Fantastic first-timer experience! My husband and I walked in today (Monday afternoon - MLK holiday) and we were immediately greeted and helped by Stephen. He was very knowledgable about shoes and what we were looking for. My husband plays tennis and pickleball, and he is thinking about running more. For myself, I was looking for more casual walking and running shoes. Stephen measured our feet on the scanner and he analyzed how we walked/ran. He really took his time with us by answering ALL our questions about shoe fit, comfortability, and lifestyle. Stephen's knowledge made us feel confident about our purchase. He came back with 3 shoes for each of us which fit the needs of our feet and lifestyle. I honestly wanted to buy 2, but we ended up buying one each. We are super, super excited to walk and run in our new shoes! Great value, amazing experience!! Thank you Snails Pace and thank you Stephen! read more

Paid $120 for Brooks women's shoes lasted 9 months with walking on flat ground in neighborhood. Top of shoe popped a hole through by big toe. They would not give me any credit towards the purchase of a new pair. I was told that these shoes only last 6 months to a year. If I knew that I never would have bought them. Going to sketchers who refunds you up to 90 days. I have purchased shoes in the past at Sketchers and they last up to 2 years. Beware!!! read more

I've been having pain in my right hip and left knee when I run. I figure this is a problem with the way I strike but just to be sure, I went to A Snail's Pace. According to the guy I talked to, he thinks it's more about the shoes. He brought out a couple for me to try on and explained how I needed more broad support. When I felt like my heel was slipping, he even showed me a special and extremely weird way to tie the shoe so that I made two little loops and then tied my shoe through those. It worked and my heels definitely don't slip. I ended up buying the shoes he recommended, and they were not my normal go-to (Hoka). They were even on sale! So far, I feel a difference in the support of the shoes, but my right hip and left knee still hurt a bit, especially if I do some sprinting. If it keeps up, I think I'll go back to the store but make an appointment this time. I was under the impression that the salespeople would watch me run, see if I'm doing something wrong and then find a shoe to assist...maybe watching me run on the treadmill to see if the recommended shoe was working. The salesperson I was working with did not seem at all interested in seeing me run and I even had to ask if I could use the treadmill to try out the shoes and he did not go with me but rather stayed where he was. On my behest he looked at my Hokas to see if they were wearing out on one side more vs. the other. It was a busy Saturday morning, and I was a "walk-in" so I wonder if I would have gotten more attention if I had an appointment. At any rate, I do like my shoes and the salesperson I worked with was extremely knowledgeable. I'd recommend checking the store out, but please make sure you have an appointment. read more

Hi, walked in your store tonight and Jerry was a great help. He sold my daughter and I both hiking shoes and explained to us all about the shoes. Jerry took a lot of time with us and he was very knowledgeable. You need more employees like him. read more

Snails is a great shoe store for running shoes only. I was recommended this place years ago to come and get the best standard running shoes. Too bad they are far away from Fountain Valley where I live. But me and my girlfriend were in the area yesterday messing around at the Brea Mall. Than, I just remembered, I need some new running shoes. I also bought her a pair here so that we can workout together. They have good shoes for runners. They also repair shoes here as well. Nice shoes and fit, and we are both happy. I recommend Snails Pace Running Shop for running shoes. read more

First time visit after recommended by family member. Looking for a shoe that fits as I've been training for longer distance runs which resulted in foot pains. Was glad to have met Bill. He is a seasoned runner himself. He got me on some diagnostics and was able to figure out the reason for my nagging foot pain. We tried out and fitting few different shoes and was able to select the one that fitted me the best. Great consultation with Bill. I usually purchase shoes online and sure you may be able to get somewhat cheaper shoes , but coming here is worth your time if you are an avid runner. This is worth the investment in order to protect your body from the long wear and tear. Highly recommend. read more

Although I usually purchase all of my shoes and other running gear from another online store, this is probably the store that I would go to if I need anything last minute as it is fairly close by, the prices are reasonable, and they have a very knowledgeable staff. Besides that, I will occasionally be here to pick up my race packet for one of the smaller local races. Parking can be scarce at times as the lot is shared with some popular stores and restaurants. read more

