I had my car slow down on the highway. Was recommended by AAA to go to Lloyd's. They did great work also very pleasant and polite.

My car engine light came on and I brought it to Sean, the new owner of the old Economy Transmission, now Lloyd's Transmission and he was awesome!

I meant to write this review a long time ago, but the unfortunate circumstances that brought me to…read morethe fine people at KLM were a distraction that sidetracked me until now. On the way to Albany from Boston, my trusty old Subaru began to struggle going up a hill. We pulled over and stopped the car to investigate. It smelled like oil, and we could not get the car to restart. We called a tow truck and were lucky enough to end up at KLM. The people at KLM were friendly and patient from the start. They ran a number of tests and kept us updated throughout the process. Unfortunately, the engine had popped and blown oil throughout. The car was effectively a loss unless we wanted a new engine. They walked us through scrapping options and helped us decide the correct next step. Ultimately we decided to tow the car back to Boston to have an old mechanic review the work they had done. The people at KLM helped us make this choice despite the fact that they could have made money off of us had we scrapped the car with them. Bottom line: KLM are knowledgeable, fast, friendly, and fair workers. If we lived in Chicopee, KLM would be my regular mechanic. If you live in the area, they should be yours. Go here and trust that you'll be treated more than fairly by people who care about what they do.

I've never had to bring my car back in for servicing for the same problem. Once it's fixed it's done. I'm so grateful to have such a great place to take my car for repairs and knowing I'm getting top notch service. The BEST in Chicopee and the surrounding area.

Very unfortunate experience at E & G Auto. This story begins…read morewith Brake fluid leaking from my car and my 2012 Subaru Outback. I check the calipers and there is no fluid leaking so I must assume that its either coming the Master Cylinder or the lines underneath the heat shield. I am skilled enough to do most break work myself, but have no lift, therefore making breaklines near impossible for me to complete. I bring it in Friday 7/7. Come monday (7/10) I get a phone call from Brian telling me that one of my bleeder screws on my calipers is leaking and wont stop, they tried another screw but it is still leaking and therefore he caliper needs to be replaced and that I would be unable to take the car off the lot due to the loss of the use of the breaks. I ask Brian if the snapped the screw and she said no, I then ask him if they stripped the threads on the bleed screw from overtightining and Brian says no, everything is fine it just leaks. This is when I let him know that the caliper is only 9 MONTHS OLD, and that his garage has been thre only garage who serviced those breaks and that I had no leaks until last month. I let him know my feelings that I believe they have damaged the screw during the bleeding process and that I want to see the parts when I come to pick up the car. He tells me that I dont understand what I am talking about and that it is just a defective part. I tell them to fix it so I can leave the garage which almost doubles the initial cost of service. Brian also let me know that the car was first priority and that I would be able to pick it up mid day. He then calls me later and lets me know that the simple job has not been done. I let him know I will have to pick it up 7/12. So coming back from my trip I show up on 7/12 to pick up my car. Before I pay for anything I let Brian know that I want to inspect the old Caliper. We walk back in the garage and the bleeder screw is screwed into the caliper all the way, I unscrew it and inspect it and as I suspected the threads are completely destroyed and some of the metal from the threads are sitting on the receiving end of the seat which is causeing the problem as the area needs to remain clean and flush in order to create the seal. I explained to Brian, that its not the threads that create the Seal of a bleeder screw but the seat, and that the stripped threads have destroyed the seat, rendering the caliper useless. Brian was Shocked, he began to studder and mumble that this and said that E/G didnt do it and was not responsible. They allow me to inspect the car and I ask the technician what happened. He let me know that he cut back the brake lines and fixed the leak from the rear line opposite side of the affected caliper. He then said while bleeding the system he shut the bleeder screw it was still was leaking. The he said "I tried to tighten the screw some more but it wouldnt work" I knew this was the problem and that act of overtightening cause the damage as those screws are not designed to be cranked. This part is entered into the repair report. The proper procedure would be to remove the screw, inspect the seat, and attempt to clean any corrosion or debris that has gotten in the way of the seat to create the seal. NEVER OVERTIGHTEN. I then return to the office with Brian and say that we have a dispute. My claim is that they have damaged the caliper and that I do not want to pay for that portion. He Disagrees and says he "Stands by his technician." and would be unwilling to make things right with me. I asked him to seperate the jobs so I can have seperate transactions, Brian gave me the hardest time about this, heather the receptionist was trying to to walk him through it and he shushed her. Brian went in the back and I asked about the owner Eric and Heather said he doesnt deal with customers. This whole interaction was all recorded if Eric wants to review. Since i see him responding to these posts. It is sad that there was no resolution whatsover. All that needed to happen was for them to own the mistake and comp me for the caliper and labor of the caliper, E/G would have still made some money from my brake line job and I would have been a customer for life.

Last year when my check engine light came on and I brought my car to them, they told me that my whole transmission needed replacing right then, because it could fail in the next few months. (I've waited to give this review for that reason). They were urging me to get the work started right then, a cool $2800 right after I was out of work with a cancer diagnosis, and in desperate need of a working car to get to Boston for life-saving treatment, which I even told them. I was panicking more than any other time in my life, so I went out of town to get a second opinion. The other shop I found (in Springfield) tinkered with it for a few minutes for free and assured me it would be ok and was not a safety issue. 14 months later, my transmission is still doing just fine. I wish I had the resources to talk to a lawyer; this is unconscionable business practice. It put me under even more totally unnecessary stress than I was already facing, and it wasn't even true. And for the service of looking at the transmission, they charged me over $90 without mentioning before that it would cost so much. Even while they were explaining all this work I supposedly needed, they treated me like I was wasting their time, because they (I think Dave) kept saying "normally we work on cars that need $5,000-$7,000 in work", like mine was barely worth the dirt on the tires to them because it's old and basic. I still can't believe they tried to do that to me while I was facing a threat like cancer, needing to know that my car could get me to appointments safely.
