After trying 7 sushi places in forest hills area, I have to say this one is my number 1 choice of sushi place in forest hills. A sushi definitely has a better location than other sushi places in forest hills because it's very close to main street area. Compared to the price, they offer 3 rolls discount for lunch before 3 pm. There are tables inside the small shop and enough space that I won't feel too crowded. It's not a lot choices of sushi and I hope they will add more choices in the future. read more

We used to go to Fuji Cuisine on Queens Blvd but stopped going because I can't stand their customer service. Now we're looking to find the next go to Japanese joint in Forest Hills. Unfortunately this one is not it. The food is just decent. Nothing special. I ordered the salmon teriyaki which is just okay. My son got the ramen but it had more of a spicy Korean type noodle feel and taste. Nothing about it screamed Japanese style. The place itself is very small and poorly ventilated. I felt so stuffy in there. There is no bathroom for customer use. Basically what I expected from a joint like this. They do have free wifi. I heard Sushi Time up the block is much better. No restroom facility as the seats do the meet the law requirements for having a restroom facility on site. Customer service is above average. The food was not the best I've ever had but not the worst either. When I came for lunch however, we ordered the lunch special and it was a little on the sad side. The bento boxes are very small and lacking, although tasty. I ordered the three rolls and they were doused in mayo and the fish seemed a little on the stale side. My brother ordered a udon noodle for lunch and it was pure noodle and almost 0 meat, which was very disappointing. We also asked for extra katsu sauce and they told us it would be an extra $1. Damn, what is that savageness. Dog eat dog world out there. Not sure if the service and everything would have been better if we had dined in for lunch instead of taking out, but questionable if I would come here again, especially with all the Japanese restaurants there are in the area. read more

My only real complaint is that I asked for low sodium soy sauce and the chef said they only serve low sodium soy sauce but when I tasted it, it was probably one of the most salty soy sauces I've tasted. I usually get their 3 roll lunch special. I was excited they now have poke bowls. My seamless order came speedy as usual but I was very disappointed with my poke. We almost always order their lunch special on Mondays. I get their 3 roll special with a side salad. The rolls I choose are the spicy salmon, spicy tuna and the third roll depends on what I'm feeling that day. The serving size is enough to feed me 2x and the fish always tastes fresh. My boyfriend gets the teriyaki box (I steal a piece of his shumai) and he is always full after - it comes with shumai, rice, whatever protein, salad and a california roll. I was pleasantly surprised by this cozy little sushi spot. We arrived early before the dinner rush and got a lot of special treatment. There was only one other table dining at around 6:30PM. We sat near the chef's station and watched our sushi being masterfully prepared. In the meantime we had some gyoza and edamame appetizers to snack on while we waited. The food was prepared quite quickly. The fish was fresh. The rolls are pretty decent in size. Some of our rolls came with a tobiko coating which was a bonus. The offer vegetarian options as well. They have a nice selection of soft drinks. They carry Izze's too. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Our order was 100% correct with no issues. The tables were clean. You can't ask for much more. Well may be I'd ask for a bathroom but that's about it. The prices are pretty average. Despite the overpriced sushi, no ginger was included in the delivery - which I haven't seen in any NY sushi locations.
