Stuck on I-90, we used our roadside assistance service to call for help, and they dispatched Hampshire Towing. Dispatcher Kayla did a great job keeping us informed about the arrival of Alex, the tow operator. Based on our situation, he did the best he could to help us out. Due to the distance from our home to their shop, we decided to transport the car to Pleasant Street Auto for repair. On Monday I spoke with Steven to discuss the situation, and he was very thorough and analytical as he listened to my story leading up to the car breakdown. The shop was able to repair the car Monday afternoon and I picked it up Tuesday morning. Considering we were in a bind and at their mercy, I feel that we were treated very fairly and not taken advantage of. Walking into the office to pay the bill, I could tell that they take an interest in the concerns of their customers - even offering a box of Girl Scout cookies as a "thank you"! Having a car break down out-of-state is a difficult experience, and we're grateful to Hampshire Towing and Pleasant Street Auto for their assistance! I would highly recommend their services.

I looked online to see where I could take it in a rush. I noticed the great reviews for Midas, so I headed over there. The place was hopping, and yet the guys there were soooo friendly and helpful. Jason first took my information, then Felix engaged me in conversation. They offered to take a look at my car and then in between helping an older woman with her tire change (with a discount...) and driving a Umass student to school, friendly Felix asked Zach to put my car on the lift and fix it. Which he did. In 5 minutes or less. And no charge. Just a friendly smile and a suggestion that we try their services in the future. I was super impressed with the open and friendly atmosphere and the professionalism they showed. I do plan to return and I will recommend them to others.

The crew working is always nice, they've even put out a little red carpet on the ground when my car was finished, next to my drivers side one time I was there! They also always make sure you're mindful of what's around while leading you to the waiting room. Whether it be an open floor where they work on the car or the step up you have to take to get into the waiting room. While I don't have photos currently of the waiting area, it's pretty standard.....single stall unisex bathroom, tv playing softly on a random station, about 7/8 seats and free coffee and water for you while you're waiting. There was no sign on the door or at the counter about closing early or stopping inspections. I waited about 15 minutes before being told by the inspector that he wasn't doing any more inspections for the day because he was tired after being there since 8 a.m. He said he told the customer before me that he would be his last inspection -- but another customer wouldn't be responsible for telling me that, and he did not. If there's a cutoff time for inspections, it really needs to be clearly posted so people don't waste their time showing up well before closing and being turned away. Very poor customer service. I do wonder whether the owner or manager is aware of this decision to stop inspections early and the impact it has on customers.
