I came out of the supermarket today and a very nice woman said your tire looks low on air. I…read morepanicked and went to the nearest tire shop on King street to get air and to inspect tire. The man said you need a new tire lets get you set up. I said you didn't even diagnose what was wrong with tire, you just automatically went to get money out of me. I said there is only one place I can get an honest opinion and that is Duffy Tire. They are Northampton's first tire company established over 50 years ago before the big chains came in with there slick advertising to lure you in with there low prices. Well the old saying still stands ,you get what you pay for.Jim Duffy has been working for his father since he was 9 years old.Nobody knows more about tires than Jim Duffy.Jim did a full inspection on the tire and said you must of hit one of those sewer holes raised above the road during construction on Prospect street and popped the seal. I'll take care of that real quick. Tire has been good ever since. I asked what do I owe you, he said nothing, I take care of my long term loyal customers. I'll know you'll be back. It's the free benefits that Jim Duffy gives his customers that in the long term makes him really the lowest price, most honest tire service company in Northampton. So before you jump at the slick gimmicks the others offer, I say go with the best and the Hell with the rest.So after your happy and satisfied please leave a positive Google review for Jim. The more positive reviews he gets the more business he will get. Thank you for your cooperation loyal customers. Thank God for Jim Duffy's Honesty and Integrity and Trustworthiness.

Great place, no BS…read more This Spring, my tire pressure light kept coming on. Following an oil change, Firestone told me I needed new tires & could be losing air d/t worn treads. I knew my treads were in decent condition & that the explanation was total BS. After checking out the positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to see what Pete's had to say. At my first appointment, Pete's confirmed my treads and tires looked fine. They topped off the air & we agreed the car's sensor seemed sensitive to minor pressure changes. A couple weeks later the light was back on. I stopped by without an appointment & they took me right in. The pressure was low in one tire, they filled it & sent me on my way. I felt they were dismissive of the on-going tire pressure problem but was happy w/ the (free!) service. I started ignoring the sensor, added air to my tire every couple of weeks & was fine for a few months. A few days ago, a different tire started leaking more dramatically. I made an appointment reporting two leaky tires, one fast & one slow. They found 3 nails causing the fast leak & an old plug causing the slow leak. They fixed both & again charged nothing! While I'm a little disappointed they didn't identify the slow leak sooner, I'm thoroughly impressed with the fact they never tried to sell me a tire! They've earned my recommendation & future business.

Went in for a tire repair. Staff were super friendly and efficient :) overall great service and…read morefair pricing.

TL:DR Greg's is the best around. Decent, trustworthy mechanics are worth their weight in gold…read more Background info: I turn my own wrenches. I work on my own cars and my motorcycles. In general, I don't use mechanics. But my wife's brakes started squealing, and she wanted us to find a good mechanic we could trust for the big jobs (Translation: she doesn't want to die if I mess up her brakes.) I called a couple of friends, and they both recommended Jeff at Greg's. I can't say enough good things about Jeff and his crew. I called and asked about replacing all 4 rotors and pads. Got quoted a very good price, and scheduled in for a Tuesday. Jeff called a few hours into Tuesday, and let me know that the front brakes were fine and didn't need replacing. I'd forgotten that we just replaced them not that long ago, and they didn't have many miles on them, just rust. The rears needed replacing, but the front just needed the rust ground off to stop the squealing. Now, a lesser mechanic would have seen the brakes were fine, and replaced them anyway; we'd have gotten what we asked for. Jeff doesn't roll that way. He fixed the actual problem, and it cost half of what we were quoted. Another note, the rotors he sold us are quality rotors. Ceramic coated so they won't rust after 5 minutes in the rain (unlike the old rotors our last mechanic installed!) All in all, Jeff and his crew are top notch. Honest, reliable, with a great reputation. 5 Solid Stars!!!

I went to Greg's Auto Repair with a check engine light on my 2016 Scion. Upon arrival, I was…read moregreeted by the owner and he offered to check the codes. I had an engine and a transmission error code. A mechanic at the shop also checked fluids and found burned metal in them, not a great sign. They told me in the gentlest way possible it was time to get a new car. I asked what I owed them and they refused to charge me. Coming from NYC, I was taken aback to be treated with such kindness and good faith by strangers running a business. We talked more about cars and about some new cars to avoid that they are seeing a lot of problems with. Since this visit, I bought new car. It probably won't need work for a while, but whenever it does I know where I am going. Highly recommend this business for skill, integrity and trustworthiness. Thank you again Greg's Auto Repair.
