This review has nothing to do with quality or taste, as I opted against ordering. I went in for a cake consult and found this place to be very expensive. The starting price for a tiered fonduit cakes is $350. It's a cake, not a kidney. Even Martha's doesn't charge this much for a cake. The price gouging is wild at $8 a slice (that is retail price for individual slices at your favorite premium bakery). How are you going to charge retail price for slices when you are selling the cake wholesale for a group of 40-50. A cake for 40-50 guests should not run more than $250 Sabrina might be an exquisitely nice person but her price list is extra mean. I also see a lot of great reviews for this place, addressing accommodation and last minute requests, but speaking strictly on price to value, there are better places out there which give you value for money. Omg I cannot explain how wonderful this place is. I came here after exploring different bakeries for my parents 40th anniversary. Some of the quotes I received from the other bakeries were ridiculous. I emailed them first and spoke with Lisa. I gave her my ideas of what I wanted and she was so patient and kind. We ordered a Sesame Street themed two tiered cake. The design of the cake was great and the characters was on point. But the cake inside was so dry. Some sort of sweet liquid or syrup was poured on top of the cakes to try to keep it moist. The cake was also crumbly. I was told the cakes would be made a day before but I don't think that's what they did. It had to be a couple days old. How can you do that to someone? I was so embarrassed. To say the least i was not pleased. I used them for the first time this past weekend for my grandsons Birthday. Only point of communication was via email. That should have been my first red flag. 2nd red flag, the store is never open! 3rd red flag was they had Saturday pick up on the invoice. Sent an email regarding pick up time, and got a response at 10pm friday night. Telling us they had us down for Sunday pick up (which is what we are used to from our regular bakery, pick up the day of) but we could come saturday to pick up. This was for my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Sabine was just amazing to work with. She took the time to find out what kind of cake we were looking for and gave me a lot of options for the cake and filling flavor combinations. We decided on a 3 tiered cake, and she even suggested making each tier different flavors. Our top tier and lower tier were vanilla cake with dulce de leech filling and the middle cake was chocolate with white chocolate mousse and raspberries. We also ordered a dozen vanilla cupcakes and a dozen cake pops. She was able to deliver it on the date of the event. Everyone loved the cake, cupcakes, and cake pops!
