan. The food was great, but a bit on the salty side for my family. This was our first time trying Nepalese cuisine and I would come again but ask them less salty. My favorite was chili paneer!

I was craving some butter chicken so I decided to check this place out. Ordered the chicken momo, butter chicken, garlic/cheese naan, and chicken thali. The chicken momo is similar to a Chinese steamed dumpling and was a perfect plate for sharing as an appetizer. The butter chicken makes you scrape the bowl for every last drop. The naan was warm and flavorful I could not stop eating. The chicken thali is a nice meal set but I would prefer to order other dishes separately with a side of rice. This place is small inside and limited on tables so I would definitely try to beat the dinner rush and come early or order take out. There is plenty of parking with a free parking garage near by. The service was a little slow because there was only one server that was serving dishes and taking orders/payments-- he was hardworking though and very kind! There is another location opening in Livermore soon. I will be back for the butter chicken and warm naan!

Vegetable Nepali Thali - Medium Spicy

Great food and great Service. I'll start with our server, Santos. If you have any kind of dietary restrictions. Santos is well versed and can give you specific recommendations as well as to let you know how it would be prepared. Our group was blown away by this. Personally, I had the Vegetable Nepali Thali, medium spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd order it again and maybe try some meat the next time. Will I be back? You damn right, I AM! Parking is sometimes limited right in front of the restaurant, but there is plenty of parking real close by. You got Parking lot 4 on B Street and the Cinemark parking garage nearby on Foothill blvd.

The food, the service, and the environment was great! We loved everything we ate. Our waitress gave us the best suggestions and options as we had so many questions about the menu because we've never had Nepalese food before. She was so helpful and gave the best service! Santos was also a delight to have. He served our food and explained which was vegan and what wasn't. One of our friends was vegan, so he was trying to be considerate of that and thought it was so sweet. We ate so much and still had so much food left over! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something new!

Decent Nepalese food! The owner is super sweet. We went around 11am so we beat the lunch rush. The interior is cozy and homey. There aren't too many tables but I am not sure how packed they usually get. The food is warm and cozy, but nothing too inspiring or memorable. If you're in the area, this is a great contender, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

    Goat lunch combo
    Sheila E.

Came in close to 12pm on a Wednesday and there was one party of 2 in the restaurant. Ordered the goat lunch combo and my friend got the lamb combo. The food took a long time to come out, past 12:30. After the meal, I felt content and not full, although I didn't eat much of my rice and I barely ate the pickled veggies (it's just not for me). Nothing was amazing and the goat was a little tough. Not sure if I'd come back on my own but if friends wanted to come, I wouldn't be opposed to it unless I was in a rush. Service was very attentive. There was only one server and it was really empty. Bathroom was bright and clean.

    Oily Butter Chicken
    Antoinette T.

I hate writing bad reviews, but I gave this place two chances. Just to be clear, this review is based on delivery orders, not dine-in service. After seeing so many rave reviews about their butter chicken, I decided to try it along with basmati rice and garlic and cheese naan. Unfortunately, none of it was good. Everything lacked flavor to the point where I actually stopped eating for a second to make sure I wasn't sick everything tasted flat and oily. The butter chicken had tons of oil floating on top, and even after stirring it, it just separated again. The pieces of chicken were tiny and swimming in oil, not sauce. This was my first time trying the butter chicken, but my second time ordering from Aama's overall, and both times were disappointing. Sadly, I won't be ordering again

    Hai N.

Nice Nepal restaurant that serves late into the night for pick up or dine in. Very clean from what I gathered. The goat curry and naan and a Nepal beer was what I needed fr a late night craving.

There was one menu item where I couldn't tell if the lettuce was pale romaine, or iceberg. Hopefully romaine, since iceberg has no nutrition. I'm thankful they're open late, and that food comes in paper-based boxes. BUT I wish they'd pay attention to notes, better yet, add a menu item for utensils and default that to none. For all of my orders, late in the day, I've put notes in the item and order comments to leave out plastic utensils, but they've been ignored or missed. I even attempted to do that in 2-3 other languages, despite the handwritten "Thank you" on the order. I have a big bag of unused plastic utensils and unrecyclable containers that I don't know what to do with, taking up room. I take my orders home, and if I don't, I have camping utensils as well as a metal straw in my car. Besides more prospective trash to pay to have removed, on the business side you're paying for something there could be less of to pay for and pass on the cost of. I've previously contacted the management of east-bay eats, and suggested they configure the restaurant menus, without any positive change. This is state law, and not new, to only give single-use utensils, condiments, stirrers, straws if customer requests them, not the other way around. Many places either don't know, that info hasn't been passed from management to workers, or they've ignored the law. It's really annoying if I don't catch that when picking up (assuming a live person to speak with), especially if I've said something already. Yes, some people on social use a laugh emoji, but it's not funny. Think of all the trash from takeout when every order has plastic thrown in. And there's nothing I can use a plastic fork for. But how…read morecan you call that CRAB fried rice when it's basically rice and scrambled eggs that don't taste like crab at all and there's barely any crab on the rice. Super tiny amount you could barely taste it! So I ordered extra crab on the side.... small container of it cost $5!!!!! Not to mention, they don't let you buy some of their lunch soup like the thai resto before them! This is probably the last time I will ever order from this thai resto. There are tons of better places like this anyway with people with great and friendly personality.. This place sucks over all!!!!! Wow, I see my old review.. I'm not deleting it.. Recently, I have ordered four times from this place within two weeks.. I ordered the same things each time but the last time, I ordered more food/ other dishes.. My total was over $100.. the woman that took my order gave me a hard time and guilt tripped me because I asked for some extra pineapple for pineapple fried rice and extra broth for my soup.. she totally gave me a hard time. She didn't even put my order in until my husband got there and paid for it- SHE DOUBTED THAT WE WOULD PICK UP OUR FAMILY DINNER!!!!! Why did I even give this place a try again? I feel like an idiot! That woman is not good for business. She made me feel so bad ordering from them. The point of ordering over the phone is so when we get there, the wait time would be minimal. But no, she didn't trust that we would get our food.. So my husband had to wait for a long ass time! And the fried rice sucked! I don't think thai people cook their food. It definitely doesn't taste like thai food. The guy that took my order the last two times was amazing. I wish that he would be the one taking ordes all the time. But I think I'm done with this place.