Travis helped us and was training Deric and they both were very pleasant! Travis seemed very knowledgeable about running as well as their products and he got us exactly what we needed-- which was some custom inserts and temporary ones until the customs come in (about 4 weeks). My husband already notices the difference in his gait and day to day walking with the additional of the blue super feet inserts. We are excited to see what the custom inserts do for his plantar fasciitis! read more

I walked in. Was greeted right away Had to take a number and wait for someone to assist me. NGL waited a while, but the place was busy. So of course I had to wait my turn. No problem. (Note: every employee was busy helping out other customers. They did not seem to want to rush anyone, and they were very attentive to all the customers. From my observation) I patiently waited, and I am so happy I did! Found my perfect running shoe STEVEN is the best! He helped find the right show for me and my needs. I'll be coming back again! Thanks again Steven! read more

I came in maybe 25 mins after the store opened at 10:00am to get my feet measured for insoles and was surprised it was already busy! Had to be put very briefly on a waitlist but I was assisted by a fellow Robert and promptly got my feet scanned and two devices and my gait assessed, free of charge. I was pretty impressed by the technology; it finally feels like it's 2025 but not quite at flying cars lol. Robert recommended me a selection of foot insoles and was able to answer all of my questions. I definitely felt safe with him, while all the other employees also gave off friendly vibes. Everyone was very polite and social; I was not intimidated at all with the employees and I felt confident in the results based off their assessments and technology. The value of the insoles in-house and roughly the same price as their amazon listings, so if you're gonna get insoles and you're in the area, may as well come in and get your feet assessed too. 11/10 would come again, recommending it to everyone I know! read more

Absolutely love the store. They have the technology to assess what your feet need with different machine as well as a treadmill. The most impressive part for me is the sales associate Jimmy, he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as to what we needed, he provided several options for my son to try on. Will definitely continue to shop here and recommend them. read more

I have alway worn a man's 9.5 AA width shoe. Extremely narrow for a man. I went in to purchase a pair of orthopedics. The salesman man brought out a pair of running shoes and said "You may need room and I would fit you with a 9.5 "D" width." They about fell off my foot! I'm assuming it was because it was the only width he had in inventory. He also brought out a pair of mild orthotics of which I purchased for $50.00. The Orthopedics did absolutely nothing to help my Planter fasciitis. I'm a senior citizen and was Very disappointed. I would say be careful in your purchase. I'm out $50.00 but, I had the good sense not to purchase the shoes. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Snail's Pace Running Shop! JT took me through a thorough fitting process for proper running shoes that suited my running style and flat feet. He analyzed my gait, feet, and overall mechanics to make sure I got the right shoes for me. I ended up with a pair of Saucony Guide 18s that feel incredible and have already made a noticeable difference in my runs. Knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping runners -- highly recommend! read more

I have been a customer of Snails Pace for 10+ years because I am very choosy about my sneakers. Although all of the sales staff has always been terrific, Jacob seems to be the most knowledgeable and helpful employee thus far. He explained the differences in the various sneakers, which greatly helped my daughter and I choose the rights shoes for her feet. We also appreciate the free 3D foot exam which helps narrow down the correct shoe choices at Snails Pace. read more

I went in today to get a new running shoes and was immediately helped by Stephen. Stephen was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough - he analyzed my feet and gait using the feet scanner and then went through all the details with me before recommending me some shoes to try. He also showed me how to tie my shoe laces properly! I didn't end up buying the shoes because they didn't have the color that I wanted but regardless I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend visiting this place to get your running needs! read more

Went in May to get fitted and buy shoes to start my running journey and it wasn't such a good experience. I am regularly a size 8.5 and the employee said I should buy 8.5 shoes. Me not knowing that I should get 1/2-1 size bigger I agreed. After a couple months with these shoes they were HURTING my feet to where I was getting blisters. I don't understand why this store has an all sales final policy. I went to Road Runners and they were a much better help! They gave me the appropriate shoes and even custom feet insoles. Do not recommend this place. read more

I walked into The Snail's Pace, arriving 45 minutes before closing with only 1 employee on the floor already helping a customer. I pulled a number showing that I was next. I waited for 20+ minutes. Then someone else came in and a worker came from the back and began helping the customer. I got an employee's attention from the back, (not wanting to sound rude to the new customer) and explained to them I've been waiting... and now the store will be closing in less than 20 minutes. About the same time, additional workers came from the back preparing to close soon (emptying trash, straightening shelves, etc). So why weren't they out on the floor originally? With time running out... I had a few boxes of shoes put in front of me, and was told to try them on and to see how they feel. Then it was closing time. I just left without a purchase and a firm decision that I would never go back. My time is valuable, but obviously not to The Snail's Pace staff. The following day I went to Happy Feet in Anaheim Hills... customer service was great ... NO comparison to The Snails Pace!! read more

