I saw an Instagram post about a tea biscuit assortment from Lá Liath Bakery and noted their presence at opening day of the Shoreline Farmers Market. I was there after the 10am opening (6/3/23), such a crowd on such a pleasant, sunny Saturday! I had the opportunity to meet Marenka Dobes, owner/chef of la Liath Bakery and thankfully there was a tea biscuit assortment available. Lovely, welcoming individual. She crafts her freshly baked goods line from a commercial kitchen in Georgetown. Can't wait when she opens her shop in Wallingford! I managed to hold off two hours before admiring then nibbling through the four types of tea biscuits. As it brought a smile and genuine satisfacation, these are highly recommended at treat for yourself or to share. Makes a terrific gift, just because. Excellent find!

Nice little bakery. Loved their sausage rolls, tarts etc. Had to go a few doors down to get coffee though!

Love this place! We've been multiple times and it's reliably great! Their sausage rolls taste just like we're back in Borough Market!

Is there seating or is it just take-away?

It is just takeaway. Just a production kitchen and front pastry counter. Pro tip: try to visit earlier in the day for best selection. And have patience finding parking in Wallingford, since on N 45th near I-5 exits. Enjoy! The pastry chef/owner,…

He also hates to spend a lot on desserts and he will splurge to get a piece of cake. The slices are pretty big so one slice will usually be a treat for us twice, sharing it. Though we both agree that we think the slices aren't as big as before. We used to be able to nibble 3 times on the cake slices instead of twice. We are actually considering just buying a full cake to save on cost and freeze it and thaw whenever we want a special treat or for celebrations. Anyway, we super love this cake and highly recommend it.

While I always love their cakes, their location is a bit challenging and their wait times have increased. There's limited parking for the shop which makes it harder to stop by than before. I also didn't appreciate this past time waiting for 15 minutes for two cake slices. To me that's kind of crazy. While there were a couple of larger orders ahead if me, I still don't think it should take that long to get cake. On most days, I would give 5/5 just based on their cake. Today I was disappointed by how long it took especially when I saw the workers just talking amongst themselves.

If I could watch a ASMR video on macaroon crunches I would pick Trophy. Their macaroons next to Bakery Neuvou are pretty on par. My favorite flavor is pistachio and I've tried all the flavors. None of the flavors taste super artificial or fake. I tried a macaroon shop at Bellevue Square and the packaging is nice but the macaroons are a little hard. Trophy hits on all levels. The service is always great in this small shop. Whoever does the training, kudos on excellent customer care. I'll do a cupcake review another time. In short, they are excellent and very Seattle. I have a few favorites from Trophy's including their s'mores cupcake that has toasted marshmallow and a classic yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
