Stopped by yesterday after a light dinner with neighbor. We both went with a slice of Strawberry Rhubarb pie. Was delicious not too sweet not to tart. Crust was beautifully made. Cute space with a few tables. Lots of cream and fruit pies to select from, they also make their own ice cream as well I believe. Service was friendly and helpful in making a decision.

The best crème brûlée cheesecake I've ever had (and first time for this combination too)! Cheesecake itself is also delicious as well, but the top part (caramelized crème brûlée) is the HIGHLIGHT of everything!! Can't wait to try other pies here because they look all so good!! The staff is nice to explain how their bakers bake everything in west Seattle store in 2am everyday and transport them to this store in Ballard. Will definitely come back in the earlier day to try their fresh pies.

Oooooo weeee this pie place is so good and fun flavors. Their slices are huge in addition to their heaping scoop of ice cream. I can never finish in one sitting. The service is chill, I wouldn't say welcoming. Just service. The decor is very minimal. Bathroom is clean. The store itself is clean, kind of tucked away behind the Ballard hustle and bustle, but well kept outside. Parking is street. There is also to go pie slices available.

First off the smell of fresh savory pie, meets you at the door. Didn't realize they did sweet and savory! The cashier gal was a sweetheart and very helpful with selecting the right pie and size. Pretty small inside, but a couple of tables if you wanted to sit and enjoy your slice!

Haven't been to A La Mode in 8 years. Got the cookies and cream, french apple and peanut butter. Very nice new place in Ballard, nice staff, easy parking.

    French Apple Pie

What happened to the recipe this year? This used to be the pie I looked forward to every thanksgiving and Christmas with the family until A La Mode Management I'm assuming must have decided to enact a cost saving measure that turned the pie into more apple pudding bread In the past the French apple pie had a nice thick crumble top crust and underneath identifiable individual apple slice chunks surrounded by a delicious syrup like sauce . Now it's like the filling is just an apple sauce puree and the crust is used to be thick & chunky enough to be a cookie on top. There is no visible sauce from the pie when cut as well making the pie seem much drier. I don't think I can recommend this pie any longer or buy this again if it stays like this.

Tried the Blue Hawaiian, and it was a tropical dream--blueberry, pineapple, and coconut all worked together perfectly. The crust was flaky and buttery, just how I like it. Cozy little spot, great for satisfying a pie craving. Would definitely come back to try more flavors!

Amazing pies, the sour cherry and all other pies so awesome. Try affogato with their own vanilla ice cream, just wow!

Great selection of pie! On busier days I would suggest calling to see what they have in stock. We had about 10 pies to choose from. The pies have great flavor and great texture. We loved that the banana cream had actual banana chunks. Inside is super cute and has a good amount of seating.

Great experience with helpful recommendations & kind customer service! The tasty pie selection is awesome, with so many options to try from. Great with a cup of tea :) Try it out!

The best pie I think I've ever had is the Hawaiian from here: coconut, blueberry and pineapple. I hate pie crust and just eat the insides, however, the perfectly flakey, buttery crust was divine and I ate every crumb. My friend ordered the apple and I had a bite - yum! I don't care for apple pie, but yes, it was good. A couple tables indoors and outdoors. They offer ice cream too. A La Mode is available on Goldbelly.com. I had to order a Hawaiian and arriving at my house, it was just as good.

This is a sister location to the original that is also in Ballard. Just as good though. Best apple pies around.

Soft and ripe and delicious. The cheesecake bites were not as flavorful as I would have liked, along with the vanilla ice cream, but I have a crazy sweet tooth so I recommend this one for those who like milder desserts that are not too sweet. The mixed berry bingsu was my fave! The berries were fresh but the best part was the ice cream! Super flavorful and I loved the fruit syrup too. For both, the bingsu itself is very light in flavor and texture. It melts in your mouth and pairs well with the toppings, especially that sweetened condensed milk. I hope to come back to try other items soon!!

We were there at opening, and ordere the grilled cheese which comes with tomato soup, crème brûlée and I had th hot chocolate. The sandwich was good, although I would have liked a slice more cheese. The soup was really amazing. I don't often like tomato soup but this was the exception. Chunks of tomato and a full flavor without a lot of spices. The crème brûlée was warmed and freshly caramelized on top. This is not made in advance and just refrigerated which seems to be more common these days. The hot chocolate hit the spot! Options for no -dairy alternatives were offered which I almost forgot to ask. Liked the atmosphere, spacious and high ceilings. The staff was very friendly and nice. They had a rush when they opened and didn't seem unusual for them. The candied orange was a nice touch.