Probably the worst Eggs Benedict I've ever had. The hollandaise sauce was incredibly bland, the eggs had no flavor, and the biscuit tasted stale and old. Definitely not worth ordering - Beef Noodle Soup: 2/5 - For almost $40 (tax/tip) I was so disappointed with this dish. The beef was incredibly tender and practically fell off the bone, but the broth was overwhelmingly salty, making it difficult to enjoy. - Waffles: 3/5 - It's hard to mess up waffles but these were just average. They also looked different from the pictures on Yelp.

The Favorite Indian Restaurant is... not my favorite Indian restaurant. But an Uber Eats…read morebuy-one-get-one deal plus a sudden craving for chilli chicken was apparently enough to get me through the door. We got the chilli chicken, and while it wasn't especially good, it did exactly what I needed it to do in that moment. Craving: handled. The surprise was the chicken curry. Rustic, hearty, comforting, and the kind of dish that feels less like restaurant food and more like something made to actually satisfy you. That one definitely hit the spot. So no, this isn't going on my "best Indian food" list. But when the craving hits and there's a good deal involved? I get it. Sometimes dinner doesn't need to be transcendent. It just needs to show up and do its job. And the food here did just that

Favorite Indian Restaurant, Hayward…read more August 2026 My nephew was craving for Tandoori and Butter chicken so we came here for much. We were served with appetizer called Papadum (Papad) which is are thin, crispy discs made from lentil, chickpea, or rice flour. They are served as an appetizer with mint chutney or tamarind sauce. They were so good! Next we ordered the Tandoori chicken and their lunch specials: Butter chicken, Chicken Vinaloo and Paneer Tikka Masala. All came with naan and side dishes. We also ordered the onion naan too. All the chicken entrees were very tender and fall off the bones. The Chicken Vinaloo was my favorite because of the tender, juicy chicken and the Vinaloo sauce was a tad spicy which I loved! I need to order an entree by itself next time! There was a rice pudding as a side dish they had and it was really good! It used to be plain and bland which I didn't like, now they added sliced almonds, golden raisins and other stuff that made it sweet. Perfect way to end the meal! Services were excellent! The waiter had all our orders correct and he was attentive. Definitely coming back for the weekend when they serve the buffet! Highly recommend this place.

From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. The food was fantastic, the ambience was beautiful, the drinks were spot on, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We started with the Trio Ceviche, which was delicious and beautifully presented. My wife had the Paella, and I ordered the Short Ribs--both were absolutely fantastic. Everything was plated beautifully and served quickly without feeling rushed. We also had the pleasure of meeting Miriam, the restaurant manager, who went above and beyond to take care of us. Her warm hospitality really made our evening special and turned a great dinner into a wonderful overall experience. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the delicious dishes on the menu. Casa del Toro is definitely one of our new go-to places to dine! Highly recommended!

We had borani kaddu - butternut squash with yogurt and garlic sauce. This was a good alternative to the common borani banjan. the texture was perfect, not overly cooked, went well with the warm bread. perfect for vegetarians. Our vegetarian companion had borani banjan - smoked, grilled eggplants in the tomato yogurt sauce similar to the appetizer we had. But served with rice and salad and green chick pea side provided enough serving. it was delicious - they have an option to make it vegan as well. Now quabili palaw was the star! massive size of lamb shank, well seasoned, well cooked, perfectly seasoned. The rice was fantastic with enough sweet carrots and raisins. Will be back just for this! Shami kabob came with two kababs (picture only one as our little one already sneaked one!). Kababs were juicy, perfectly spiced, with enough rice and salad. Between quabili palaw and shami kabob was enough for two adults and hungry child... Khoshmazeh!