I just got done buying my new ASICS ! I can't compliment Ashley enough. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. From the moment I stepped in the store to the moment of purchase. She showed me all the selections and the different brands. She explained the value of each shoe and what they had to offer me. She also went out of her way to try and find me a non-slip they had sold out of. I am typing this in the parking lot because as a salesmen myself I felt so welcome and appreciated. I sure hope she gets commission because she most definitely earned it. Folks ask for Ashley for top tier advice and service. 10/10 recommend and 100/100 service read more

Used to be good, has now gone downhill. A couple of salespeople are super rude. One interaction felt very hateful, maybe the owner is racist and sets the tone. This was recommended by my kids' running coach but I can't step foot in here again. There are plenty of running stores and R.E.I., therefore no need to buy anything from this store. read more

If you're a runner looking for guidance on the right quality running shoe this place is legit. Everyone in here knows what they're doing!

I have to say, my first experience here was not the greatest. I did come in about an hour before closing and the guy who helped seemed extremely uninterested to help me and made me feel very dumb whenever I would ask a question. I am big on second chances so I decided to come back and give it another try. I am so mad at myself for not remembering the names of the two gentlemen who helped me. They made sure I was taken care of, explained everything to me in depth, brought out plenty of shoes for me to try on. And ultimately helped me find the perfect everyday running shoe for me. I know for sure one of the guys helping me was a manager and the other was shadowing him. They both were very attentive and even stayed after closing for me which I appreciated. I think one is a cross country coach at a college nearby and the other is on a cross country team maybe? lol either way I was so happy with my experience the second time around! Thank you for helping me find the perfect shoe. I will definitely be back! read more

Where do I begin Ahhhh yes, customer service Ryan is the man, he changed my life, I've been wearing shoes that were not the correct size, due to this man I won't be in pain after a long day of cutting hair. Thank you again Ryan for taking care of my family I will be back read more

Craziest sales model. You have two people assisting a room full of customers. We are all taking numbers and just waiting l help. 3 people are we register talking to each other: it's so baffling. Just waiting. One staff member is just waiting on their 1 customers to return from bathroom while she wonders the store. I'm literally laughing at sales loss. read more

I walked into the store in Brea as a former high school collegiate and semi pro athlete now in my middle age doing CrossFit and really take my fitness and health seriously. I like the opposites of the store. Shoes are all displayed but with no price tag by assumption was that they wanted you to Ask for assistance and get the right shoe fit. I figured great! I'll be able to get something that's more particular to my running style however, after 20 minutes of waiting and standing around, no one ever came up to me. I looked around, and some of the staff were working with another customer, but never said anything to me. My take on this at first glance is that they have people over there that are also runners but runners don't always do a good job at Customer service lol my advice to them is hire someone to attend two people that are coming in and spending their very hard earned money on expensive shoes Because once you do that you'll have a customer for life, but I'm sure they are knowledgeable and have expertise so that is a plus, but I give them very low marks for Customer service and their ability to provide service to the average Joe. So as long as you have plenty of time to wait for someone to help you or go during the stores hours that are not busy You will be finding yourself having to wait. I was the only one in the store just standing around asking questions I had people even walking up to me saying what do I do? I let them know that maybe they should just try to either leave a note on the counter or maybe call them when they're available. A snails pace running store in Brea. Don't ignore your customers especially when everybody shops online. read more

This was my first time coming here. We were greeted the moment we walked in. Both my friend & I were getting fitted for running shoes. Kent helped us both out at the same time. He was very detailed in explaining what each thing meant & informing us about how our arches & stances were while walking/running. He brought us both out a few shoe options & explained the difference in each. Kent brought out cushioned shoes for me & more sturdy shoes for my friend since she had broken her ankle in the past & needed different support. By the end, we both were torn on which shoe we wanted. Kent was honestly so patient & so friendly! I highly recommend coming here to find your perfect fit read more

I really appreciated the free shoe fitting. I've always struggled to find a shoe that works for me and Snail's Pace really took the hassle out of the experience. This place is my favorite running store. They also have an amazing running club for all levels and are very encouraging.

