Since January, Precision Auto Repair has been a huge help for me not once but twice. I live in Southern Connecticut, but have family near the repair shop. I have had car problems twice while visiting family, and both times, I chose to go to Precision Auto. The customer service was excellent. The mechanics know their field. Very courteous and the repair costs were very reasonable. The second time I went, it was an urgent matter with my vehicle. I would not have made it back to CT without getting my vehicle fixed. This place is a rip off , do not recommend. If you plan on going here u better know what's already wrong with your car and plan on getting it fixed that day if u want them to "look" at it. They charge u about 120 too look at your car or in their words "diagnose" it. Very dishonest business, and out to take advantage of you and out for money. read more

I called up the day after Christmas to try and make appointment to just get my car looked at for possible issues, i fully assumed that it could be at least a week to get me in considering the time of year. I was happy to know they could fit me in that day. I am far from a car guy and far from a guy that takes it easy on his car, so i was expecting there to be some costs. My car is barely 2 years old and has well over 40,000 miles on it and i have done zero maintenance on it to this point, other than oil changes. So when i can got the call back saying i only needed an Oil change and alignment, i was overjoyed. Not only did i feel comfortable with the assessment of my car, i also felt very confident that my car was in the right hands. After talking to Matt and James, i knew i was dealing with people that knew cars and knew how to communicate well with customers. I have had my 2017 BMW x5 into precision auto for a couple of oil changes. On my last visit I let them know that I though my tire was rubbing when I would make deep left hand turn. Maybe it was just me or my snow tires that I had a tire dealership put on. (which the "tire dealership" told me there was nothing wrong). Precision auto found that I must've damaged my steering rack and front control arm. (I hope I'm saying this right) Pot holes are so bad this time of year. My car was very unsafe to drive! And it turned out to be a insurance claim that the people at Percision auto were amazing at dealing with. This company was so helpful with taking care of everything!! So thankful for everyone there and all the help, I knew something was going on with my car and it turned out to be a safety issue. So thankful for this company! read more

Long story short, my car needed work that greatly exceeded its value (I'm still heartbroken; not Precision's fault at all). However, the "bedside manner" I received from them was outstanding. Their communication made the whole process less stressful; the mechanic who was working with me even gave me ample time to pay for labor and to tow it away. Took my car in, was given an estimate. Was called the following day and told that the problem couldn't be fixed but they would have to charge me for them taking the car apart. I basically paid $500 for my car to be diagnosed. I thought that a place with professional mechanics would have other ways of diagnosing a car without having to take it apart, to then tell you they can't fix it.... read more

My wife brought our truck here to have a diagnostic done to determine why it was skipping and the check engine light was on. After a lengthy check on the entire vehicle (which wasn't asked for) the representative called me informing me there was what he suspected to be antifreeze on one or more or the spark plugs which could be caused by a leaking head gasket due to a warped head or bad head gasket or both. Then proceeded to tell me everything else that was wrong with the truck, ranging from bad tires to possibly needing a valve job. He also said he would text me the results of the full 110 point inspection, which he never did. After pulling the plugs myself, I found absolutely no indication of antifreeze on any one of them. I did however find the plugs under the intake manifold (must have been too busy looking at the 110 inspection points) were in need of replacement. After changing them the truck is running perfectly again. Unfortunately, I spent $142.14 for nothing. And had I listened to they're advice I probably would have driven the truck to the scrapyard. Called them on the phone, told them that I had engine service light on and that I had scanned the codes and showed them on my phone what the codes said. The guy says bring it in so we can look at it..Great I thought, so off to West Springfield from belchertown I go..the nox sensors were not reading according to my scanner and when they looked at it, they told me that they need to drop the DEF tank due to crusty stuff around DEF tank filler! Ok that's when I knew they didn't know what they were talking about they didn't mention anything about the NOX sensors! I mean I showed the guy my scanned codes and he goes to the def tank needing to be cleaned?? How does that happen? With no estimate on repairing the vehicle I got the hell out of there..of course after they charge me $130+ to tell me what I already knew...what a waste of money..oh wait I have money to burn! read more

Brought my car in because it was shaking (Jeep Wrangler, what else is new). They charged me close to 1000$ two days later it was still shaking. I brought it back and they had he audacity to charge me another 500$ saying they had found something else that was the reason for the shaking. Do not go here, just another dishonest car place. I wish I could give 0 stars. Both times car was brought in was for violent shaking. Both times violent shaking did not stop. Now it is happening again. read more

First of all, Precision Auto Repair is the most honest auto repair shop I've dealt with. The staff is professional and friendly. Last year, I had an issue with the transmission in my 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid that required it to be replaced. They diagnosed the problem in a very short time and gave us a few options on how to proceed. At no time did I feel pressured into any of those options. The repair was completed in only a day and half, which if you ask me is pretty impressive. Once we got the car back, it runs great and they washed the exterior and cleaned the interior as well. Knowing the owner is very fair and honest and charges extremely fair prices, I only bring my cars to Percision auto simply because I trust them. They never overcharge. I brought my car in because I thought I'd have to replace a certain part and when they looked at it, they simply fixed it without having to replace it and didn't charge me for a three minute repair. What a great place! I went to precision 2 weeks ago with some car problems. I don't know much about cars and have been overcharged by mechanics before, so I was pretty nervous going to a new place. The second I walked in I was greeted with kindness and after talking to Matt (I think that was his name) for just a few minutes, I knew I was in good hands. They were incredibly helpful, patient with my questions, had clear communication before they did any work on the car, and my car was up and running again the same day I dropped it off. If money is tight, they even offer a payment plan and told me the cost of things before they did the work. On top of all of that: I got a call a few days later to check on the car (which is running perfectly), and James, the owner, sent over a nice box of brownies to my house! I cannot speak highly enough of Precision. Not only do they know their cars, they are kind people who give a great personal touch. I was about to take my first vacation of the year, this past August and brought my Nissan Pathfinder in for an oil change. I had a feeling I might have a leak in my radiator as well and didn't want to end up on the back of a tow truck on my vacation, so I asked if they could check that out as well. They called me back after looking at my truck and told me that I did indeed have a leak in the top seam of my radiator and that my front brakes were pretty worn as well. I didn't feel this was an unusual find because it had been some while since I had my car serviced. They gave me an estimate for the front brakes, oil change, and a new radiator and all that was done by the time I got out of work. I went on my vacation and got stuck in 6 hrs of very slow and very hot cape cod traffic, but my ride was cool and I smiled as I passed all those other cars steaming on the side of the road. The staff was wonderful and I got a very fair price for very great service. After all that I even got road side assistance and a warranty. What more could you ask for? My son was so impressed with what I told him, he is going to be bringing in his car and his wife's car to be serviced. Thank you Percision Auto for a worry free vacation and great work on my truck.
