The friendliest service I've experienced in a long time. Very accommodating and good sense of humor. This small but cozy space serves up some really tasty food and they're open late! If you haven't had momos before, this is a great place to try a variety and the servers will answer any silly questions you have. Lots of other familiar dishes on the menu as well. I had never gone to Aama's Kitchen before, but wanted to try it because the reviews were so good! We were greeted by a sweet gentleman (can't remember his name unfortunately) and he was so attentive while we were dining. We ordered chicken tandoori (half), butter chicken and chicken biryani. When I tell you my mouth was bursting with flavors, you gotta believe me! The flavors were insane!!! Each dish was to die for. The chicken tandoori was so juicy. The butter chicken was the creamiest and tastiest I've ever had at a restaurant. The chicken biryani was just on point. So much food and great service in such a little restaurant. The space is small, shotgun style with a row of tables across one wall, and the kitchen on the other. We came in around 7:30pm on a Thursday evening, and there was a large table of 10, a couple 2 tops and then us. The place was full at that point. Our host and presumed owner was nice and answered whatever questions we had, mostly regarding heat levels, since each restaurant and region has their own heat scale. Food: Butter Chicken (spicy) Lamb Tikka Masala (spicy) Palak Paneer (medium) Basmati rice (of course to soak up all those awesome sauces) Garlic cilantro Naan Everything was exceptional and we devoured it all. I'll start with the service because I want to highlight it, some of the nicest people work here... including cooks, I like my food spicy and had them do the max heat for everything and asked for extra, the cook made somthing special for me and my fiancé and came to even have a conversation with us, genuinely great guy. Food and staff are great here, but at some point I got to take some stars for their slow service. It's been several times now where I've come to pick up my food and had to wait around for more than half an hour. Just today they quoted 30 minutes, I come a whole hour later and I'm still waiting. It's a Monday night and just two tables occupied when I walk in. I just think when your food is coming out that slow or the wait time is off by that much, the place becomes unreliable for dining out, doordash orders, etc. I hope they figure it out, because the food is good! read more

First off, the place is decorated very aesthetically which gives a nice vibe. The garlic naan was well cooked and the basmati rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Delicious food with exceptional customer service. The gentleman at the front of the house was so kind. He gave me a complimentary mango lassi while I waited for my large order to be finished. The chicken chili momo was excellent - sooo flavorful! We also ordered the butter chicken, lamb curry, and garlic naan which were all excellent! Stopped by Hayward on our way back from a family visit and we were craving some snacks. A lot of places closed mid-day, so we were struggling on deciding. I'm so thankful we came across this place! It's a decently sized spot and very well decorated, amazing vibes and a wonderful place to enjoy your food. The three of us shared the chow mein, fried chicken momos, and sadheko vegetable momos.These were genuinely the most unique and yummiest momos I have ever had. If you're a spice fan, you will LOVE the sadheko momos, and I believe Aama's Kitchen specializes in these. You won't find anything like their spicy and tangy sadheko momos anywhere else! Fried momos were delectable, juicy, and paired well with the sauce they provided. The chow mein was perfect and smokey. Service was fantastic! We were checked on several times and the owner welcomed us, as it was our first visit here. While Hayward's a little out of the way, we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area! I was picking up a friend from the Oakland airport and found this place as an intriguing option to try out on the way back. This place was small but not too small, and on a Thursday night, we had no trouble getting seated. The owner greeted us and was very nice, and gave us some recommendations to try! We went for the vegetarian chili momo and malai kofta with plain and garlic cilantro naan. The momos definitely felt fresh and even though it was really saucy, the dumplings themselves were pretty crispy. The sauce did have a strong ketchupy taste, but it had a nice kick which I enjoyed! The stuffing in the momos was kind of mushy and I had hoped I could have tasted the vegetables better, but nevertheless was still yummy. The naan was fresh and really soft, which was nice. But I could tell that the naan was just a little undercooked in certain parts, which honestly just comes to preference. The malai kofta had a pretty heavy butter flavor, but was the right level of thickness. The kofta balls themselves were a little firm, but tasted fine with everything. I think this is definitely a solid place in the area to get Nepalese food! Solid spot for Nepalese food in Hayward. I decided to grab a quick early dinner here after running some errands nearby. We came by Friday around 4 pm and it was empty, with only one other table dining. The menu has a large selection of both vegetarian and meat dishes. I appreciated that they serve both veggie and chicken momos cooked in a variety of ways, such as fried, fried and tossed in sauce, steamed etc. We shared: Steamed / jhol chicken momo ($13.99 for 8 pieces) Chicken thali ($22.99) Paneer tikka masala ($14.99) I don't get momos often, but I thought these were pretty good. Reminded me of all the Chinese dumplings I'm used to, except with some spices mixed into the filling. The thali came with 3 curries (chicken curry, mix veg curry, and daal) plus veggies, raita, pickles, and gulab jamun. Plus it comes with a TON of rice, enough for 1.5-2 people to share. The chicken curry was my favorite, but it was nice to have a little bit of everything for variety. The paneer tikka masala was my favorite curry dish. Very good food and customer service! We tried the Sadheko Momo with chicken and the Vegetable Thali. The Sadheko Momo had a lovely presentation, a delicious filling, and a crunchy exterior. It was a little spicy, which made eating it more fun! The mustard flavor is pretty strong, so I would probably order a different dish if you're not into that flavor. The onions, carrots, etc. on top of the dish were also flavored nicely. My favorite was the Nepali Thali. It came with a curry with lentils, another curry with potatoes, cooked spinach, basmati rice, condiments, a gulab jamun, a crispy wafer/flatbread, and a main curry dish of your choice (I chose the palak paneer). I thought all the curries were really tasty, and that this dish was a great way to sample different ones! There is a large amount of rice, so you don't have to worry about running out when eating it with your curries. The owner was also very friendly and made my dining experience even better! Aama Kitchen was so delightful. Right when you go in, the owner was so warm and kind. On a Saturday evening, Aama was full. Every single table was taken, but the food service was still very fast. This is definitely a local spot, and it was so beautiful to see many people coming together to eat this delicious food. The momos are different from other momos I've had, and this is the best way to describe it. It has a crisp outside, and the inside was super delicious with different veggie textures. The butter chicken and the palak paneer were delicious! The virgin mango mojito was so good! It's like a sparkling mango slushie! I don't like things that are too sweet, and this was perfect! I also loved the lamb biryani. There were many chunks of soft, tender lamb meat. The rice was flavorful and not oily! The desserts were so good. Ordered take out for the first time from this spot tonight, because it was conveniently close by. I ordered the mixed veggie pakora (to try something new), butter chicken, and garlic cilantro naan. They gave me an estimated time of 20 minutes and it was ready by the time I got there :). the space is kind of small but cozy, and the staff seemed friendly. The Mixed veggie pakora was pretty good and surprisingly still kind of crunchy by the time I got back home, I find that to go fried food usually gets soft/ soggy pretty quick. The butter chicken I ordered in a "medium spice" but it definitely tasted more mild, it still had a hearty flavor to it but I would def prefer more spice, might have to try the "spicy" version next time. Garlic naan was very soft and filling but will definitely like it to be crunchier next time which I'm sure they can accommodate by request.