A few short months over due but thanks to this place, I am now wearing the proper shoes and can run without any pain! All these years I thought I couldn't run because of body pain but it really was because I wasn't wearing the right shoes. They have a system where you step on (without your shoes) and it scans your feet. With the results, the sales associate will then bring out some recommended shoes for your feet. I'm gearing up for trail running and stopped by here to get some shoe recommendations. I had my feet measured by a machine and then was provided three different shoe recommendations which I found helpful (although I wish I also did a gait analysis). Got a pair of Brooks shoes and since they were last season's, they were on sale for $100. Note that you must take a number and will be helped in chronological order. Plenty of parking is available. They have two treadmills that you can use to test out the shoes. Overall, they are a shop that's super helpful and focused on helping your running experience improve. read more

These shoes have to be some cheap Chinese knockoffs. I have bought many different types of HOKAS but when I bought these for the first time at this store I couldn't believe how hard they felt on my feet. I have bought this type of Haka brand too, and they never felt like this. No way are these HOKAS real. Now after 3 weeks they are coming apart. picture below read more

Thank you Snail's Pace. This year I made a commitment to improve my health which includes a walking regimen. My current shoes were making my feet ache since I've been walking 10-15 miles a week. A friend recommended Snail's Pace to properly get fitted and get recommendations. I did my homework as well and came prepared with shoes I wanted to try. Tried several pairs including Hoka but settled on some super supportive Asics with ample enough cushioning. 15 miles later and my feet don't hurt after my daily walks. Staff was great and listened and brought out models that fit my criteria. I'll be back. read more

I got there at a moderately busy time but was helped within 5 minutes. Gaby was super helpful and did the assessment. She recommended 5 shoes total. I was looking for both work and running shoes. She asked about my color preferences and current pain. All the shoes I tried on fit me so well! It was hard to choose between the selections she gave me. I had a great experience and learned a lot. I left with two pairs of shoes for both work and running, which is exactly what I hoped for. Highly recommend read more

It has been over a decade since I was last fitted for running shoes, and my body has changed considerably since then, and I suspected my stride as well. I had been through several fitness trends including Crossfit, POSE method and barefoot running, my joints were worse for it, and I haven't been able to run consistently as a result. Heavy lifting without accompanying cardio hasn't been good to me. After spending hundreds of dollars on different knee braces and destroying my stomach with NSAID's, I figured maybe it was time to revisit my choice in footwear. I looked up running stores and A Snail's Pace was nearby and had just what I was looking for: a full map of my foot, video of my stride, and knowledgeable staff to help me find just the right shoe for me. Denie ("like the restaurant") took great care of me. I came to find out that my feet had changed significantly, and I went from significantly underpronating to mildly overpronating and needed a well-cushioned shoe with a little support. After the tests, Denie brought out a few different sets for me to try. Honestly though, her first recommendation - a set of Brooks - was right on the money. I tied to talk myself into a couple other brands I was more familiar with, but the Brooks were just so comfortable that I kept coming back to them. They checked all the right boxes and my joints had no complaints! Ultimately, the shoes weren't cheap and not what i would have chosen on my own, but they were exactly what I needed. Thanks to Denie and A Snail's Pace for getting me back on track! read more

Amazing store so happy I found it! I showed up first thing this morning with a heel / Achilles problem and Mayah spent almost an hour helping me find the perfect shoes for my feet. She was thorough, honest, kind, and had a great sense of humor. She did not make me feel rushed and compared to the other running stores I've been to she wasn't pushy over a specific shoe that she was trying to sell. I told her what has worked for me in the past and things that I would like to change going forward and she helped me find the perfect fit. There were a few pair pairs of shoes that I tried on that were second runner ups, and she was able to add them to my notes in my profile which is an amazing option to have !! Price was not an issue for me. I was willing to spend whatever I needed to find a good pair of shoes for my upcoming half marathon. The store was very clean, and they have many shoe options for all various needs. I will definitely be returning once I reach my max mileage on my current shoes! Thank you Snails Pace & Mayah!! Happy running :) read more
